3 Chapter 3 - Where am I?

"Didn't I just die? Didn't they betray me and stab me in the chest?" muttered Darius as he looked around himself, unsure of what was happening.

However, his head was in so much pain as if someone had removed memories from it or added some, he wasn't sure.

As he looked around himself, he was in some shabby room that seemed to be like some sort of wooden cabin.

Inside it, there was a bed, and some essentials to live like some clothes and food, but that was it, there was nothing else for Darius inside of it, well there was also a mirror but who cares about a mirror?

"Wait, where am I? Did they bring me here?" said Darius, thinking that his presumed friends had brought him here.

Then, he stood up, wanting to see what was outside this wooden cabin.

Was he in the middle of nowhere?

"Was everything simply a dream?"

However, he quickly dismissed this thought of his as it didn't make any sense.

He wasn't in the same room as yesterday, his body felt different, he didn't know why but he simply felt different by walking around.

"Did something happen to my body?" muttered Darius as he headed toward the mirror in his room which was half-destroyed.

Arriving in front of it, Darius couldn't help but be shocked by what he was currently seeing.

He was seeing himself, however, what he was seeing, well... it wasn't him.

'My face? My body? Why is everything so different?' thought Darius as he simply started touching different parts of his body as if analyzing them.

His dark hair which he had in his past was now white. His eyes which had been of a beautiful blue color, were now red. But it wasn't a dark red which can't be easily seen, it was a bright red which could easily catch the eyes of everyone around.

However, that wasn't the most shocking thing about him, his body was.

'Why am I so frail looking?' thought Darius as he just couldn't understand why his body had changed so much overnight.

His body was so slim and unfit that Darius could see some of his bones through the skin, he could literally see the shape of the bone of his arm.

Then, as he kept looking at himself, his headache which was still ongoing seemed to amplify as if currently receiving a shock from what he was seeing.

"ARGHH! What's happening to me?" shouted Darius at the top of his lungs, not understanding how any of this was possible.

Memories that weren't his, kept entering his mind as he could see the younger version of a person with white hair, and red eyes, playing around. Well, it looked like they were playing around, but it seemed to be in some sort of dark environment.

The people who were testing the children seemed to be playing with them, however, something confused Darius.

Those adults were sometimes flying in the air, or moving at a speed which wasn't humanly possible.

Then, he remembered being left alone in the middle of nowhere, clearly left to die by some person.

This part of his memories was quite fuzzy as he just couldn't remember much about that figure, however, there was one thing that he remembered, it was his eyes, there were also red just like his.

A few minutes after being left to die, he remembered going in the direction of this wooden cabin and arriving there, however, in his memory, he was much younger as he could see himself looking at the mirror just like he was currently doing.

Then, all the memories vanished as if they had never existed and his headache which had been present was also gone as if it had never existed.

"Where the fuck am I and who the hell am I?" said Darius, as he knew that all those memories clearly weren't his.

He had just seen people flying and moving at a speed which hadn't been the best athletes on Earth, so there was simply no way.

Wanting to know more about his surroundings, he decided that he should probably go look outside this wooden cabin, as he wanted to see if his memories corresponded with the current situation.

He opened the door, and all he saw was trees all around him.

"I really am in some little shack in the middle of nowhere."

Then, he could see what seemed to be some sort of city far away from him since his wooden house was on a cliff which made it possible to see what was close and far away from him.

"Well, that doesn't look like any sort of buildings that would be found on Earth," said Darius as he could see some buildings that didn't look like what was built on Earth.

'So, am I really not on Earth anymore and in some different world which I know nothing about, except that some people are really powerful and can fly around at will.'

Then, as he debated inside his mind if he should go over to the city which he was currently seeing, he started hearing some footsteps from behind him.

It seemed that someone was coming over to this cabin.

'Why would anyone be coming here, I'm in the middle of nowhere goddammit, is he here to kill me?' thought Darius, as he recalled some of the memories which he had just seen.

'Am I some sort of criminal? Is that why I had to get away from that city? Is that why he left me to die?' thought Darius, imagining many unbelievable scenarios.

'What the fuck even is my luck? Living as a slave in my previous life and now I'm in the body of someone that clearly isn't living his best life.'

Then, the footsteps which he had just heard started to get louder as it was clear that a person was approaching the cabin.

"Darius, I'm here, come out," shouted a feminine voice.
