Last Sentinel

Cristen never met her parents. He had been abandoned at the gate of a monk's monastery in a secluded mountain area. Here at the monastery, he lived, studied, worked, especially in the kitchen, and sometimes helped the gardener.

From an early age, Cristen was fascinated by adventure and spent time exploring the forests and mountains around the monastery.

One day, during a walk, he discovered a secret staircase inside a tree and, from there, access to a plateau masked by a dense curtain of trees. A portion of that place collapsed under his weight, and Cristen fell into a cave. He explored the cave for hours until he found a more significant giant egg than a pumpkin.

Not knowing what to do with the egg, Cristen took it to the monastery and hid it in the cellar. After a few months, an invisible magical bird emerged from that egg, blending effortlessly in the air. Cristen was immediately attracted to this bird, named her Aira, and they became inseparable.

Together they did extraordinary things. The bird took him on its back, and they flew together to the most remote and unsuspected places. Aira had remarkable powers, cast air spells, and showed Cristen incredible things no human had seen.

Cristen and Aira were caught in a heavy storm during a walk and had to seek shelter. They found an old and mysterious house on the city's outskirts. With attention, they entered and explored the rooms. Finally, they discovered an ample, bright space with books all over the walls from floor to ceiling. An older man came to meet him and told Cristen he was a Last Sentinel wizard.

They spent a week at the wizard's house. Cristen has read several books recommended by Last Sentinel.

They were at the table when the wizard gave him a special gift: Two scrolls for studying air spells.

"Cristen, it's been a week, and you haven't asked anything about your return to the monastery."

"I completely forgot. I don't know if I want to return there."

"If you wish, you can stay here. This whole house belongs to you. You have a few tasks to complete to determine if you are who I think you are."

"Who can I be?"

The Last Sentinel gestured to the tall wall lined with books.

"In more of those books, it is said that he will be coming on the wind's wings one day."

"Who should come?"

"The one who will be called LightKnight and do incredible things. You will start your first journey. I believe this is your destiny."

"So, destiny?" Cristen became even more attentive.

"A fragility of human life. It could be whimsy if it didn't have tragic undertones. It is said that everyone is born with his destiny. Man is empty, and the future is wrapped in indifference and cynicism. Legends say fate fell in love with some people predestined to become heroes."

"Great job."

"You have to travel to the city of Istergadre, the Bridge Between Continents in the land of Kistrioniam, a mountainous and rugged country. Here is the Brotherhood of adventurers. You look for their boss, Theorreden, and tell him I sent you to him. What will happen next? He will decide. You will become stronger and stronger. I will teach you one of the last things you can learn here. Teleportation is a spell that brings you here from wherever you are. You can move instantly over long distances. Hold these two scrolls. One is teleportation, and the second is the world map. After you study them, the two scrolls will disappear as usual."

"I can't believe this is happening to me."

"To believe. It would be best if you got strong. The forces of evil will come upon these lands as they have long before. Apart from you, no one else on earth can oppose them. But you will stay on your feet after such a confrontation. For now, you need patience and trust in the good that you represent. We cannot rely on anyone else but ourselves to combat the darkness that threatens to consume us."
