Chapter 12

It has been a day and a half since I had been adopted into the family black. Draco did whine a little about how he was not allowed to join the family as well. To this mom told him that if he was actually betrothed to Parkinson he would be the future lord Parkinson as it was unlikely that he would ever be either lord malfoy or lord black. he seemed excited enough by it. There was no need to force people when you could just convince them instead.

I had managed to brew two more potions today bringing up my job level to one hundred. I am now a potions novice level 100 I decided not to take the potions apprentice job just yet and went with novice rune reader as it would give me a 10 percent added comprehension that will help with future enchantments and the like. The job however also gave me my first skill in rune reading level 1, the skill allows you to understand runes and runesets more easily ,it sort of would translate runes directly in your brain.

Arcturus had gone to Amelia bones and demanded the release of heir black who has spent nearly 6 and a half years in azkaban prison. At first she vehemently protested his release saying that h was a convicted murderer and as such could not be freed to which arcturus said bring me his trail transcripts then to which Amelia checked out records room and found none. At this point the minister and crouch apparently received the asskicking of the century and arcturus in the room of the dmle head threatened the both of them saying, "my heir will be free from azkaban in twenty four hours. he shall be unharmed and alive. If any accidents befall him before he is released I will make sure that you will take his place in the same cell for the rest of your lives."

At which they tried to convince him how letting out a mass murderer would be bad for the country to which he retorted with a "you should have thought of that before you put my heir in azkaban without trial because Lucius malfoy paid you fifty thousand galleons bagnold" and exited without a word. At which point I assume there was more asskicking by bones.

Either way he got a personal missive from bagnold saying that sirius had been removed form azkaban and woul have to under go trial. To which arcturus actually laughed and said, "sure let's have a trial if he did indeed betray the potters than he is no family of mine.but he will still be free because of your stupidity which will entertain me very much."

There was a trial scheduled in a fortnight. The subject of the trial was kept secret. Mostly so that bagnold could save what little face she could. Either way arcturus already had a list of demands he was going to make of the ministry as a whole. Bagnold as a person and the house of crouch in its entirety. He planned on bagnold resigning from the ministry, taking possession of everything of value crouch had including the manor, his elves and the wizengamot seat and votes held by house crouch. Cause let's be honest he is the only one in the house of crouch other than his son whom he has imperiused taking possison of the manor and elves will help with that as well.

I was already planning on acquiring a few times textbooks as soon as possible. I intended to upgrade my level to 100 before Sirius was free. I wanted to test my occlumency barriers and while mom was good at teaching occlumency her legilmency was basically try to hammer at the defences till you get where you are going. I was hoping sevgy would take over training or better yet arcturus he was an actually certified legilmency master along with dorea potter neé black and Charlie potter.

For now I was studying ancient runes and spent nearly seven hours a day on it I studied potions for three hours a day and an hour and a half practicing my occlumency. Some might call it excessive but i planned on a lot of extracurricular activities while at Hogwarts and as such the more subjects I was done with now the less I'd have to focus on at hogwarts. I planned on starting with with arithmancy, astronomy and history as soon as possible making it five less classes I'd have to take seriously from the third year onwards.

I now was about to meet my mother for my potions lecture of the day which was on the often used Pepper up potion.the lecture was as good as always and she scored me a 87 for the potion itself.

Before leaving however"mother I plan on leaving home and going to diagon alley this afternoon, I plan purchasing a few books and other odd and ends do you wish for me to purchase something for you as well?"

"I don't need anything in particular,If I need something I'll send an elf how much will you be needing for your spending?" She asks.

"Around a hundred galleons mother I plan on purchasing quite a few books and I need more parchment and perhaps a few quills to go with it as well."

"What books do you plan on purchasing?" she asks me.

"Not many, the Hogwarts books for arithmancy, runes,. History, potions possibly other books that might catch my interests. The Hogwarts books will be the ones that grandfather's generation and yours learnt from. As grandfather puts it the new course books are barely worth the parchment they are written on other than the few for charms, transfiguration and herbology."

She was clearly surprised by the choices and told me that "flourish and blotts will probably have only the newer books in stock. You should go towards gringotts and toward the very end is a book store called Purcell and Dunn's they specialise in older books not antiques mind you just older. You may also find a few other interesting times out there."

Giving her a small hug and l leave malfoy manor through the floo and walk out the fireplace at diagon ally. And I have to tell you neither he dinginess if the leaky cauldron not the fantasy novelesque feel of the ally itself was exaggerated in the slightest.

Leaving the pub entrance to the ally I start walking towards gringotts and surprise of surprises it wasn't a crooked looking building like in the movies it was this majestic palace like thing out of carved marble. Nearly two thirds of the way down I notice the store Purcell and Dunn which had the whole pawn store vibe all dark wood low lighting the whole shebang. of course knowing mother I had a house elf tailing me but well that's okay I was seven after all.

Entering the store there is a small ting as the doorbell sounded and I walk to the counter and ask presumably either Mr Purcell or Mr Dunn for instructions for books."excuse me, but my mother informed me that I would be able to purchase a few older Hogwarts coursebooks here from around five decades to three decades ago. Is this true?"

"Aye lad ,I am Mr Purcell proprietor of this store, I will give a course book list from back then but the books themselves you will have to find all the books are in clearly marked sections. The lists for which years will you be needing boy and the electives as well"

"Thank you Mr Purcell, I need Lists for the first five years and the electives of runes, arithmancy and care of creatures as well." I reply

"A ravenclaw then very well here are the lists you shall find the books in the appropriate sections.in the very back there is a section that has been blocked by a cable you are not allowed to cross it as it is the restricted section only available for those above seventeen."

The store after the counter opens up is absolutely massive a liberal use of space expansion I assume. Either way off I go down the rabbit hole. By the time I was finished shopping I had seven potions books,five of ancient runes, four on arithmancy, three in history,three in astronomy, one book on magical theory, three books on care of creatures,five books on herbology and a couple of beginner level books on alchemy which as it turned out was not nearly as rare as one would imagine it was just complicated stuff that need a basis in potions transfiguration and charms as it was the field that made permanent these three.

It has been two weeks since the day i spent shopping and my rune reading job already maxxed out three days ago. I chose novice occlumens instead of any of the apprentice level jobs as I wanted to do each available novice job before taking on the apprentice levels.my occlumency had actually levelled to a decent twenty one in three days on account of one lesson by Snape where he spent casting the legilmens curse at me.

I was now in the courtroom for sirius's trial along with mother and grandfather. draco was left at home in care of the elves as he wasn't interested in watching the trial itself.

It was time for the case and dumbledore was presiding looking at the docket he was clearly surprised but he continues on and says, "bring in the prisoner on trial, a Mr. Sirius black." The moment the words leave his mouth Sirius is brought in instead of being all weak and incoherent he walks in like he owns the place and sits down with a smirk, while there is pandemonium in the wizengamot

"Silence," dumbledore yells banging his gavel on the desk. When someone asks, "why is he being tried as he is convicted and has spent nearly 6 years in azkaban."

"As lord black as brought to the notice of the madam bones head of dmle the heir black has never had his trial and as such is technically already free,the law clearly states that any pureblood held in azkaban for longer than thirty days without trial is automatically considered innocent so even if this trial pronounces him guilty he will walk out those doors a free man." Says the barrister a Mr hawthorn. "This trial is simply because Mr black insisted on it saying when I meet my god daughter I want to be able to look her in the eye and prove my innocence in the betrayal of her parents. And be able to tell her the reason I haven't been taking care of her these past six years is because I was put into azkaban without trial."

At this there was a murmur of questioning as everyone in the chamber wondered who the god daughter is to which the barrister preemptively answered "Mr Black's oathsworn god daughter is the one you call the girl who lived Iris dorea potter and he also demands that the moment this trial is over her location be given to lord black for him to collect her so that she may meet Mr black."
