Death by God

He feels nothing when he first wakes up. No cold, no warmth, no pain, he just feels nothing. If anything, it feels more like he is weightless.

He can't hear anything either. For now.

He opens his eyes to see darkness.

"Ah, I see you are awake!" A loud masculine voice says out of nowhere. It sounds like it is coming from everywhere. Yet, he sees nobody.

"Um, where am I?" He asks as he is so confused.

"You're in the afterlife!"

"Afterlife? Wait, does that mean I'm dead?"

"Yes, sir! Death by car accident, though technically you did survive it?" He doesn't remember that. He only knows that he was about to head to work.

"Death by car accident? Also, what do you mean by technically? If I am alive, why am I here?"

"You were in the car port heading to your car when a speeding one came out of nowhere and hit you! Quite a bloody scene too. I thought for sure you were dead, so I snatched your soul up. It turns out, I was hasty in my decision as your body is still alive."

"Cool, so I can just return back to my body, yeah?"

"No."

"No? Come on, this is a sick joke if it is real."

"I am not kidding. Once the soul is removed, I can't return it."

"So let me get this straight; because you were impatient and didn't check to see if I was alive in the first place, you technically killed me?"

"Hey, let's not get hasty now-"

"No need to deny the truth, special creature thing."

"I am God.

"Wow. Even God makes mistakes, and he can't even fix them. I guess that was obvious from the beginning. Okay, so since I can't return back to my body, what happens to it?"

"Well, it's currently on life support waiting for you to return. However, once the six hours is up or whatever dumb hospital protocol is in place, the staff will kill your body and announce you dead."

"Great."

"However, someone from your family can come in and stop it. That means that they will hold onto false hope that you will return and keep your body alive as long as it can stay alive."

"All because of you!"

"Um, well, yes."

"Cool. So what happens to me now that you took my life away from me?"

"No need to be angry. I am willing to compensate you for my mistake."

"And how do you plan on doing that?"

"I will give you whatever life you wish. Just say it and I will do it."

"So reincarnation?"

"Yes."

"Wait, so I can reincarnate, but I can't go back to my body?"

"You can go into a new body. You just can't go into an old body."

"I guess that makes sense. So any life I want? Like what?"

"You could be in whatever world you want from apocalypse to paradise! Realistic versus fantasy! Whatever you desire, I can create!"

"Fantasy?"

"Yes. Every fantasy world you humans come up with is actually real. For some reason, some humans link up partially to it to know that it exists and write about it. It's an interesting phenomenon."

"But you're God."

"Some things I don't create with a clear head. I don't know everything about how the universe works."

"But do you know what's in mine?"

"Just about."

"So I can asked to be put into an anime?"

"I mean, if that's what you want."

"And I can be anybody I want to be, right? Like, a specific person?"

"Yes."

"Does that mean if I choose one universe, I can choose someone from another?"

"Of course. I have no limitations."

"Alright, alright, so I have so much power here."

"Yes, but please hurry up with your decision. I have plenty of other things to do."

"Like kill other people prematurely?" Silence comes from the higher being, "That's what I thought."

"Rarely happens."

"Uh-huh."

"Just tell me your dream life already."

"Okay. So have you seen My Hero Academia?"

"The world with superpowers called quirks, right?"

"Yes."

"You want to be there?"

"Well, obviously. Seems like a lot of fun."

"Noted, and who do you want to be?"

"You know Jujutsu Kaisen?"

"I said I know everything. Just tell me who you want to be."

"Satoru Gojo. However, I don't want to fully be him. I want to keep who I am. I'll keep everything else, though"

"So you want everything but his personality?"

"Yeah."

"I can arrange that. I assume you want to be a hero?"

"I would be dumb if I didn't want to be with those powers."

"Top hero?"

"Of course."

"Understood. I can't control every aspect of your life like family and such, but I can guarantee that while following the storyline you know."

"So I am getting everything I am asking for?"

"Obviously."

"Dream life here I come!"

"I wish you luck down there-"

"Wait!"

The higher being sounds done, "What?"

"Can I ask for one more thing?"

"Depends, what is it?"

"The quirk, or, well, powers Gojo has. Can you make it so they can't be taken by someone like All for One?"

"You're pushing it."

"You killed me. I have every right to push you." Silence at first. Then, he responds.

"Touche. I'll do it. I'm not giving you anything else, though. You ask for way too much."

"Because you killed me."

"I get it! You don't have to keep repeating it! Just get out of here!"

Then, nothing once more.
