The Valley

Upon reawakening again, I found myself shocked I was no longer in the water. In fact there was no water in sight, even the clothes I wore and my chestnut hair had not a drop. I proceeded to look around and realized I was in a valley.

I just remained on the ground, sitting there in fear of the previous events. This time I did not allow myself to be drawn in by the surrounding beauty, since curiosity and beauty caused me trouble so far.

The valley was indeed beautiful like everything else, but that was just that. I chose to only view it, since my adventures only created trouble for me.

I proceeded to lay there in the lush green and stare up into the sky. I felt the wind blow across the valley giving a gentle breeze.

I close my eyes and start to think.

Where am I? Right now it seems to be a valley, but the previous events made no sense.

Does that make this a dream? That can't be right either, after all it seems too real.

Why can't I remember anything about myself? I seem to have basic knowledge, but beyond that I have nothing. I have no knowledge of myself or my life.

After running through several more ideas, I became even more stumped, but there was one main question on my mind.

What is going on?

That would be the easiest way to sum up my thoughts, concerns, and confusion.

Although I may be missing my memories, I do have some knowledge. This knowledge is telling me that these things don't happen. It is telling me that water does not grab people and drag them into the water. It tells me that streams don't spontaneously become bottomless. It tells me that people don't randomly teleport to valleys.

But my knowledge does tell me that something is off, something is strange and peculiar. My gut tells me I will not be able to figure it out until it reveals itself, but it would not hurt to try.

Right after my resolve, I opened my eyes and sat up, or at least I tried to. My arms and legs were completely restrained. I turn my head to look at my arms, only to find vines wrapped around it. They were slowly spreading further up my arm and I could feel it on my legs as well.

Unlike last time in the water, this time I was able to scream and struggle. I tried pulling against the vines and struggling to break free, but it was all futile. Their grip became firmer and they proceeded to cover me completely.

Finally in the end, I lost my vision and movement. My whole body became covered by the vines.

My panicked state resulted in me returning to the black void. I once again returned with no answers and more confusion.

Hey, you know that kid who has been cheating on spelling tests since Kindergarten? Ya, that's me.
