Chapter 2: Rebirth

Dammit, its dark.....again. Not only dark, its a little chilly, maybe if I open my eyes a little..... Hang on... My eyes are already open!! How dark is this place!!!

I move around to find the walls, I keep moving for minutes and still haven't felt anything solid. How big is this place!!

[Speaking of solid...] I then notice that even my legs aren't on anything solid.

"Huh??! HUH??!!!!!! I'M FLOATING???!!!!!!"

I begin screaming in panic until I hear a voice boom from the infinite darkness

"Shut the hell up!!!!"

"I'm sorry" I had to apologize to whoever was out there [I don't wanna be meat to a demon of the abyss. Come to think of it, that voice sounded like a female's].

"Demon of the abyss? Is that what you think I am? How stupid, and yes, I am indeed female"

[Did she just read my thoughts? How's that possible?]

"Its possible because you don't have a body, anything you think is as loud as anything you say"

"I don't have a wha...." I raise my hand to my eyes and only see darkness, but I feel it. I can feel my arm, my fingers, everything. [Why, why can I feel it but not see it?]

"Because that is the only way your mind can comprehend your new state of existence"

[OK this lady has got to stop reading my mind]

"Then stop thinking you moron"

"I'm sorry" Yup, I'm a coward.

I apologised again and heard a sigh from the darkness. Looks like I annoyed her a bit. Serves you right for looking into my head

"First off, you don't have a head and secondly, do you even know where you are?"

"Uhm... No not at all. Am I dead?"

"Yes, you are dead"

"What??!!! For real?!! I was too young!!"

I thought mom wanted to transport me somewhere else, but she killed me? Why would she kill me? I mean I did use her salary to get some anime figurines and cosplay outfits and snacks even though there's always food at home and.... Huh Well, anyways, at least I know it was to save my life.

"I'm gonna temporarily grant you a physical form, you OK with that?"

"Uhm, yea. Thank you"

I then feel a warmth envelope me, I could feel the rush of my blood, I could feel the air in my lungs and the light, it was really bright. Is this what Heaven is like? I'm really in Heaven

"Hey, get up"

My eyes were then acquainted with the light shining directly on me, is that the bulb of a..flashlight? I feel like I'm laying down on something solid, finally, solid ground. I look around and notice that I'm in a blank white room. That's awkward.

"I've got to say, you don't look so bad"

I then turn my head to the source of the voice. A face was directly besides mine, a beautiful female face, just inches away from mine with a flashlight. I could feel her breath, I could smell it too and I've gotta admit, its minty fresh.

We stare awkwardly at each other for a few seconds before I fully realize the situation. I get flustered and crawl away as fast I can. Like hell this lady is crazy

"Wh.....what are you? A pervert?"

She then stands from the squatting position she was in. She had long and red waist-length hair, her eyes were strange, a shiny ruby red colour like her hair. Its no eyes that existed in my previous life

Her figure wasn't one to joke over too, she seemed to be about my age, she had the body of a teenager, she was curvy....like really curvy...... Reeeeaaaaalllyyyy cuuuuurrrrvvvvy~

She was wearing an oversized pink long sleeved sweater, by oversized I mean, its arm length is longer than hers and its body length was just above her thighs.... Her thighs.... Ehem

Beneath the sweater, the frills of a short white skirt can be seen, navy blue thigh-high socks adorned her legs and she didn't wear a shoe

[Men... She's cute]

"You've been staring at my body for some minutes now, and you call me a pervert?"

"Fair enough"

She is right though, i was staring at her body. But that's not the deal right now, I've got to know the truth.

"So what's this deal about me being dead?"

Is she lying to me? She has to be, because Mom said she'd transport me to a different world not kill me

"Your body was offered as a sacrifice to me, the blood ritual was done and I have answered. Oh and your blood tastes good by the way"

She looked at me smugly and licked her lips

"Huh?"

Hang on, my blood? She tasted my blood? How? Wait, Mom did prick my hand and rubbed my blood.... on the..... crystal?

"Wait, you can't possible mean to tell me that YOU are the crystal?"

Her expression changed from a smug one to a serious but dull one

"You really are slow. Yes, I am the crystal"

"That's really weird. Since I'm dead, what's gonna happen now?"

"What's gonna happen now is, we'll give you a new body that will survive the new world we are heading to"

"A new body?"

Wow, so this is basically like a fantasy novel. My otaku dreams have been answered, or this is basically still a dream.

"Let's begin."

She snaps her fingers and a giant mirror thingy appeared, it had details like race, class, gender, age etc

"Pick"

OK so she wants me to choose what I'd look like, not bad. In the race section I see a list with the first option being a Celestial, I touch it and a sub section opens, it reads; Celestial, a being that transcends the very essence of everything. This being is supremely powerful and stands above everything. This being is omnipotent but can only be accessed through a blood sacrifice to the crystal. It is currently available for you.

Okay this is overkill, my new life would be damn boring if I was omnipotent.

OK then, on to the next, I touch the next which says God, a being that is just a step behind the Celestial. A God is nigh-omnipotent and can get stronger from the worship of lower life forms. This being is only accessible through a blood sacrifice to the crystal. It is currently available to you.

That sounds weird, I'm not that power desperate kinda guy so I'll just keep checking.

The next option says Demon-God, a being on par with a God, a Demon-God is the direct opposite of a God. This being is only accessible through a blood sacrifice to the crystal. It is currently available to you.

I keep reading the details of every race I see, I saw races like

Draconian

Demi-Human

Lizard-man

Human

Elf

Demon

Fairy

Calmelia

Vampire

Hybrid

Dwarf

God-kin

Demon-kin

I chose the Calmelia race because its the only race I know nothing about. Calmelia, an extinct race of humanoid creatures that have the ability to adapt to anything and anywhere. They are fast learners and are not limited to one form. They learn by seeing something once or experiencing it once. The only way to kill a Calmelia is by surprise, if it happens to survive, it cannot be killed that way again. This being is only accessible through a blood sacrifice to the crystal. It is currently available to you.

This looks interesting, since they are extinct I'll be the only one. I like that idea, I'm gonna take it.

I chose Calmelia as my race, my class option was null I mean come on, I adapt to anything. My gender was obviously male, I've been male all my life and I wouldn't want to change that now, my age... I might have tweaked it up a bit, I'll keep that to myself.

I filled up other minor things like hair colour which I chose white, hair length which I made back-length, skin colour which I chose dark because I've been white all my life, a change won't hurt, eye colour which I chose red, height was 6ft, physique was athletic with built muscles, nail length was short, nail colour was peach, ear length was a bit long, skin texture? Damn smooth, palm texture? Baby butt smooth boi.

I asked her why i needed to pick such basic look options down to the barest noticeable, she replied saying,

"The Calmelia is not limited to one form, so you must at least have a base form that you can return to, that is if you want to"

On thing was left, my name. I wanted to change my name but I remembered my parents. I can't let our family name vanish just like that.

So i chose my normal name, Zain. Zain Chesterfield.

"OK, sooo, what now?"

"Now, we go to Kollania"

"We? Kollania?"

"Shut up"

"I'm sorry"

Then the mirror thingy turned into the same portal that brought me here. I've had my fill of portals, I'm not going through that...thing?.... Huh? Huh??!! HUH??!!!!!

SHE PUSHED ME THROUGH IT!!!. WHAT THE FUDGE IS UP WITH PEOPLE PUSHING ME THROUGH PORTALS??!!!!!

It's dark once again but this time I feel like I'm flying through a space. I feel the wind blowing against my skin and whistling against my ear, i could see a slight glow besides me. It had the shape of a girl? Oh, its her.

"We'll be going to Kollania, a world that you possibly should be familiar with its functions"

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is, the world we are heading to is like a fantasy game. RPG to be more precise."

"A fantasy game?"

"Stop asking stupid questions, you heard what I said"

"I'm sorry"

This girl is really rude but i'm not one of those jerks that'll retaliate at a girl because of she's being a jerk.

Forget about her, my life-long dream of being a powerful adventurer will finally come true, all those years of wishing I was an anime character are going to be fulfilled at last. I'm taking a huge step into the dream of every other otaku, it is such an honour.

I see a light at the distance, it gets brighter and brighter as we rapidly approach it. Is this it? I'm pretty sure it is. This is the end of my previous life and the beginning of a new one.

We fly into the bright light and with excitement I shout out, "New World, here I come!!!"
