Forever in Love

One day later... Jacob was weary and disheartened, but when he looked out the window of the wagon, he felt a deep sense of nostalgia. There, far in the distance, as if it were a painting by an artist, was the village, the place that had been his home so long ago. For a moment, he was overwhelmed with emotion, happily aware that, after a long journey, he had finally arrived.

Suddenly, the guards at the entrance of the village spotted a wagon in motion. They were preparing to attack when it came close, but Jacob appeared at the window of the wagon and reassured the guards saying, "It's me, don't attack!" Jacob said smiling, while scratching his hair.

The guards quickly lowered their weapons upon sighting Jacob and were overjoyed. "My lord!", they exclaimed in astonishment. Jacob is the leader of the village and, feeling honored, the guards knelt down with enthusiasm. They were delighted that their leader had finally returned.

Jacob was pleased to have been received in such a way. He truly missed being in an environment where he was treated as Jacob, and not as Jacob Voss.

Jacob stretched out his arms and looked up, closing his eyes as he opened his mouth into a wide smile. He stepped down from the cart and thanked the horse for its hard work, stroking its head and mane. He was delighted to find his home again. He could feel nothing but joy, which further buoyed him as he looked forward to what awaited him on the other side of the village walls.

Jacob glanced at the guards and smiled slightly, saying, "Shall we go in?"

Upon hearing Jacob's command, the guards rose quickly and saluted. Immediately afterwards, they began to march towards the village gate to open it.

Seeing that they had obeyed his order, Jacob took the rope that was around his horse's neck and began to lead it towards the gate.

The guards hastily opened the gate as the sunset cast shimmering lights. Jacob triumphantly entered along with the horse, as if it were a victorious football team returning to the stadium after the big game. The stars in the sky only added to the excitement, even the horse seemed stirred by the entrance, and whinnied nervously.

The children who were playing in the village street put aside their games and started running towards the gate. Everyone's eyes were fixed on it, eager to hear news of who was coming. Suddenly, they realized it was Jacob who was returning. A sense of joy filled their faces and everyone began to sing out loud, celebrating his return as if he were a king.

The sound of the children echoed throughout the village, drawing the attention of the other residents. As they arrived to see what was happening, they spotted Jacob, their leader, back in their lands. His steps guided the way to collective happiness, as well as the tranquility of the neighborhood. Everyone smiled, happy for his return.

Everyone gathered to celebrate Jacob's return and formed a corridor for his reception. Jacob's return was synonymous with celebration and joy for all, as they still could feel his presence among them. Hearts were full of enthusiasm and everyone was celebrating with great vigor.

Jacob guided the horse with him through the crowd of people. Everyone was happy to see him back, along with the horse, and many of them applauded. Very excited, Jacob waved as the horse marched alongside him, taking a step here and another there, until they reached their desired destination...

Jacob looked around and, suddenly, he stopped in the middle of the aisle. He noticed a girl with white hair and blue eyes staring at him.

All sounds around were silenced when Jacob looked at Grace. She was radiant, overflowing with joy, and her eyes shone with a deep light of accomplishment. Alone with her, Jacob felt as if all his worries were silenced, and that nothing but Grace's company was truly needed. He couldn't stop looking at her, and only the sounds of Grace's laughter and joy remained while everything around them fell perfectly silent.

Suddenly, driven by a great longing, Grace began to run through the crowded corridor, while joy filled her heart. Running with all her might, she finally reached Jacob and embraced him with great intensity as if it were the last time they would meet. Her greeting was full of love, joy and eternity.

Even though he was caught off guard by that sudden embrace, Jacob yielded and hugged her back. It seemed like all the spotlights were on them and only them. The world around them started to fade away, and Jacob said, "I guess you missed me."

"Idiot... You said you'd be back quickly." Grace responded as she leaned her forehead against Jacob's chest and let herself be embraced.

"I know, I'm sorry... But some unexpected things happened."

"I don't want you to put yourself in such situations anymore, I love you too much for you to take any risks. I know you want to build a kingdom, but please do it safely. Freki and I were almost on our way back to Paris because we thought you had died. I don't want you to take such risks again. Please, you are very important to me."

Grace spoke looking directly at Jacob, trying to contain the beating of her heart. She knew he could sense that she had said what her soul had been longing to say for so long.

Jacob touched her face gently, as he slid his gaze over Grace's face. He took her hand and looked into her eyes, so she would know that those words had been received with love.

They locked eyes, their eyes shining and hearts racing. When she smiled, he knew it was the right moment. He stepped closer to her and gently cupped her face with his hands. The moment seemed to last forever as their lips drew closer. When their lips met, it was like two lost souls reuniting. They felt as if they were in their own world as everything around them melted away like magic. The kiss was intense, filled with tenderness and passion. They let themselves be carried away by the moment, feeling like they would never part.
