2 Begin training

(MC POV)

I was looking for a place to stay right now. I didn't know who I was yet and if I was correct, then I was a new soul. Otherwise, I assume, I would have access to memories, no? But it didn't matter. He was now himself and that was all that mattered. But who was he? Should he give himself a name? One of his favourite characters was Gol D. Roger. The Pirate King had something about him that fascinated me since I saw him in the anime. His carefree smile, his wish for freedom, the way he died, his words, his journey and of course his strength.

I guess, I could take the name Roger for now. I would get his skills with the sword soon anyway, so it was fitting. I also liked the cutlass ACE that Roger wielded in battle. There is just something that I like about it. I'm not sure. I wonder if I could create it somehow using my Essence. There is the reality of marble, but I won't be able to afford that in a long time. I could create a one-time sword-conjuring ability. That would lower the price enormously.

But for now, there was something else I had to do. I walked back to the old man who gave me those answers. There were more things I could ask to find out where I was in terms of the story. I haven't seen anyone with any Katanas yet.

"Hello. It's me again. I was wondering whether the Shin'o Academy is allowing new students at this time?"

"What Academy? Boy, there aren't any Academies around here. You're not right in the head are you?"

"No Academy? Maybe it has another name, like Shinigami Academy?"

"No there is no such thing as an Academy in the Soul Society."

"I see. Do you know anything about weapons that grant you special abilities? Like Katanas or something like that?"

"Special abilities? Do you mean Kido? No there are no such weapons around here. Never heard of it."

"Aha. Well thank you anyway.", I said and then left there.

.

Now this could mean two things. Either I was born at a time before Zanpakuto's even existed, or that old man just never heard of them. I guess the first option is the more likely one. That makes my plan to grow stronger a bit more complex. But it's not all bad I guess. I can still do what I had planned and conjure ACE and then begin training Haki. This would allow me to gain some strength and defend myself should I encounter a Hollow or a crazy Shinigami. I remember they being bloodthirsty criminals back then.

So I begin to think about a skill I wish to create. Then the information comes to my head. [Weapon Summoning: 1'000'000'000'000 SP]

[Insert Enel's surprised face]

"What the f*ck is that?! Oh ... right. It does make sense in a way. Weapon summoning is a very broad description of a skill. With this, I could probably also summon Gae Bold, Mjolnir or even the infinity gauntlet."

I had to be more specific with this skill, otherwise I wouldn't ever get the skill.

[Swords Summoning: 1'000'000'000 SP]

Hmm, I guess that also makes sense. The sword of promised victory, Excalibur should also be included there. So let me make it even more specific.

[One Piece Swords Summoning: 100'000 SP]

Oi, that's still far too much. Ok, let me make it even more specific.

[ACE Sword Summoning: 40'000 SP]

Hmm, still too much. Ah, I know.

[Single Use ACE Sword Summoning: 10'000 SP]

Much better. I can work with that. Interesting that such a skill could even be created. But who am I to question the Essence? This works out fine. I guess I'll have to wait until the SP count reaches 10'000. I have 9'493 right now. That's about 9 minutes.

.

- 9 minutes later -

Ah, there we go. Now I can do it. So let me try this.

[Single Use ACE Sword Summoning Skill: 10'000 SP deducted]

I immediately used the skill and then had the cutlass ACE in my hands. Ace is a normal-sized cutlass with a slightly curved blade, with a saw hamon pattern adorned on the sides of the blade. It possesses a yellow hilt with a diamond shape pattern, a golden guard, as well as a thinner handguard running atop the hilt and a black sheath.

[Picture]

As one of the 12 Supreme Grade Meito, the quality of Ace's blade is ranked among the best, being one of the most powerful weapons ever created. It was used by the Pirate King Roger during most if not all of his great exploits, from the God Valley Incident to his battles with Whitebeard, and was never shown taking any damage, which served as proof of its immense durability. Roger frequently imbued the sword with Busoshoku as well as Haoshoku Haki. So I'll have a good time with this sword until I get my Zanpakuto and maybe later as well.

Now I only lack any technique that would allow me to use this beauty. I guess, I'll stick to physical exercise for now and as soon as the SP fills up again I can begin the real training.

.

.

(3rd Person POV)

Roger, as we will call the MC for the moment, started with physical exercise. As a fanfiction connoisseur, he began with the usual 'Saitama Training'. So 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 pull-ups, 100 squats and 10 km running. Although he didn't know how long he was running, he just ran until he passed out. It was a bit of a problem for him since there were a lot of skills he wanted to create but wasn't able to due to a lack of Skill Points. Nevertheless, he was awarded 100 SP after he completed his training on the first day.

This was how his first day went. After he fell unconscious, Roger woke up the next day, feeling incredibly hungry. His hunger had risen to about an 8 or 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. He looked at my SP and saw that they had risen to 79'293. So he immediately created the skill [Self-Sustencance].

[Self-Sustenance: Rank D - 20'000 SP]

His hunger fell as soon as he created the skill. From an 8.5 back down to a 4. He immediately felt better. He knew that this wasn't yet the best he could get. He was sure that when he upgraded the skill to C-rank, he would no longer need food or water. Right now it was only much a lower requirement. The upgrade of this skill costs 100'000 SP, which was impossible for him right now. But as soon as he had the required amount, he would buy it. He had no other choice than for him to truly focus on training right now, he would need it.

He was frustrated right now. There were so many skills he could use right now but wasn't able to. He didn't like stories where the MC used his cheat to just go ahead and buy one skill after the other. He preferred to train the skills he had right now or concentrate on one skill at a time. The skills he wanted were more auxiliary than active skills like Haki.

So with the 60'000 SP left, Roger went back to work.

.

Roger spent the time training in his Saitama workout plan, meditating to get some control over his spirit energy and looking for a place to stay. 11 hours later, he upgraded to [Self-Sustenance: Rank C - 100'000 SP]

He could feel that his hunger and thirst slowly decreased until it was 0. That was enough of that for now. Next, he was finally waiting to create the three skills he found important. Haki, Instant Dungeon (Gamer) and the experience from Gol D. Roger in terms of swordsmanship. Haki could wait for now, but the Instant Dungeon and swordsmanship skills were important.

[Instant Dungeon (the Gamer): Rank D - 300'000 SP]

[Swordsmanship Experience of Gol D. Roger: Rank N/A - 30'000 SP]

[Haki: Rank D - 50'000 SP]

Interestingly enough, swordsmanship from Gol D. Roger wasn't that expensive. This made sense as Roger wasn't known for being the most skilled like Mihawk. His strength came from his monstrous Haki. Haki in general was also only 50'000 SP due to this only giving Roger (the MC) the ability to wield it, it wasn't unlocked yet. That would be something he had to do himself.

And finally the Instant Dungeon from the webtoon 'The Gamer' was understandably the most expensive. The reason for that was because this skill allowed Roger to somewhat 'cheat' the Meta Essence. What that meant was that whenever he cleared one such dungeon, Roger would gain experience. Since he wasn't a Gamer he wouldn't get that or any of the loot drops, he would gain SP. That was his plan the entire time. But just like the EXP, the SP drops would get less and less over time.

The Instant Dungeon skill was perfect for Roger because it allowed him to fight against strong enemies. As the skills rank increased he would also unlock more and more things he could fight inside the dungeon. That was perfect for him because he had an unlimited amount of enemies he could fight whenever he wished and he would be able to level up his Haki at the same time as his swordsmanship. A win-win in the truest sense.

(Roger POV)

Finally! It has been 5 days since I bought the upgrade of the Self-Sustenance skill, plus or minus a few hours. I stood at 436'924 SP and was now ready to spend those Skill Points finally. I waited no longer and went to work. The first skill I created was Haki.

[Haki: Rank D - 50'000 SP]

[Instant Dungeon (the Gamer): Rank D - 300'000 SP]

The Instant Dungeon was the next one and after that, he created the Gol D. Roger swordsmanship 'skill'. He gained all of the experience concerning Roger's swordsmanship. This was good, he now had the chance to train it in a fight when he went into the dungeon.

Now I had 56'924 SP left and thought for a moment what to do with those. I had to prepare for the dungeons. I might encounter zombies and other monsters that could potentially infect me or harm me. So I had to be protected for that. The next thing I created was the skill regeneration.

[Regeneration: Rank D- 40'000 SP -> Low-Low Tier]

This was equivalent to Low-Low Tier healing. This means merely an accelerated healing ability for normal wounds, allowing the character to heal wounds that would normally take days, weeks, or even months much more quickly, sometimes even in just seconds. This would of course increase as I got more hurt and healed more.

Next was a resistance to infection.

[Infection Resistance: Rank D - 10'000 SP]

I wanted to also get a poison resistance but that wasn't happening. I only had 6'900 SP left. So I had to wait again. Never mind that. Right now, I was just happy to begin my true training and feel like a gamer. That was like a wet dream for me. But I still wouldn't create a system skill, that was just so overused.

|Instant Dungeon: Rank D

- Used to create instant dungeons. Stronger instant dungeons may be created at higher levels. Currently available ID list:

1. Empty ID - monsters: none

2. Zombie ID - monsters: zombies

3. Ghost ID - monsters: ghosts

4. Combined ID - monsters: zombies, ghosts|

.

"ID - Create!", I say and I feel the dimension shift around me. Suddenly stand on a limitless green field and can see zombies walk around randomly. This will be good for me. I can already feel the gains and the SPs flowing in. I'm very excited right now.

I unsheath ACE and then run towards the first Zombie. Using the experience from Gol D. Roger, which is now mine, I slash at the zombie's head and decapitate him.

[You have gained 100 SP.]

"Let's gooo!", I scream full of excitement. That however has the effect that the zombies notice me and are now approaching.

"Come on!"
