1 Chapter 1: unboxing

It was late at night when I arrived at 362 Ocean way lane, a place I hoped would be good for new beginnings. It was a rather large house to me as I was wondering how I would be able to fill up all of that empty space alone. The outside of the house was dirtied from a mixture of mud, dirt, and what looked to be some kind of yellow substance, which I later found out to be old stains of pollen from the earlier spring season. The houses color had faded and looked like it needed a fresh coat of a whitish blue paint along with some other necessary maintenance. As I stepped out of the taxi which had brought me to my new home I was greeted by a salty breeze coming from the ocean nearby.

I walked up to my new home seeing that all of my belongings had arrived before me and were left on the front porch. Most of the boxes were wet. From what I could assume it was due to rain as my surroundings looked to have had drenched sometime before my arrival. The only thing I could hope is that my belongings didn't get ruined by the journey or the weather. I then opened up the front door of my new home and was presently surprised that the place had come with many different accommodations already waiting for me.

When going into the house you were greeted be a closet by the door and an empty hallway leading to the kitchen. The kitchen was a decent size and had new appliances such as a dishwasher, stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, and a toaster. As I continued to explore I found the kitchen was connected to the living room which had new furniture waiting for me. There was a couch and loveseat waiting for me with a coffee table in the middle of the floor. Upon further inspection, there was a letter on top of the table which had been addressed to me.

I put the letter in my jacket pocket and continued to look around my new surroundings. I later found a staircase that led to another room similar to the living room but with a different type of furniture. The room seemed to more of a loft than that of a separate room as most of the place was visible from the first floor. The furniture upstairs was more relaxed then what I had seen previously. The furniture was very comfortable and was more suited for a person of my age. In the room, there was also a big TV and shelves surrounding it waiting to be filled with things of entertainment.

The last room in the house was my bedroom. It was empty as that the only things I didn't need to be supplied to me was my bedroom suite and other personal items I had brought from home. The room connected to the bathroom which was twice the size of the one from my previous home. In all actuality, the living room was just about the whole size of where I lived before.

As I was done with my inspection of the home I went back outside to bring the boxes in and started to unpack my belongings. Near the end of my unpacking, I noticed the time " Ah " I exclaimed as I looked at the clock. After checking the time difference from here to home I realized I still had time to call them. So I dialed the phone and heard a voice tell me " Hello this is Hawaii correctional center how may I direct your call..."
