The Aura Selection Test (2)

"Next up, Julius Yellbrink!"

"Fire element, medium affinity!"

"Following which, Terra Fina!"

"Wind element, high affinity!" When the identifier had gotten to the turn of the young girl, Terra, the first high affinity of today had been called out. Currently, the orb was shining with green light. Wisps of the wind aura continuously spiralled around it.

"The research sector would like Terra Fina to consider joining our company!" A lady wearing a green dress spoke out to the young girl.

"The farming sector would like the young Terra Fina to also consider joining our company!" A man dressed in a simple white linen shirt addressed the girl too. The other sectors had not raised their interest in the girl and thus she was let off the stage. It was after that where Muta saw Terra on the sidelines, choosing to enter the research sector. The lady who had called out her name, came over to shake the girl's hand and had given her a small token. Muta was curious at what that token was and decided to ask his father, "Father, the girl who was just on the stage had received a token from the company leader of the research sector, what is it exactly?"

"Oh, that token is, in fact, a symbol of what sector you belong in. If you head to the designated sector carrying the token, you would be let in without any troubles. Every sector has their own custom logo and for the case of you Muta, I hope you get into the guardian sector." Gavin explained to him patiently.

"The guardian sector? Is that the one that requires individuals to have more than one aura in order to enter?"

"Yes, that is the one. I mean every parent hopes their children can enter that prestigious sector. However, that dream gets crushed once the aura selection is over. Unless…" Gavin paused for a moment before continuing. "Unless you are someone like your mother and has a flawless affinity with their element."

"Flawless affinity?! Mother had a flawless affinity with her earth element?" Muta had always known that her mother possesses the element of the earth as he had once asked his father about it several months ago. However, he had not known that his mother was a peerless genius in the aspect of her element.

"Yes. She was one of the three peerless Elementalist that came out that year and all three were actually given a chance to enter the guardian sector. However, one decided to go into the fighter sector, while the other chose to enter the research sector. Only your mother had decided immediately that she wanted to enter the guardian sector. She was the first and only women that caught my eye. I was also taking the test at the same venue as she. I can still remember the scene as clear as day." The man closed his eyes as he beamed slightly.

"The way the aura shone brightly and twinkled magnificently in the midday sun. The playful wisps danced around your mother's arms was definitely one of a kind. If only you could witness such a sight today." There was a hint of sadness when he recollected his late wife's selection test. When Muta saw his father's expression, he could tell that he was hiding a lot of emotion deep in his heart.

"Well, you never know, father. Your son may just have a flawless element running in his blood too." Muta comforted his father while smiling brightly at him. The middle-aged man saw his son trying his best to cheer him up and so he started laughing. "I am sure you will shock me too, just like your mother, Muta."

Whilst the duo was talking, several other youths had gone on stage, but had not left any strong impressions on the company leaders. It was after several minutes when a familiar name was called out. "Next up is Gord Bailey!"

The boy standing beside his family members and his uncle Grant took in a deep breath and start walking towards the stage. When he got on, Gord then turned slightly to the company leaders and bowed a little to them. A few of the leaders had nodded back and Gord walked towards the orb. When ready, the boy placed his two hands firmly on the orb and had kept his eyes open. It only took several seconds when a bright shining yellow light beamed from the orb. Additionally, it did not stop at that, but slowly, turned into a strong red essence. The boy had two auras within him!

"Dual aura with high affinity of the fire element and medium affinity of the earth element!" This time the announcer sounded more excited than the previous few. It had taken over two hundred youths before the first dual aura user to be discovered. What followed next was a series of invitations from all the various company leaders of the sectors. It felt like a symphonic orchestra of invites and Gord was the conductor. It was only after a minute before a confident sound spoke forth from behind the company leaders. "The guardian sector would like this talented youth to consider my company!"

The middle-aged man that represented the guardian sector had a stubby looking beard. He dressed up wearing a long dark blue robe with intricate designs running down the sleeves and collar. His words had instantly dominated over the other sectors and eyes were focused on the young boy who he was determined to get into his company. A cloud of murmurs came from below the stage as they discussed the selection they had just witnessed.

"Woah. That was the first child to obtain a dual aura today. I wonder what family he came from. The Bailey family was it? I have never heard of them before. Probably was just luck that their descendent had achieved two auras."

"His futures seems to be rather bright. The boy has a high affinity for the fire aura and will help boost his offensive ability to higher levels, whilst his earth aura can compliment and build up his defence."

"I wonder what sector he would choose? Would it definitely be the guardian sector? I mean who wouldn't choose that if they had a choice. If my child was given this opportunity, I would definitely pick it for him without regret!"

Gord left the stage soon after while keeping a modest expression. Nevertheless, the youth was actually very excited that he had dual auras and had made his parents very proud. The boy had never seized training his body to help build his strength for the future. Now, it will pay off exponentially when he starts to build up his elemental powers.

"Hey, Gavin I'm going over to my nephew now to congratulate him! Young Muta, may your element have a good affinity too!" The big man left after wishing Muta off. Muta looked over at the delighted

Gord as he chose to enter the guardian sector at the side of the stage. Just like the young girl, Gord was given a similar-looking token and he bowed to the leader who had invited him after he received it.

After that, Gord and his family left off to a restaurant to celebrate the young boy's success, while Muta and his father waited for his turn to be called up. It was only after two hours before it was finally Muta's turn. He was the second last to go today. As of now, only six others had dual auras and of those that went today, none had an excellent or flawless affinity.
