28 A solution that presents itself.

Casmir didn't want Elena to meet Rose yet, he wanted to avoid it for as long as he could.

Partially because of Elena's feelings but also because he didn't want the pair to develop a poor relationship from a rushed first meeting. He had no intention of letting go of either of them, he wanted or perhaps even needed them to get on with each other.

One of them was the mother to his child and the other was his closest friend and lover.

Casmir reluctantly introduced them to each other "...Elena.. This is Rose... Rose this is Elena.."

Rose and Elena realised what was happening as their expressions changed, they both looked at each other awkwardly, they didn't know how to react to this situation.

Elena didn't even speak, she simply glanced sadly at Casmir as she turned away intent on leaving.

Rose saw how Casmir reacted as he watched Elena leave, his sad yet understanding eyes portraying his feelings.

Rose saw how Elena briefly stopped for a moment, turning back to look at Casmir while displaying a small, reassuring smile.

Anyone could see that they cared for one another but neither of them knew what to do.

So Rose decided to act for them, she understood that this wasn't something that could be simply avoided.

She turned to Casmir telling him "Stay here, don't move." Before she gently ran over to Elena.

"Come with me, we need to talk." She said to Elena as she held her arm and walked towards the training hall that was nearby.

Rose was still under the impression that Elena didn't know of her pregnancy, she thought it best that she explain it to her now and not later.

As soon as they entered the hall, Rose closed the door and turned to Elena who was looking at her closely.

Elena was trying to understand Rose, out of jealousy, curiosity and a multitude of other complicated emotions.

"Listen, what I'm about to say might upset you but it needs to be said and I don't think Casmir will do it properly. First off Casmir and I spent th..."

"I know." Elena said before Rose had the chance to speak further.

Elena looked both sad and happy that Rose had come over to talk to her.

She spoke in a strained voice, "I know that you're pregnant, I know that it's Casmir's child and I know he didn't have any control over it."

Rose was shocked, she didn't think that Casmir would have opened up to her already.

Elena had thought a lot about Rose, she knew that Casmir would need to be with other women in the future and if Rose was half as understanding and intelligent as Casmir had told her, then she was the best start she could hope for.

"I love Casmir, I don't care if you don't. I'll do my best to get along with you and your child, all I ask is that you let me be with him, even if you are to." She said in an attempt to seem confident, yet small pools of water collected in her eyes, reluctant to fall.

Rose was shocked yet again, she didn't know whether Elena was naively in love with Casmir or if they actually loved each other as much as it seemed.

Rose somewhat awkwardly nodded to her saying "Ok.. I didn't intend on harming your relationship in the first place... I didn't even know I was pregnant until half an hour ago..."

Neither Elena or Rose spoke for a short time after this.

Rose looked at the tearful Elena, Elena clearly didn't have full control over herself.

Rose took her hand, "It's okay to cry if you want, I wont take him away from you."

Elena nodded but didn't let herself cry, she wiped her eyes as she looked at Rose reluctantly, as if she wanted to tell her something.

Just from the fact that Rose had willingly tried to explain herself in order to comfort Elena, allowed Elena to understand that Rose was someone worthy of at least some trust.

"Ugh.. I'm an idiot..." Elena mumbled at herself as she decided to follow through on what she wanted to tell Rose.

"Look, Rose. Casmir's special and he's probably going to have a few wives in the future."

Elena had decided to tell Rose about a few things, she wasn't going to tell her all of Casmir's secrets but she needed to tell her something so that she could understand what was going on.

"Casmir has a high fertility, I can't tell you why but It's important that you don't tell anyone. He didn't know about it until after he met you, which is how this whole situation occurred." She explained.

"However because of his 'gift' he needs to have more children, again I can't tell you why but he needs this and... well.... I'm sorry it's just so stupidly complicated..." Elena said, uncertain of herself.

Rose didn't understand for a moment however as she thought about it, it made sense.

The chances of Casmir getting her pregnant were incredibly low in the first place. She knew there was something strange about this whole situation when Casmir tricked her into coming here, just to get her to take a pregnancy test.

Not to mention how Casmir reacted when they first slept together, he was almost panicking at the thought of being a father even though the chances were miniscule.

As she thought about it further she remembered something that she had heard about.

"Haha.. I can't believe it..." Rose said to herself with a laugh as if she had realised something.

"Casmir's part Elemental isn't he? Hah. It all makes sense, Elemental hybrids have always had high fertility rates and he just happened to come across me, I only sleep with people on my ovulation days because I've been trying to get pregnant.. Haha..."

"Ah... and hybrids are monitored by the government, they are forced to have certain amounts of children." Rose exclaimed, as if assured of her understanding of the situation.

Elena was puzzled by her reaction, apparently Rose had created her own explanation for the situation. Elena realised she needed to quickly tell Casmir about this but before that she needed to get an answer from Rose.

"Right.. well... Rose, what I'm asking you is whether you... want to have lots of children... Casmir's children..." She said reluctantly.

Rose was still piecing everything together when Elena asked her.

Rose had always wanted to have children, it was the only reason she worked at the Golden Flower House. At first she wanted children for her own sake, this was because new parents received large amounts of money and support from the government so that they could take care of their children.

However as she got older she realised how important children were.

She saw the loving face's of people who had children because of her job at the UNC.

She saw how some of her friends, who worked at the brothel and had gotten pregnant, talked about their kids. It was if they had opened up a whole new world, they didn't care about the money they got anymore, even going so far as to work hard jobs just to give their children a better life.

"I don't know... I mean I've always wanted a child but.." Rose said unsure of herself.

At this point Elena smiled, she completely understood what she was thinking.

"I'm sorry.. I'm pilling everything onto you all at once. Look, this is something you will have time to think about, I just wanted to let you know what you were getting into.."

Rose nodded at her before she started laughing.

"Haha... how lucky can I get? I bagged a man who can give me as many children as I want..."

Suddenly she realised that she wasn't taking into consideration how Elena was feeling.

"Ah, wait, I didn't mean it like that.. He's yours, I'm just along for the ride hehe..." Rose said with a smile.

Elena was gobsmacked by how casually she spoke about sharing Casmir with her.

"Umm.. Ok.. Well... I need to talk to Casmir quickly, I probably should've asked him before I told you any of this... Stay here for a second..." Elena said awkwardly before she ran out to speak to Casmir.

Casmir had been waiting outside the training hall, he was nervously pacing back and forth.

'What does Rose want to tell her... Is Elena okay talking to her?... What if they get into a fight..'

Odd thoughts filled Casmir's mind as he worried about what they were doing.

Suddenly the door opened and Elena walked out, she quickly jogged over to Casmir looking up at him guiltily as if she had done something wrong.

"What's wrong? Are you okay? You didn't get into an argument or anything did you?" Casmir asked quickly out of concern.

Elena looked at him oddly as she spoke.

"..No.. we were just talking..."

Casmir sighed in relief, "Oh, good..".

Then Elena started to explain what they had actually talked about and Casmir nearly fell over in disbelief.

"You... You... You're okay with her..? Her and me...?" He asked cautiously, from what he understood Elena was basically saying that she was ok with them being together.

Elena nodded, "I'm ok with it.. I thought a lot about it and realised it was probably better to start now rather than later... But that doesn't mean you can sleep with any bimbo! You still promised me that you would tell me everything you did.... I'm your perfect woman after all..."

Casmir was shocked still for a moment.

He had been feeling anxious and frustrated about the matter only to have it all lifted from him at once.

He grabbed Elena and even lifted her up while laughing.

"Haha... Thank you *kiss*, thank you *kiss*... All I want from you is your understanding, I'll compensate any pain you feel with more than I can give." Casmir said excitedly as he held Elena.

Elena meanwhile let out a short scream as Casmir picked her up and as she heard him she smiled thinking, 'What am I going to do with him...'

"Also, more importantly she thinks that you're an Elemental hybrid..." Elena said as she explained exactly how Rose had responded.

At first Casmir was confused but as he thought about it further he realised that it was a fantastic idea, it could serve as a perfect cover for him at least as long as no one actually ran any test's on him.

He could use this as an explanation to the people who know about his high fertility.

He quickly asked Elena to show Rose around the house before he went off to talk to Gloria about it.

Gloria had just managed to get away from her parents and sister.

She refused to tell them anything to do with Rose and Casmir, she didn't know how much to actually tell them.

Gloria still couldn't believe that Rose was actually pregnant, how was she suppose to deal with this...

Soon enough she bumped into Casmir who was trying to find her.

Casmir explained what Rose and Elena had spoken about, at first Gloria was angry that Elena had said so much, she didn't trust Rose and thought what Elena did was far too naive.

However as she listened to how Rose reacted and her self explanation of Casmir's situation, she felt relieved, this was an interesting and viable explanation of Casmir's fertility.

One of the reason's Gloria was studying the Elemental race was because of their hybrids, these people had very high fertility rates and scientist's didn't understand why this was exactly.

Unfortunately hybrids of Elemental's were incredibly rare, even more so for Elemental-Human hybrids which Gloria needed to study.

"Ok, I'll give you a book on hybrids for you to study, if you ever get caught or someone becomes suspicious of you. You can use it as an excuse but remember you can't get tested for it, hybrids have special attributes that we can't fake." Gloria explained.

"Also you need to go talk to your grandparents, explain to them what's going on because I have no clue." She said in annoyance as she remembered their unending questions.

Casmir nodded before he returned to Elena and Rose, he explained what was happening to the both of them, asking Rose to stick to the story that she is a UNC employee and that she's going to live here from now on.

He also 'admitted' to rose that he was a hybrid but that she couldn't tell anyone, even her family.

After they finished ironing out the details, Casmir kissed Elena passionately for her help and understanding before he went to talk to his grandparents about him and Rose.

Elena giggled as she wished them luck, clearly aware that they were entering a den of evil.
