41 Chapter 39 - Short Flight Away

"Please allow this to happen. Vicious Saiyans are coming to my planet and he needs all the help he can get."

"I don't know...this doesn't happen often."

A giant red man was towering over the two from his equally large desk. On the desk, you would find what you would normally find on a normal office desk. He was looking quite annoyed at the situation before him.

"Goku eh? Well...he has enough deeds to go to the upper world already, that is if he were dead. Going to see King Kai and exploring the Otherworld while he is alive? You can see why I am having trouble accepting his passage."

"Well uh you are alive, right? King Kai is alive as well! He won't be interfering with the dead or anything like that so you don't have to worry!" Kami was getting a little antsy, just one word and his Godhood could be revoked like a gym membership.

"Yeah well, I don't think so. Go back-" Before he could tell the two to scram, the oversized phone on his desk rang. He picked it up and instantly went to a respectful tone. After a few minutes, he put the phone back and went to address Goku.

"Alright, you can go in. Don't do anything stupid or you will be sent straight back."

Kami didn't question what the phone call was and went straight to thanking Yama for his generosity. Leaving Goku to his own devices, he went back to Earth to oversee the situation. A guide stepped forward and lead Goku to the beginning of the Snake.

"This is Snake road. The legend says it's about a million kilometers. Good luck!"

"Ok, I am taking off. Come to think about, all I have been doing was training. I have never gotten to really test out my power until now."

The poor guide was confused when he heard that. Goku adjusts himself like a runner would do before a marathon and in a blink of an eye, disappeared from sight. Before he could question if he was seeing things, he was nearly blown off by the winds that generated from Goku's departure.

"AHHHHHH!"

Goku ignored the man's peril knowing that he will be alright and focused on flying. Feeling the wind blast on his face, it was liberating and thrilling. Most importantly. it was fast. The road beneath him was disappearing as fast as he saw it. With this kind of speed, he will be there in no time.

"Please Sister-In-Law, let me use the Gravity Chamber. I beg you!" Raditz, after just a day in Capsule Corp without his brother, learned his place when he demanded to use the Gravity Chamber. Looking at everyone through a hierarchy of power does that to you when you interact with normal people.

"Not until you apologize to me by taking care of Bulla and Gohan while me and Chichi go shopping." Bulma didn't really mind what Raditz did earlier. But she sure as well capitalizes on it with the leverage she has in her pocket. Who wouldn't want an onsight babysitter?

"You mean those demons?! I would rather face Vegeta's wrath than their machinations! Last time they 'pranked' me, my beautiful hair was nearly chopped in half! Vertically!" When Bulma and Chichi looked at their children, they looked as innocent as can be. Of course, they can't hide anything from their moms, but the moms sure can pretend.

"Aww, look at them. Do you really think they can hurt the big bad Uncle? Anyways, we will be back by 7 pm and don't let them eat too much junk food. Tata!" The door slammed shut. Raditz ran up to it but it was locked tightly. Heaven forbid he force it open and face another penalty. The next thing he knows, a bag was dropped over his face obscuring his vision.

"Gohan! Grab the paint, I can hold him!"

"Don't you dare you little sh*ts! How are you so strong? What do they feed you!"

He was not wrong. Not wrong at all. The flight was fast, easy, and efficient. It only took him an hour with his current power and he felt quite proud of this achievement.

Arriving at the tail, he looked up to see a small planet in the sky. He leaped up towards it and when he got close, got sucked in from its gravity. He landed gracefully and started to look around.

"Hello? King Kai?"

Goku arrived at the door to the house and knocked on it. After a couple of more seconds, the door opened with a short monkey standing in front of him. They stared at each other for a few seconds before some noise in the back of the house started to make itself heard.

"Who is it Bubbles? I am still in my morning bubble bath! Pfft." The now identified Bubbles answered with the typical monkey sounds. Some laughter even started to come to Goku's ears.

Backing away from the door, he started to look more around the vicinity to wait for the Kai. As he was inspecting the car in the driveway, the door opened to reveal a short, fat, alien-looking man. He had antennas and shades to complete the look.

"Who goes there?" The person shouted tiredly. Goku went up to him and bowed to show respect before introducing himself.

"My name is Son Goku. I come to seek Martial Art Techniques from you, King Kai."

"Wait you are that Goku? I thought I told that brat Yama to bring you in an hour ago? How are you already here?"

"I uh, am pretty fast."

"Hmmm...I see. You probably have a technique of some sort to go faster. Anyhow, I heard your situation, Saiyans huh? Sounds like someone doesn't like their greens. Pfft...."

"Yes, they are coming. I want to learn martial arts techniques in order to better combat them and face the danger that is greater than theirs if it ever appears." You can't give the other party any reason to suspect that you know the future in great detail. Any implication of that could lead to a GoD coming for me. Giving a broader blanket will cover any mistakes are questions that arise in the future.

"Martial art techniques? I have a few, I wonder if you will be able to learn them. W-Wait is that a tail?! I thought you were scheduled for the upper world after death?" King Kai just noticed the tail wrapped around Goku like a belt. A Saiyan on his land is the meaning of death!

"Ah yes, I am a Saiyan. I was hit in the head as a kid..."

"Oh...thats why you have no sense of humor..." An awkward silence ensued after that for a short period of time.

"I will teach you if you fix your sense of humor and tell me a joke that will make me laugh! Good luck, I watched through an entire Amy Schumer skit and didn't break a peep at all the creative and original jokes."

The bases of making someone laugh on the spot is to always go for a basic joke. Nothing elaborate or the need to know something beforehand. Something unpredictable to hit you from left field.

"Why didn't the skeleton cross the road?"

"Why?"

"Because he didn't have the guts to do it!" An original was always a good one.

King Kai looked visibly stunned and was speechless for a while. He started mumbling wordlessly.

"Skeleton...road...guts!" He was struggling to hold in his laugh. Snorts were leaking out of his hand covered mouth. Not surprisingly, he burst out laughing uncontrollably.

"Mission success!"

"T-That was good, you are a master of comedy. You wouldn't mind if I stole that would you?"

"Nah. everyone does that nowadays."

"Ok! So let us start with your training. Since I see that you are responding fine to the gravity of this planet and you only asked for technique training, I have two I can pass down to you. Any questions?"

"Yes I do, I have been actually wanting to master a certain thing and I was hoping you have some insight to help me..."

(6 months later)

"Hey, I am back, what has been going on lately?" Goku stepped in the front door of Capsule Corps after an intense training half-year training regime.

"Daddy!" Both of his children ran up to him and hug him. Little did he expect that his brother also came running when he arrived.

"Kakarrot! You are finally back please save me! It feels like I am their lackey just like when it was in Vegeta's group! I thought I was away from this nightmare!" Goku put a hand on his brother's shoulder and gave him the unfortunate truth.

"You are not going to be someone's lackey." After that, he pushed him away as he stood there stunned that his own brother told him that.

'At least I am not Yamcha's level.'

Goku went into the main room with both kids latched onto each of his legs. He sat down on the couch as both of his wives were beside him asking about how the trip went.

"It was great! I learned a lot of good stuff. I came back earlier than expected because King Kai's planet was too small for me to finish my last technique. Anyways, there is around half a year until the Saiyans come. I want to do something really special that will surprise them."

After he finished saying that, he looked at the two kids on his legs and had a sh*t-eating grin on him. Everyone in the room had an eerie feeling that it wasn't going to be a good surprise.
