[Are you signing in today?]

A blue screen is displayed in front of me, a common fantasy trope where the system is the only one able to see the system, is often found in games or manhuas.

"Yes."

I answered silently to myself as I followed my friends. I forgot where we were going as I felt melancholic looking at the screen, or should I say my system. On the screen, there was a giant wheel spinning until it stopped, and the arrow pointed to the "Hold items" option. Switching the display to another tab that represents stored items. Then the wheel spun again.

Congratulations! You have received a Heracronite.

It shocked me to receive a mega stone, as it was unusual for me to get one when it was not part of my monthly or yearly log-in rewards.

"I'm really lucky today"

I smiled as I couldn't help but feel blessed this day as this morning the faculty had an emergency meeting and canceled all classes. During lunch, while walking with my friends, I got lucky enough to win free food for everyone.

I patted my stomach, still feeling full, and lamented that I couldn't get any takeout.

But seeing the screen again, I sighed as I remembered the flaw of this system.

My golden finger is a dud! I couldn't claim any of the items I won. Even a damn fresh water, not to mention leftover that nothing more than trash but I can't take it out. I keep signing in, hoping I can take out just one item, even just a shard.

I couldn't help but rant about those things as I read their descriptions. They differ from their counterparts in games. Freshwater was just a freaking mineral water, while leftover was simply an apple that could only be helpful eating type pokemon.

Is this how the system gets revenge on me? I remember the first time I got the system I was drunk at the time because it was my friend's debut, and disregarded the system as a hallucination that night as I remember I think I was drunk, even though I had only drank just one glass.

Back to the system part, if I won't be transported the Pokémon world or take any items, why not just give me a system that could help me in my daily life? Such as my academic life.

I always dreamed that I would be Isekai'd and mostly overjoyed when I learn about the system as I was a fan of the franchise since I was a kid, I bought many items and games and also completely watched the whole series of the anime including manga but I just got disappointed in the end.

Having the system always gives me hope but this thing turns into my counter as I sign in everyday. I already signed in for 1,819 days, which means I have the system for almost five years now.

Experiencing those years of hardship from my senior year in highschool to college days, changed my mind on going to another world. My failures and successes. The time of breakdown caused me to be forced to shift to another course. The time I become scared and I overcome it. Losing loved ones and almost dying because of sickness.These experiences or I say challenges made me cling to my life more instead of wanting to die or being transported to another dimension.

Why? What's the use of me overcoming all those experience if I still want to end my life.

It's not that I'm not happy with the system. As an avid fan of pokemon my collector spirit ignited in me as I was hoping to collect every items that I could collect in the system. Too bad there are no pokemons in here, just items.

Feeling melancholic, I was happy but when I got my first prize in signing in as I got a fossil of an Anorith. But again to my dismay I could not take the reward out or use it well. I couldn't really use a fossil. Thinking that it's impossible for the system to be useless, so I tried in the games but to no avail.

Days passed by and I got pokeballs, premier balls, luxury ball, ultra ball, rare candy, evolutionary stones, and master ball when I signed in for 30 consecutive days. I couldn't help but I want to cry.

'Uhh.. I forgot about the word or phrase from novels I read.. Well nevermind maybe there will be dungeons showing where there is pokemon!'

This thought has been with me for many years but now that I'm in my second year of college now I will be in my third year next month and until now there are no sky cracks or dungeons appearing.

'I know that I have been an avid fan of Pokemon since I was a kid but I think receiving cheat for cultivation or maybe receiving powers from one of my favorites novels, Lord of the Mysteries will be better also if there is no side effects'

'No! I'm happy to receive this gold finger but why can't I use it! '

'Ughh nevermind I still need to do my market cases as it is almost due.'

"Hey, Ed!"

Someone called me so I looked to see where the voice came from. It was my friend beside him.

3rd POV

"Yes?"

"Are you going home?"

"Well yes, why?"

"They are going to the coffee shop to have a group study there. But I'm going home as it was already late. How about you?"

asked Ed's friend

"Sigh, it can't be helped. Also, are you sure all of you are really going to a coffee shop? I doubt it"

"No you're wrong this time we are really going to a coffee shop or should I say Cat Cafe."

"What! Cat cafe!? Why didn't I hear of it?"

"Well it was newly opened and it wasn't popular."

"What was not popular, it was a place full of lovable cats!"

"Well you know most students tend to show off they're going to a bar rather than a cat cafe you know? This outing was supposed to be our friends only but I'm sure there are dozens of students already visiting the place."

"Uh… Damn why do I always have zero luck!" Ed cursed as he remembered what he needed to work on.

"Why?" His friend asked

"I need to go home as it was my mom's birthday tomorrow and I also need to hurry up on my case"

"Oh come on bro you don't really have luck you know, tomorrow was supposed to be our day off but you couldn't join us but well family first. Good luck bro!"

"Well…Yea thanks, you too. Why does it like you're implying something as it feels like a curse?"

"Are you crazy?"

"Hahahaha…Bye"

"Good bye"

-Ed travelling back home-

"Damn it! Bad luck! Why doesn't my phone have any battery left!" Ed cursed as his phone warned him that he only have 2% left on his battery.

Sigh, Ed can only sigh as he watches the scenery outside the bus. Bored for watching the same scene he turned his attention to his system inventory. He wants to daydream but all he can think about is all upcoming tests and projects.

Pokeballs are one of the main themes in Pokemon as it is where humans put their Pokemon to rest, hide, and also a form of making contracts as the owner of the pokemon. Each pokeball had their own catch rate which the normal Pokeball was the most common has the catch rate of one and Master ball as the rarest pokeball as it can catch any pokemon without fail. In each of his day sign in if he can get a pokeball most of it he can get 100 normal pokeballs or 5-10 of different pokeballs and the master ball will only be luckily drawn during his monthly sign in.

Medecine is one of the main items used in pokemon games but rarely shown in the pokemon anime. With these items the player can change any outcome of the battle as it can heal or give power up to their pokemons or if outside the battle they can strengthen their pokemons.

Berries, just like the berries in the real world, were food for people and pokemon but they have additional effects that can help pokemon during battle. Some can cure poison such as Pecha berries, Sleep with Chesto, Paralysis with Cheri, and normal healing like Oran or Sitrus berry.

These items are not only can be used in battles but also outside of it. They had different effects, some are items that need to be held by certain pokemon like Abomasite that could help a pokemon named Abomasnow mega evolve. Some could be used by a person.

Evolution stones could help certain pokemons evolve. It was different from mega stones because even though mega stones could help pokemon mega evolve it was just temporary.

Watching his inventory he only smiles as he wants to achieve collecting all the mega evolution stones and Z crystals even though he can't use them.

Hmm.. Now that I think of it there are two stones for Charizard but I can't even get one. Also for the long time that I have signed in I didn't get some key items such as a bike or a rod but I got a keystone well I couldn't use them anyways

. But I want to try those berries. Well not that I could eat them. Speaking of eating, I really want to taste Casteliacone and moomoo milk but I can't take it away from the inventory. Damn, even fresh water can't be taken.

As he reached his stop and got off the bus, a shining blinking light floating above got his attention.

Ed turns all his focus to the light as it forms a figure.

'Tha, That figure, that star figure'

His mind went short circuited as he shouted
