Chapter 8

Murdering a Nomu should be the most traumatic thing that Satoru has to take part in for the day or a while at least. That is a ridiculous assumption.

Satoru doesn't get to go home and see his family until he goes through a questioning with the detective. That takes a while considering he has plenty of information on the villains due to his new memories (that he still hasn't had a chance to get over the fact about them yet), and he wants to make sure that they have as much as possible without making himself suspicious. That takes a bunch of brain power that he didn't plan on using today. Satoru wishes he could just tell them where they are at since he knows that for some reason, but that would land him into jail as a suspected villain or something else. He could also go by himself and defeat them, but that would get him in trouble too.

Basically, Satoru has the idea without the tools.

After over an hour of information exchange, Satoru finally gets to go home.

It turns out, Aizawa had called his parents during his interview and told them everything. Satoru doesn't know this, so when he comes in the door, he is confused when his little sister suddenly kicks him in the balls. Hard. His parents don't even stop her as they watch in the background!

Satoru falls to his knees in pain, "Shisuta! What is this about?!"

Shisuta crosses her arms and glares at him, "You got in middle of villain attack!"

Satoru tilts his head in confusion, "How do you know about that?"

Satoru's mom answers from behind Shisuta, "Your teacher called and told us." Of course, Aizawa did.

"Bad Satoru!" Shisuta snaps as she slaps him across the face. Satoru is just glad that is nowhere near as painful.

"I have to agree with Shisuta. Why did you get in the middle of a villain attack? It's the teachers' job to protect you."

"Because there was this large bird creature thing that was strong and had regenerative powers. Strong enough to defeat All Might in the right circumstances. Besides, you know I can't stand there and watch people get beat up when I can do something about it. It doesn't matter who it is. I will do something," Satoru explains as he stands up after his recovery

Satoru's dad sighs, "I understand, kid. But you could have got hurt or worse."

"Who are you speaking to again?"

"We are aware of how strong you are. However, like everyone else, you have your limitations. You just haven't found them yet. You don't want to find them out in a villain fight, do you?"

"It's not exactly preferred, you're right. There's only so much the school can do, though. I might end up having to anyway even if I don't want to."

"You're killing me, Satoru."

"You always say that."

"More so than usual. You're grounded for a week for getting into a villain fight. Actually, two weeks since you disobeyed a teacher's order as well apparently."

"Dang it."

"Maybe you will think about it before jumping into your next fray."

"But that's boring. I like to get into a fight once a while."

"Let's keep it with your classmates for now, alright?"

"Sure, but if I get involved in another villain fight, I'm not stopping myself."

"If you're in danger."

"I can accept that."

That conversation seems to be what Satoru's mom needed because as soon as she hears his answer, she runs over and tackles him in a hug, "I'm so glad you're safe and not hurt."

"Do you forget who you are talking to?"

"Do you want Shisuta to kick you again?"

"No…"

"Then quiet."

With that conversation over with, the family hug out their emotions and spend the rest of the evening enjoying each other's company.

UA is closed for a couple of days to give the school time to ramp up security. In the meantime, Satoru takes the time to reflect on what he has learned.

Satoru has no idea why he got memories of the future. Well, maybe a better word is visions, but memories make more sense seeing as they happened before in a different time. Anyway, he understands why the USJ triggered them since that's the first significant memory that he gained. The only other thing he understands is that these events he seen will happen again since the USJ incident proved it. What is he supposed to do? Tell someone?

Well, Satoru could. However, he doesn't know if that will screw anything up. He doesn't know how much he can interfere. Will it change the future if he tells someone? Has he already changed the future since he stopped the Nomu before it could permanently injure Aizawa?

The last answer is technically a yes. He just doesn't know how.

Satoru is unsure of how to take all of this. For now, he believes it is best to keep quiet about it. They always say that the bigger the social circle, the easier it is for word to get by. He is certain that the villains can't get ahold of this information. Otherwise, he is a prime subject to kill. Not that he isn't already with what he demonstrated at the USJ, but it won't be too bad at the moment. It would be a hundred times worse if they knew what knowledge he had.

At least he has a game plan now: remain quiet until needed and don't be obvious about knowing.

Satoru returns to UA to find the class as rambunctious as before. It makes sense considering they didn't see what happened in the USJ. There is no reason to worry if the heroes had the situation handled.

The only one who seems to be acting any different is Yaoyorozu, but it isn't too dramatic of a change. Satoru can't really tell what it is. She just seems more withdrawn. Maybe he should ask about it later.

Aizawa enters the room when the bell rings to find everyone in their desk surprisingly. He nods in approval and goes to the front.

"Today, I have an important announcement," Satoru doesn't understand why the students still freak out whenever Aizawa does something like this. He does it all the time, "The UA Sports Festival is in a couple of weeks."

"Yay, something fun!" Some of the class celebrates.

Satoru remembers the UA Sports Festival pretty well. It's an event hosted by the school once a year to demonstrate the students' capabilities so that they can be offered internships by the people watching. While this is mostly for the hero students, it helps the other classes as well…kind of.

Yeah, it might as well just be for hero students, but that's not his priority right now. He has much bigger worries than a school festival.

Now that Satoru thinks about it, shouldn't he remember what he placed as at the time in the festival? That seems like something he should remember, yet he doesn't. He remembers everyone else's, or at least the important ones anyway, but not his. Actually, he doesn't remember anything that he did. He remembers the events happening, yes. But he doesn't know how he was involved in them or what he did.

Satoru snaps out of that thought process. He can dwell on the meaning of life and stuff later. Right now, he is in school, and he needs to stick with the present.

Kirishima brings up a valid point, "Sir, is it a good idea to host that so soon after villains have entered the school? What if they come to the event?" Satoru understands what he is saying, and there are a couple of students who seem to agree with his sentiment.

Kaminari looks at Kirishima with shock, "And miss the Sports Festival? No way, man! There's only three chances in a lifetime for this!"

Aizawa uses his quirk to threaten everyone into silence before continuing, "Kaminari is right that there are only three chances in a lifetime. The Sports Festival is the best way to get the internship you want, so don't slack on your training. Before it, there was the Olympics to show what everyone can do. However, since quirks appeared, people lost interest in the Olympics and the Sports Festival has since replaced it. By continuing it after the villain attack, we are supposed to be showing that we are capable of dealing with it. It simply helps keep our public image up. The school has increased its security, so there shouldn't be a reason to worry about the villains attacking again. Besides, as previously stated, this is an important moment in your life. It's too significant to throw away. If villains are becoming more powerful, internships are what is going to prepare you to face them. With that said, do whatever you want for the rest of class."

Aizawa returns to his corner in his sleeping bag, and the class bursts out with excitement. They chatter with each other about the event as well as what they are going to do about it.

"Hey! Gojo, right?" Kirishima asks as he approaches the boy.

Satoru nods, "And your name is Kirishima?"

"Yeah, bro! I was wondering how you felt about this whole thing. You don't seem as excited about it as the others."

Satoru grins, "I'm pretty excited to grind Mister Blasty Pants into the ground." In the background, he hears Kaminari go 'oooo' only to be smacked by Ashido to shut up.

"What did you say, blindy?!" Bakugo yells even though Satoru can easily hear him at normal volume.

"I'm just telling everyone the facts."

Iida immediately runs between the two arguing boys, "Everyone calm down! Gojo, you know that was uncalled for! Bakugo, there is no need to yell!" Kirishima goes to Bakugo's side to prevent him from leaping at Satoru. His quirk, Hardening, makes his skin into a rocky surface, thus immune to Bakugo's explosions. It's a good combo that Satoru is more than willing to accept. Though, he feels sorry for Kirishima for having to deal with Bakugo.

"It's just friendly competition, Iida!"

Iida sighs and just returns to Midoriya and Uraraka to continue chatting.

"Dude, you are going to kill the class representative before the school year is over," Sero says out of nowhere to join the group. Satoru looks over the back-hair for a moment, remembering how his elbows have tape dispensers in them, and hums.

"Bah, he'll survive!"

"You literally made him give up arguing against you. He only does that with you."

"Oh…oops?"

"I can appreciate that in you, dude. I'm Sero."

"Gojo. Pleasure to meet them!"

Satoru ends up talking to Sero, Kirishima, and a couple of others for a little bit until the next teacher comes in to start teaching.

Satoru just wanted to eat and return to class like a normal student should. Does that happen?

Of course not.

As Satoru as going back to his classroom, he finds a bunch of students surrounding the door, preventing him, as well as his other classmates seeing how they are standing there in confusion, from going through. He finds with a glance that most of them seem to be general ed based on their uniforms, but there are a couple of hero students from class 1-B as well.

"Um, excuse me? I have class?" Satoru asks over the crowd.

Everyone turns their attention to him. That's concerning to him.

One boy with floating purple hair steps up to the plate, "Are you as arrogant as that blonde?"

Satoru tilts his head in confusion, "Which one? We have quite a few."

Satoru's chill persona seems to make the boy angrier, "The one with anger issues." Well, Satoru would say that it is rather bold to say that when he seems to have anger issues as well, but considering he is talking about Bakugo, Satoru will let it slide for now.

"Oh, Mister Blasty Pants? Yeah, no, he's a whole different species. Most of us don't run on that power complex. That's just a him thing. Can we come through now? I rather not be late for class. I promise you can watch us go in."

Another blonde hollers over the crowd, "You think that just because you got into a villain attack that you are better than us, huh?! You are probably bathing in the attention that the media is giving you! Well, 1-B will show you! We will knock you off your pedestal! Just you wait!"

Satoru turns his attention to him and clicks his tongue, "Uh, sir, I rather not have been involved in that situation in the first place considering my life was on the line along with the rest of class 1-A's. If you want to put your life on the line for attention, all power to you. However, that's not my cup of tea. I consider it bad luck."

That seems to snap everyone out of their arrogant ways as the truth runs through their head. Satoru really doesn't care to watch their revolution, however. As he promised the purple boy, he dramatically walks into his classroom, bowing to everyone before entering completely. The rest of his peers get the message as they follow him in a calmer fashion.

When Satoru enters the classroom, he makes his way to his desk only to stop at Bakugo's along the way and smiles at the boy, "Just so you know, they all hate you now. Great job! I hope you are proud of yourself! Just don't bring us down with you."

"Eh?! Get back here!" Bakugo yells, but Satoru simply ignores and sits at his desk instead.

Thankfully, the teacher arrives at that moment before Bakugo can do anything.

The next two weeks, Satoru trained harder than he ever has. With everything on his mind, he knows that he can't be weak. He has to be able to protect his family, friends, and civilians without dying himself due to him being the only one (presumably, there are other future quirks, but he knows most of those are limited) with information on what will happen in the future. The Sports Festival was a good excuse for him to use as well as an added benefit.

Today, Satoru can see how he compares to other people in his age group at the Sports Festival. He knows he is good, but he wants to know by how much. It will also show him what he needs to work on.

Satoru and his classmates stand in the locker room in their gym uniform, waiting for the event to start with excitement.

"Midoriya," The split red and white hair boy suddenly calls. One would only need to watch the news a couple of times to know that the boy's name is Todoroki, son of the number two hero. Usually, he is quiet, so it's catching that he is speaking now of all times.

Midoriya turns his attention to Todoroki, clearly nervous, "Uh, yes Todoroki?"

"Looking at things objectively, I'm stronger than you."

In Satoru's opinion, Midoriya agrees way too easily.

Todoroki continues, "However, All Might has his eye on you, doesn't he? But I'm going to beat you."

Midoriya and others stare at the boy in shock, including Satoru himself. He finds it a rather strange declaration. Sure, Midoriya is strong, but he is certainly not the biggest threat to Todoroki. The only thing that comes to mind is that Todoroki has some sort of vendetta against Midoriya, but the boy is too meek (no offense, Midoriya) for that kind of drama. Maybe it has something to do with Midoriya getting along with All Might? Satoru considered their relationship pretty strange before. It wasn't until after the memory slap that he realized that there is something there as Midoriya's quirk comes from All Might. He's not supposed to have that information, but he can't get rid of it now. He will just have to remain quiet for now.

Todoroki starts to walk away when Midoriya intervenes, "I don't know what prompted you to challenge me, Todoroki. Or saying that you will beat me. You're obviously capable and better than me. However, I'm not going to back down because of that. I accept your challenge, Todoroki!"

Todoroki seems to just nod in agreement as he leaves to go elsewhere.

"Hey, what about me?! Why did you challenge that damn nerd?!" Bakugo yells as he starts to storm after Todoroki only to be ignored.

"Everyone calm down," Aizawa mumbles as he enters the room. He looks across the students then sighs, "You should know how important this is. Don't slack in this because you can be replaced if someone is better than you, got it?"

Everyone immediately agrees.

Aizawa doesn't say anything else. He just leaves.

Then, it's the waiting game once more until they are asked to wait by the gates. It's finally their chance to show the world what they are capable of.

More waiting.

They attempt to listen to Present Mic for the introduction of the Sports Festival, but most of the students don't really listen. They are too excited or nervous.

Finally…

"This class has already made a wave in the media this year from the villain attack! It is your favorite hero course class, class 1-A!"

Present Mic screams through his microphone.

The students of class 1-A stand tall as they walk through the gate with confidence.
