When Gu Nanyu arrived at school, she was aching all over her body.

It was as if someone had dismantled and reassembled her skeleton, all her joints hurt.

Fu Beichen is such a brute!

Gu Nanyu barely had any sleep on the previous night. When she arrived at school, she could not fight off her sleepiness, and fell asleep at her desk.

Gu Nanyu's took a spot at the last row in the classroom. Due to her poor academic performance, her teachers hardly paid any attention to her.

As a result, Gu Nanyu slept through the day, all the way until school was dismissed.

In her sleep, Gu Nanyu sensed that someone was watching her.

She jerked awake.

Then, she saw Ling Xiuqi who was standing right before her desk.

At that moment, all the other students had left. Gu Nanyu looked through the window, and realized that it was already noon.

She had slept through the entire morning.

"You didn't get enough rest yesterday?" asked Ling Xiuqi, looking at her.

"Exactly." Gu Nanyu rose to her feet, and moved around her limbs that went numb after such a long nap.

"Are you free in the afternoon? I haven't had a chance to thank you for your help the other day," said Ling Xiuqi as he looked at Gu Nanyu's left arm.

"You're most welcome. It's also my responsibility to make our school proud." Gu Nanyu had no intention of accepting his lunch invitation.

"If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have hurt your arm." Ling Xiuqi had been feeling guilty about injuring her arm.

"It has nothing to do with you," Gu Nanyu responded. She knew that Ling Xiuqi was not the reason behind her injury. Regardless, Gu Xiang'an would find a way to hurt her as long as she had the will to.

"After all, I was the main cause of your injury." Ling Xiuqi had been beating himself up for that.

Gu Nanyu stared at Ling Xiuqi. Not knowing how to reject the boy, she pursed her lips.

Gu Nanyu knew that Ling Xiuqi was a very stubborn person.

If he set his mind on something, he would never let it go so easily.

Ever since that incident, he had been feeling guilty. If he failed to seize this opportunity to show his gratitude, it would continue to bother him.

"Fine. I know there's a buffet store at the west gate of the school. We can go there." All Gu Nanyu wanted was to fill her stomach and go back to sleep.

Ling Xiuqi agreed, and both of them headed for the school gate.

When they arrived at the gate, Gu Nanyu saw a familiar car, and was immediately taken aback.

Gu Nanyu hid behind Ling Xiuqi, hoping that the person in the car would not notice her.

Before long, the car door swung open, and Fu Beichen got down from the car.

In his well-pressed military uniform, he stood upright in front of the car, as if no one could get past him to reach that car.

Initially, Gu Nanyu was expecting to see Jiang Yishan, but much to her surprise, Fu Beichen came to the school personally.

Gu Nanyu continued to hide behind Ling Xiuqi as Fu Beichen approached the couple.

"Hi, Uncle Fu," Ling Xiuqi greeted.

The Ling family and the Fu family had a very good relationship, and Fu Beichen was Ling Xiuqi's senior.

"Xiuqi, Nanyu is supposed to visit the hospital to change her wound dressing today." Fu Beichen then turned to Gu Nanyu and said, "Let's get into the car."

Realizing that Fu Beichen had his gaze fixed on her, Gu Nanyu felt a chill down her spine.

When she closed her eyes, she recalled vividly the episode that happened at dawn.

Fu Beichen was lying on top of her, his body positioned in between her legs, and their lips were locked.

It was an unsightly experience!

"I… I'll go to the hospital later. I have an appointment with Xiuqi." Conveniently, Gu Nanyu used Ling Xiuqi as an excuse.

"Sure, but the doctor will have to fracture your arm before he can fix them again." Fu Beichen threw her a side glance. Judging from his tone, it did not sound like a joke at all.

Gu Nanyu was rendered speechless.
