Chapter 16 | breaktime chitchat
now that julia found out his brother's identity, she is sworn to keep it safe.
"hurry up big bro, your gonna be late" julia forgot to check the time anyway.
"what do you mean? its 3am in the morning.." jo checked his watch and he has no reason to panic anyway.
"h-how..?"
"nonetheless, does li know that I am darklight?"
"trust me, nobody knows, even your 13 year old sister doesn't know who you are"
"oh ok.. good to hear"
"by the way, what time are you going to work?" his sister asked.
"6am but I have to arrive earlier than that, which I'll head off at 5am." jo replied. "why don't you go back to sleep? its still early."
julia layed down on his bed and continued to sleep anyway. she was still awake at 12 midnight but she only slept for 2 hours because she couldn't sleep.
the next morning, he brought his sisters to school and went back to his work.

"oh so its Thursday today... atleast we get to study 1 subject for tomorrow's exam later.." kat said.
"I know right. finally... weekends here we come..." daisy was still asleep and they are busy talking while waiting for exams.
li arrived on time and greeted her friends
"good morning rats!" li waved to her friends and went to her seat.
"good morning rat" kat replied to her.
"wait y'all guys are still sleepy?" li asked while she took out her English book to review and opened it.
"I literally studied overnight without rest" daisy replied.
"but how..?"
"even if I don't feel like reviewing anyway."
"damn... you guys are so lucky, you guys get to use your phones even if its school days meanwhile I'm the unlucky friend who has ridiculously strict parents that I couldn't use my phone on weekdays plus they are forcing me to surrender it." she scoffed in pain and then she realized that she had to be more sneakier since her parents have been learning her patterns so she could have low chances to do whatever she wants secretly. just like a spy training.
the teacher came into the classroom and started distributing test papers.
"tsk, I just wanted to sleep more ugh" daisy whispered it to herself.
...
"next client please." jo said. then his new patient came.
"so today is my schedule for an appointment with you right?" his client wants him to confirm it.
"oh, yes..." jo confirmed it and tried to show a little bit of confidence since he has been antisocial when he was young and ofcourse, he is a shy man who could act kinda weird and awkward but he is trying his best to interact with people more.
"ok so... my child is suffering from a mental illness, what treatment would you prescribe us for ADHD?"
jo prescribed a medicine that could help cure adhd on his client's child.
after the appointment... they had lunch break...
"oh it's you jo!" a familiar female voice went to him.
"ummm sasha..? what do y-you need?" jo replied nervously.
"relax, but can we eat lunch together and have a friendly chat..?" sasha calmly said.
"oh ok.." he answered.
they went to a nearby cafe and eat their lunch together.
"heya boy, do you want me to pay the food?" she asked.
"uh... can I p-pay instead..?" he stuttered and felt embarrassed for her.
"no no it's okay.. why are you stuttering anyways" she calmly told him that she could treat him on lunch. sasha is a loyal friend.
"wait no! I'm not stuttering ok? I don't stutter when I face my patients anyways"
jo pretending to be confident but in reality, he denies the truth.
...
during recess, kat and daisy went to the canteen. but they are forgetting something...
"psst, hey kat."
"yeah?"
"let's go to the canteen"
"but wait a second... how about li? she feels very lonely" kat suggested, then daisy added as a joke "and emo-"
"just shut it already! atleast let li join us, whenever she tries to join a group, she always gets rejected-"
"hey! I heard that!" li cutted her off.
"ohhh uhh li... do you want to come with us in the cantee-"
"nah, I don't care if I'm alone here anyways."
"don't worry we are not gonna talk about superheroes anymore we swear-"
"eh? ok then" li chuckled.
