56 56- Raijin VS Overhaul

The next day, there was a meeting first thing in the morning. The meeting is about any open cases the agency was currently handling. They would draw out a to do list of certain things that they plan on getting done today. Bubble girl and Lemillion were going to pay a visit to a hospital near by to talk with a victim that's been admitted there. On the other hand Centipeder had to go to court as the hero that solved a crime that happened, and give his statement. That left Raijin and Nighteye.
Bubble girl and Lemillion made sure to compose a list of questions that they'll ask the victim so that they have a full picture, and can persecute the villain. Then the two of them left.
Centipeder had all of the papers related to his case ready before leaving for the court.
Nighteye connected the agency phone number to his cellphone. If anyone calls the agency, NIhgteye's cellphone would ring instead. This way the two of them can leave the agency for patrol.
After everyone was ready they split and went their separate ways , Nighteye and Raijin started patrolling.
The two walked in silence. Aska seemed to be busy planning on how to make contact with Eri legally. He can't just bust down someone's house without the police and a warranty. He also can't say that he snuck into someone's house, that will make him the criminal.
"You seem to be distracted" - Nighteye's voice brought Aska out of his thoughts.
"If you know someone is doing something wrong, but you can't prove it, what do you do?" - Aska
"Why can't you prove it?" - Nighteye
"It's very well hidden" - Aska
"There is no such thing as a perfect criminal. They will slip up eventually. I would wait until that happens" - Nighteye
'That makes sense. Actually that's how they caught Overhaul. If Eri didn't run into Midoriya and Mirio then, none of them would've known about any of his crimes' Aska thought as he was kept surveying the area around

*Three Hours Later*
Bubble girl and Lemillion came back from the hospital after taking the victim's statement with the help of the police. When they came back they called Nighteye.
"How did everything go?" - Nighteye
"He gave us all the details he can remember. He said that it was night time and he couldn't see his assailant's face very well" - Bubble girl
"We will have to wait till the court lets us review the street camera that was near by" - Nighteye
"Anyway, how was your patrol? Anything happened?" - Bubble girl
"We stopped some petty burglars here and there. That reminds me, take Raijin and file the paper for those two burglars that we stopped. Show him how paper work is done" - Nighteye
"Yes sir" - Bubble girl said in her cheery voice
Bubble girl and Raijin went to the second floor. First they saved all the files in their database. Everything had the date and file name according to the case. They also printed everything and saved hard copies of everything.
After saving everything, Bubble girl showed Aska how to file the necessary paper work.
"We do this so that we can get paid" - Bubble girl explained as she filled out the paper
"How does it exactly work?" - Aska
"Heroes are public servants. Just like the police officers who get their salaries from tax money paid by the citizens, we get the same. But since each agency works on it's own, we have to send proof of our work. Once we capture someone we hand them over to the police then we get a police report number. The report will have the number of hero license of the hero who captured the villain. Depends on the case, we get paid accordingly" - Bubble girl
"I see. So not just the amount of cases but also the difficulty" - Aska nodded in understanding
"Pretty much. Though the difficulty doesn't have to be combat related. For example the case Centipeder had to go to court for today was a very difficult one, but he didn't fight a single villain.
He saw some thug selling drugs in some back ally. His first thought was to capture the drug dealer. But then someone approached the drug dealer and handed him a bag. That was his supplier. Centipeder followed the supplier, it turns out he's some bouncer of a club down town. Centipeder surveyed the club and it turns out that under the club in the basement there was a meth lab run by the owner, so it was obvious the club owner is involved. That's not all. Centipeder saw some shady deal going on between the club owner and a politician. Without throwing one punch Centipeder took down an entire drug dealing chain, all the way from the politician who supported them, to the back ally drug dealer" - Bubble girl
"Wow! That's very impressive" - Aska
"I know. But that's just one example. There are other ways for a case to be difficult so be careful" - Bubble girl
"Thank you for the advice" - Aska
'It seems that not everything is about brute strength. The worst villains are the ones that stay hidden' Aska thought as he followed bubble girl back to the first floor
When they got back Centipeder was back from court.
"How did everything go?" - Bubble girl ran to Centipeder and asked. She seemed to be invested in his case
Centipeder proceeded to tell her about how it went, after that, Bubble girl and Lemillion were tasked with patrol and Centipeder was doing some paperwork about some other cases.
"You can rest until dinner time, then we'll go out on patrol again" - Nighteye told Aska
"Alright" - Aska got up and went to the fourth floor to lay on his bed for some time, maybe read something.
While Aska was laying on his bed, he decided to make a quick phone call
"Yo! What's up dude" - Lenox
"Nothing much what about you" - Aska
"I'm almost finished with my training for the hero tournament" - Lenox
"I Can't wait to watch you lose" - Aska
"As if. I'll show you how winning really looks like" - Lenox
"Anyway, you enjoy your little game, I'm busy with my internship. I have to go catch some villains"
"..."
"Yo! You there?" - Aska asked when he heard no response back
"You're already in the field?" - Lenox
"Yep. Jealous?" - Aska
"NO"
"You sound jealous" - Aska smirked
"*sigh* I wish I can start getting in field experience" - Lenox sounded depressed
"Baby steps man. Take your time" - Aska
"Baby steps my ass" - Lenox
Aska and Lenox chatted for some more time. After he was done with Lenox, he called his parents.
Soon enough it was time for Raijin and Nighteye to go on patrol again.
It seemed repetitive, but Aska understood that he will not be dealing badass villains all the time.
Aska had started to subtly redirect Nighteye towards the area where Eri is being kept.
'From what I understand she seems to run away often. Please run away. That would make it easier for me to protect her' - Raijin was racking his brain to find a way to save her without getting in trouble.
The patrol was relatively peaceful. The two of them didn't talk much outside of commands from Nighteye.
Later that night, Aska waited till everyone was gone before he snuck out again. He wore his all black outfit and snuck back into the Shie Hassaikai mansion.
Using the same rout, he was able to reach Eri's room.
'Those fuckers are experimenting on her again! Does she go through that every night?!' - Aska
"huh?" - Chronostasis turned around and looked at the door way
"What is it" - Overhaul looked up from what he was doing
"Nothing, I thought someone was looking at my back. It seemed malicious" - Chronostasis
"Stay focused. Don't get distracted, she can die if we make a single mistake, and we can't let that happen just yet" - Overhaul
The two went back to their experiments on Eri, who was strapped to her bed
Aska waited till they were done and he snuck back in Eri's room.
Eri was laying on the bed with a lifeless look on her face. Tears were trailing down her cheeks. The sight made Aska almost explode watching a small girl suffer like that.
"Eri" - Aska whispered her name
She looked at him. Once she saw who it was her eyes light up with hope for a moment.
"You came back" - Eri said in a haggard voice.
"I'm sorry that I haven't taken you out of here yet. Tell me can you run away from here. Even if it was just for a few minutes, that would be enough" - Aska said with a sad tone
He was angry with himself. He knew that there is a girl getting tortured every night. He knew where it happened. He knew who did it. He knew what is the reason for it. Yet he could only hope this little girl can run away on her own.
Eri nodded her head weakly.
"I know how to run out, but I'm scared" - Eri nodded
"It's ok." - Aska creased her hair.
Aska stayed with Eri for sometime before he had to leave.
Eri had explained to him that she can run away in the morning when Overhaul would be away with some of his lackeys.

Early next morning, Raijin and Nighteye went out on patrol.
"Is there a reason you insisted on going out this early. You even picked the direction where we patrol" - Nighteye
"I have a gut feeling that something bad will happen in this area" - Raijin gave a half-assed answer
"A gut feeling, or does it have to do with the person you want to save" - Nighteye
"Both" - Aska didn't say any thing more
While the two were walking, Aska had expanded his observation haki far enough to observe the entire neighborhood. Aska can see a small girl running through an underground tunnel, she finally made it to a back door. She waited until some guy walked past her before she stepped from under a table, then she eventually made it to the street behind the mansion.
The second she was out Aska moved in her direction. He can feel someone walking behind her and almost catching up to her.
Aska reached the area where she was about to come out of back ally.
In an instant he saw her running at him. She didn't recognize him, but she wanted to run away from the man behind her.
Raijin squatted down to be eye level with her. He moved his mask slightly, and Eri saw his face. She ran at him even faster.
Once he knew that she had recognized him, he put his mask back on quickly.
"Are you ok?" - Raijin pretended to not know her
She hugged him and didn't want to go back to with the other person
"Sorry heroes. My daughter likes to run around a lot. Come on Eri let's go back home" - Overhaul had stepped out of the shadow
"Your daughter?" - Nighteye asked. He was no idiot. He can see how much the girl was shaking
"Yes my daughter" - Overhaul
"Why is your daughter shaking, bare foot and her clothes are all tattered? She seems more like a prisoner" - Raijin in a commanding tone
"Little Eri here likes to play rough. Now give me back my daughter, we have to go back home" - Overhaul in a threatening tone
"Is he your dad?" - Nighteye asked Eri, who was still hugging Raijin
Just as Eri was about to shake her head no, "Eri" - Overhaul
"My quirk let's me read other people's minds. I know exactly what you're doing to this girl" - Raijin in an angry voice
"Then you have to die" - Overhaul took off his glove and ran at Raijin.
"I lied" - With that Raijin sent a kick to overhaul's abdomen sending him flying into a trash bin.
Raijin's knee has disappeared, a moment later strands of lightning formed his knee back.
'Quick reflexes! The second I attacked him he touched my knee. If my body can't turn into lightning then I would've died just now'
