Embarking on a journey that crosses the veils of realms and the depths of ancient powers, Light's quest is one of both internal and external conquest. He challenges not only the entities that dare stand in his way but also the very notions of destiny and divine will. Making Connections

Light had no need to sit down and cultivate, as he could just let the yin yang scripture run passively. Currently he was indifferently gazing at the door. He wasn't a fan of being disturbed like this. Soon there was a knock on his door. "Excuse me sir, I'm here to deliver a message to you on behalf of my lord, can you let me in?"

A seductive sounding voice of a young woman rang out.

"Come in." Light spoke.

The door knob turned as a young lady with average looks walked in, closing the door behind her, locking it. Immediately a formation rang out in the room blocking all senses.

"You're a naughty boy, letting a lady like me into your room alone." She spoke with a smirk. "Unfortunately I don't have the time to play with you, its a pity. Hand over all your belongings and I'll give you a quick death." As she spoke a barrier of water energy surrounded the entire room isolating it from senses.

"Are you with others or are you alone?" Light spoke indifferently, locking eyes with her.

"Trying to stall?" Saying this the woman jumped at Light holding a dagger in her left arm.

As she flew towards Light, she found that her speed had increased exponentially sending her neck right into a large hand.

KUGH, she choked feeling the pressure on her throat.

Before she could utter another word Light spoke softly. "What's your motive, why do you have ill will against me, or are you just taking care of all witnesses?" What answered Light was a dagger that slashed at his abdomen.

SCHLAT. THUD.

Blood splattered on the floor as a detached arm landed with a thud.

The young woman's eyeballs bulged as her throat vibrated wanting to scream but nothing came out. A black layer of energy danced around her mouth sealing it. Seeing the dark energy, the young woman's eyes went wider.

"I am no stranger to torture, though I must say recently my skills have now improved." A wisp of black energy entered into her forehead. Her entire body started to convulse as her eyes began to roll back.

Nightmares. Everyone had them, but what Light had sent her into was a world of hell. The agony she felt, equivalent to the horror everyone on the Jossflame planet felt. All for a single individual.

Soon the convulsing stopped, but the woman's body was still shaking. Light let go of her neck as she fell onto the floor like a wet towel.

SLAP. A harsh slap knocked out a few of her teeth as she was forcibly awoken.

"Now, tell me everything."

---

A few minutes passed and now Light was the only one in his room. The barrier was gone and there was no trace of the young woman. If one was very attentive they could see Light's cultivation had gone up a very slight amount.

'30 warriors to assassinate a prince. No survivors were to be left on this ship, so as long as they did not alert anyone they could begin robbing huh. Now what can I do to get something out of this scheme?.'

From the woman's information, if she didn't appear, someone would come looking for her and find her traces here. Light got up off the bed. Since trouble was going to come knocking, he wouldn't wait. He left his room. Looking down the long corridor it was eerily silent. Walking towards the stairwell to the deck he was stopped by a seemingly normal looking middle aged man.

"Hey let me ask you a few-" SPLAT. A white light flashed and blood painted the walls as a head rolled on the ground. And yet there was no noise from behind any doors. Either everyone was dead, or they were taken somewhere.

----

On the deck, there were hundreds of hostages. There were also some decapitated bodies lying about. At the end of the deck facing the back of the boat were two individuals. There was the handsome prince of the Ye empire staring off into the sea and beside him a black robed bulky figure stood with his arms behind his back.

"Are you sure you can handle the blood of all these people's lives on your hands?" A man spoke out. He was leading a group of 28 individuals all clothed in black robes, all of them with cultivations at the peak of foundation establishment.

"You ask for my life to exchange with these hundreds of people? How can I not feel insulted?" The prince turned around to face the group.

The hostages' faces turned another shade paler as they shivered in fear.

"A King is worth a thousand soldiers, and a man must value his life above all." The prince continued. "If you came here to negotiate, you should all crawl back to your masters that sent you."

The sound of tightening fists and drawn weapons could be heard from the opposing group.

"We know the identity of your bodyguard, even if we all fought we cannot beat you. So be it then, we are dead anyways, why not blow this ship to smithereens and take you down with us!" The man took off his robes to show he was strapped to the brim with explosive talismans. Four others amongst the crowd stood out of the group, also revealing many talismans strapped all over their upper body.

The prince frowned slightly.

"Killing yourself because someone sent you on a death mission? How worthless are your lives."

The bodyguard of the prince leaned over to whisper to the prince. "The explosions shouldn't be too much of an issue, but that treasure will have to be used up my lord."

"Tch. How unfortunate, It took a lot to get my hands on that treasure." The prince spoke back.

At this moment the iron door to the deck opened up with a creak. Everyone turned around in unison.

"So you finally decided to show up, Lisa, you took an awfully long amount of time. I wonder if you enjoyed yourself." The leader of the assassins spoke with a look of disgust on his face.

A blinding light returned his words. The bodyguard's face turned serious for the first time as he shielded the prince.

The blinding light only lasted for a second. Everyone began opening their eyes, exclaiming in shock as they did so.

In front of them were Several decapitated heads, among them were the leader and the other individuals strapped up with explosive talismans. There were also several amongst the group of assassins who were missing arms or gruesomely cut up.

"It may not trouble you to blow up this ship, but it will for me." Accompanying a cold indifferent voice was the figure of Light.

The rest of the injured and shocked assassins steadied their resolve, some of them heading towards the prince, some heading towards Light.

Light stood still with his sword drawn. The cold wind of the ocean brushing his hair across his face. Once again with his right hand he slashed out the sword. Each time he did so another would fall. One of the assassins circled around him out of reach of the sword.

"I got you!"

Light merely pointed at him with his index finger on his free hand, as a beam of light created a small hole in his skull.

The chaotic battle continued. The shock waves injured some hostages and the remaining energy from Light's slashes cut up a few as well.

On the prince's side things were more brutal, the bodyguard seemed to be a body cultivation, he used his fists to mash the assassins into paste. His cultivation was also revealed. Second level of the golden core stage.

With a final slash of light into the sky, Light had executed all but one of the enemies on his side.

One assassin was left. He grabbed onto a middle aged man and took him hostage, running at Light using a human shield.

'You should at least hesitate now!'

As the young man neared Light the last thing he saw was the disdain in his eyes. Then the world began to tilt. Both the man and the hostage were bisected.

"Brother!" A tied up man from amongst the other hostages screamed.

Light did not have time to care, he was not a hero, if someone were to come to him he would kill them efficiently. Hesitating because of a hostage is the beginning of a losing battle.

The prince's bodyguard also finished his battle.

30 bodies either bisected or crushed into a paste were scattered about the deck of the ship. The hostages all huddled around the edges of the deck in fear. They could tell neither Light nor the prince cared for their lives.

Light sheathed his sword and began walking towards the prince, his white robes stained with some blood.

"I know you would most likely be fine even without my intervention, but I think I still saved you some trouble." Light spoke with a slight smile.

At this close distance anyone could tell that Light's cultivation was at the second layer of the foundation establishment realm. Skipping 8 levels! No, considering there were 10 individuals he fought at strength above the foundation establishment. Skipping 10 levels of strength! Unheard of!

"My name is Light." Light cupped his fists.

"You see, I lack connections, I was wondering if you would be able to help me with something." Light continued.

The prince looked calm on the exterior but inside he was incredibly shocked, his bodyguard no less.

"You are right in that you saved us trouble, if I can help you with whatever you need I will do so. I am Ye Kangxi, the second prince of the Ye empire. This is my bodyguard, Ye San." The prince cupped his fists to return the greeting. Normally because of his status he wouldn't but he saw great value in Light.

"Let us talk somewhere private." The prince spoke.

As he did, he sent a string of golden energy towards a male hostage, it cut the ropes he was bound by.

"You can free the rest of them." He spoke to the freed man.

"Thank you prince."

"Lets leave."

The prince beckoned his bodyguard as the trio headed into the ship. The prince led them towards his quarters on the ship. It was a grand room around 20 meters in width and length. There were two couches facing each other in the center. The prince sat down on one couch with his bodyguard standing behind him.

"Please, take a seat."

Light sat down on the opposite couch.

As all parties were seated, the prince initiated the conversation.

"How can I help you Light?" The prince put on an amicable smile.

"Before we get into that matter, I would like to know the information you have on the central province, it is all related." Light responded.
