Bai Chenyu's eyes widened in surprise as he read the message:

< You have acquired the Life Simulator System >

< At the end of the simulation, you will be given rewards that you would have encountered if you were there in person to choose from; please note the option to use the simulation function will appear randomly >

< Do you wish to use the simulation? >

"Wow, is this really my golden finger?" Bai Chenyu quietly celebrated, trying to calm his racing heart.

But then he hesitated, realizing that this wasn't the right place to activate it. He glanced over at a group of boys who were bullying a younger child nearby.

"Just because your father's the Patriarch, so many family resources are being squandered on you!" Su Yang angrily shouted as he assaulted Su Chen, with his lackeys joining in.

"Su Yang, those resources come from my father's personal stash, and he can use them as he pleases," Su Chen retorted between his bruised face, his glare fixed on Su Yang.

With a stomp, Su Yang pressed his foot against Su Chen's face, forcing him to the ground.

"So what? It's still a waste to spend it on someone like you with no cultivation talent. He should just step aside and let my grandfather take the role of Patriarch. He is not worthy of being the Patriach," Su Yang taunted.

Bai Chenyu let out a sigh. This scene was all too familiar to him. According to the novel he had read, he knew that many of the clan elders were plotting to overthrow his father from his position as the Patriarch of the family. In the future, they would even attempt to assassinate his family.

Bai Chenyu observed as they left Su Chen on the ground, battered and bruised. He refrained from offering any assistance because it was best to stay away from the protagonist who seemed to find trouble at every turn. He couldn't help but cast a pitying look to Su Yang, knowing that Su Yang was oblivious to his impending fate at the hands of Su Chen in the future.

"Yeah, I better keep my distance from him. Let's go and check the system," Bai Chenyu said, leaving the scene with a grin, his excitement evident as he rubbed his hands together.

Bai Chenyu retreated to his room and sat down on his worn-out bed, a gleam of anticipation in his eyes.

"Start the Simulation," he whispered to himself, ready to try out this system.

[Ding, the simulation begins]

[Day 1: Elder Mu wakes you up by banging on your door, scolding you for not waking up earlier. After completing your cleaning duties, you wonder when you'll awaken your spiritual roots. Suddenly, a notification appears, and you're ecstatic that you've finally received your "golden finger." You witness Su Chen being bullied but choose to ignore him. Returning to your room, you start the simulation and are presented with a choice of rewards: a rock, torn clothes, or the lowest cultivation talent. Frustration fills you, but there's nothing you can do.]

[Day 2: You wake up and stretch in your room. While you're stretching, Elder Mu barges in, banging on your door to wake you up. He realizes you're already awake, which only makes him angrier that he can't scold you for being late, so he assigns you even more work.]

[Day 3: Elder Mu gathers all the disciples who haven't awakened their spiritual roots privately. You conceal the fact that you've awakened by using the system's help. Some disciples display exceptional talent, and Elder Mu takes them as his disciples. You can't help but sigh in pity because you know they are most likely dead meat.]

[Day 11: You learn that Elder Mu will take his disciples on a journey and be absent for a year. You look at them with sympathy, suspecting that he might be delivering them to the Blood Sect to extract their blood essence.]

[Day 118: You diligently cultivate but only manage to reach the 4th stage of the Mortal Shedding Realm. Frustration overtakes you as you curse your low talent and the seemingly useless items you obtained from the simulation.]

[Day 261: You gaze blankly at the sky, feeling worried because your cultivation hasn't improved, and the Outer Court Selection exam is just around the corner. Soon, the elders from the Outer Sect will arrive to determine who qualifies to enter.]

[Day 359: Another opportunity for simulation arises, and you pray for a beneficial outcome because the selection is tomorrow. You fear that Elder Mu might not wait for you to awaken and might decide to eliminate you directly. The first two options yield useless items, leaving you cursing your luck. However, the third option presents a treasure. You use it and achieve a breakthrough, advancing from the Mortal Shedding Realm to the Mortal Refinement Realm, barely meeting the minimum qualifications for entry.]

[Day 360: You take the test and manage to pass, but the overseeing elders don't seem very impressed. They pay more attention to the more outstanding disciples. Before you look away, you catch a glimpse of the protagonist, Su Chen, envying those who qualified. You roll your eyes, knowing he will likely become more formidable than most of the disciples in the future.]

[Day 362: You hear rumors that Elder Mu was furious because a disciple he wanted to train has entered the Outer Court. You're certain he was referring to you, and he wanted to recruit you into the Blood Sect and extract your blood essence. As you relax a bit, you already figure out that he hates you because he is jealous of your better looks.]

[Day 552: You've reached the 2nd stage of the Mortal Refinement Realm, and you can't help but lament your low talent. You believe that if it were someone else, they would have reached the 6th stage by now.]

[Day 729: Nearly a year has passed, and you feel despondent as you're still stuck in the 2nd stage of the Mortal Refinement Realm. The rewards from the simulation haven't been of much help.]

[Day 735: You decide to give the simulation another try and are pleasantly surprised to receive an intermediate sky-rank sword. Excited, you head inside to test it out.]

[Day 744: Su Yang and his gang confront you, coveting your sword. They are much stronger than you, and you're reluctant to hand over your precious weapon.]

[Day 787: While you're outside on a mission, you chance upon Elder Mu, who is also surprised to see you. He attacks and severely injures you. Somehow, you manage to escape the sect but don't report the incident to anyone, as you believe that no one would believe an ordinary disciple like you. As a consequence of abandoning the mission, you receive a punishment in the form of a month-long denial of cultivation resources.]

[Day 912: The Inner Court Disciple examination is approaching, but you're only at the 5th stage of the Mortal Refinement Realm. To enter the exam, one must be at the Mortal Ascension Realm, and you sigh at your perceived lack of talent.]

[Day 8761: You're now 35 years old and have reached the 8th stage of the Mortal Refinement Realm. You're distressed to see that others your age have been in the Inner Sect for years, and some have even become elders. Suddenly, you discover that the system has unlocked a new function called the drawing function, which offers random rewards like sky-rank physique, techniques, physiques, and bloodlines. You draw a reward, and it propels you to the 1st stage of the Mortal Ascension Realm. You sigh with relief, knowing you'll finally be able to enter the Inner Court.]

[Day 8881: You've been an Inner Sect disciple for some time, and people are starting to pay attention to you due to your rare special physique. This attention brings some jealousy, and you end up being bullied.]

[Day 8885: A woman kidnaps and forces you to practice the Dao of Life with her because you've regained the natural beauty you had as a child. You're distressed because you've lost your virginity to an unattractive disciple.]

[Day 8887: You learn that she has a partner and cheated on him with you. The furious unattractive male disciple visits and kills you.]

[Simulation End]
