Chapter 32 - Worse Than A Beast

When she entered the house, Gu Nanyu saw Gu Jingrui furiously scolding their nanny.

However, nobody noticed that Gu Nanyu had come in.

The nanny was still new, but since she was young and pretty, something had been going on between her and Gu Xiang'an. Thus, she was often beaten and scolded by his wife.

Still, his wife could not do much to her as Gu Xiang'an would always protect her.

However, this time the nanny had done something to anger Gu Jingrui.

"Tomorrow, take your things as well as your salary for this month and leave the house instantly!" barked Gu Jingrui furiously.

The nanny replied innocently, "Old Master, this is really not my fault. You know, Little Ze is a rather simple boy. I was feeding him but he suddenly knocked over the bowl. I didn't mean to scald little Ze."

Despite her attempt at showing her innocence, the nanny looked completely fearless.

Currently, there was another more experienced nanny who was hired by Gu Yan'an in the house. Gu Nanyu called her Nanny Lim.

As she watched from the side, Nanny Lim was overcome with rage when she heard Nanny Xiaoli's words.

"You're lying! Little Ze is a good boy. He would never throw a tantrum at anyone. Moreover, Little Ze is scalded so badly, the soup must be extremely hot. Why would you feed him such boiling soup? What were you trying to do?"

Gu Nanyu who was listening from the side felt sickened when she heard Little Ze was hurt.

Without further ado, she raced toward Little Ze's room.

All she could see was a large blister on Little Ze's hand, treated with a blue medicinal cream for burns.

The burn stretched from his arm to the back of his hand.

When she saw his injury, Gu Nanyu felt as if a sharp blade had just stabbed through her heart. She felt so agonized that the raging wrath within her immediately erupted.

Hence, she ran out of the room, filled a glass with hot boiled water, and splashed it onto Nanny Xiaoli.

Since Xiaoli was wearing a short-sleeved shirt, the glass of water splattered right onto her shoulder, dripping along her entire arm.

With a loud shriek from Xiaoli, everyone only came to their senses and realized what Gu Nanyu had just done.

Everyone knew very well that Xiaoli was Gu Xiang'an's mistress at home.

Xiaoli's had scalded Little Ze and yet, she was neither anxious nor terrified. She even seemed unafraid and unbothered by her wrongdoing.

Needless to say, she obviously did that on purpose!

She had probably become overly audacious since Gu Xiang'an was protecting her. Perhaps, Gu Xiang'an was actually the one behind this!

Gu Xiang'an had tried to make things difficult for Gu Nanyu but failed, so he turned around and bullied a seven-year-old child instead!

Xiaoli's scream drove everyone out of their rooms. The first thing Gu Dongxue spotted when she came out was the glass in Gu Nanyu's hand and the blister on Xiaoli's arm.

"Gu Nanyu!" Gu Xiang'an who witnessed the scene yelled at her madly. "How dare you behave so rudely in front of all the adults! It was just an accident. Besides, Xiaoli has apologized to Little Ze. How dare you do this to her! Where's your tolerance and manners as a member of the Gu family?"

"My tolerance and manners are for humans. Why should I act like that toward a living being worse than a beast?" Gu Nanyu's gaze at Gu Xiang'an was as cold as ice.

"You!" Gu Xiang'an was at a loss of words. He immediately turned toward Gu Jingrui. "Father, look at Nanyu! He is so young but he talks back to me like this! He's implying that I'm worse than a beast!"

"Even though Third Uncle loves to take things personally, I'm afraid that even beasts aren't willing to be compared to you!" Associating them both would merely be an utter insult to the beasts!

"That's enough!" Gu Jingrui bellowed.
