She leaps into him. Since she can float, she literally hangs around. His new armour prevents her from being able to touch his skeletal form. She touches his head, the armour covers him completely from head to toe.

This is something Pluto did intentionally. The moment it started forming, he tried his hardest to picture his favourite relic game.
