Chapter 43: Regressor

" This fucker…"

I chuckle in disbelief as I watch this worlds protagonist.

" He's a regressor or something similar, isn't he?" Minjoon deadpans with his lips pressed into a thin line.

" Most likely."

As if he could hear Minjoon's voice, Eunsoo looked over to us. His eyes lingered on Minjoon before he got back to swinging his long sword.

No wonder I didn't like his face the second I saw it. Bastard also wants something from Minjoon.

We watch as the protagonist showed impossible skills for his current level. Strength developed by experience, something not possible for him in this current time line. I don't know how many years he went back, but he surely did because he wasn't acting as he's supposed to.

" At this point in the plot, he's supposed to have panicked since its his first time in a dungeon and then I, the villain, reprimand him." Minjoon sighs.

Regardless of the 'out of character' endeavors Minjoon has gotten wavered by my authority, the timeline of the world, unless requested otherwise, must remain intact.

" And of course, given the opportunity to go back in the past, the protagonist will want to resolve any regrets they had. You both now have the knowledge of the future." I may have to contact this worlds will to see what brought Eunsoo back.

My love brushes his white hair back in frustration. "It's already enough having to keep track of the changes I am making in the original timeline, but now I have to keep a close eye on him to keep things going in the right direction."

I understood Minjoon's line of thought, but his choice of words made me feel iffy.

" Keep an eye on him, huh?" I mutter under my breath.

I could guess what Minjoon would do to 'keep an eye on him' and I didn't look forward to it.

Eunsoo cut through the undead with easy. His sword silks were praiseworthy; violent yet beautiful.

He was supposed to be a 'golden guardian' or 'saintly knight' type of persona. Now he seemed to be heading towards a whole different class provided by this worlds invading system.

Once he massacred all the monsters in his vicinity he turned towards us. He beamed an innocent smile as he ran up to Minjoon, who stiffened beside me.

" Leader-nim! How did I do?" He seemed to yearn for phrase.

" …Go back. And stop running back and forth, you'll mess up teams formation and put yourself and others in danger." He nit picked at the protagonist as the original villain wanted.

I could tell those words were uttered reluctantly from Minjoon sweet lips. Minjoon disliked unnecessary confrontation, such a good boy.

" Yes! Understood! I'll work harder!" Myong Eun-Soo's black hair swayed as he bowed. Just before he ran off again I caught him glaring at me from behind his bangs.

What's this fuckers problem?

Tense, I cross my arms and watch him like a hawk. I will cut off his dirty paws if they dare covet what's mine.

Minjoon leaned towards me and whispered. " Why is he trying to butter me up? What does he want?"

" Don't know." I comment drily.

" Nm-hmm."

Minjoon turns back to observe Eun-Soo. Minjoon stood in the back as the rest of the team took care of the small fries. I stood beside him and incinerated any zombie or skeleton that came near the rear, close to our position.

Once we cleaned up the monsters Minjoon called back everyone. We exited the dungeon and passed through the gate back to earths ground. The team took a break to refresh and heal any wounds as the extraction team entered the dungeon.

There were two teams in the extraction team. One would pack up the monsters we hunted and the other would dig up any mana crystals found. After we extract all the resources existing in the dungeon, we then face the dungeon boss.

Our hunter team's manager and secretaries had brought us food and drinks, and fussed over the hunters every need and want.

A female in a suit handed me a towel that I use to wipe my face of any sweat and grim. She placed a bento and a water bottle on the table for me. She bowed and went on to the same for the other hunters.

I ate as I watched huge truck loads of our loot were pulled out by the extraction teams men. The carts were hand pulled by level E awakenes. Human tech didn't work in dungeons so E level hunters took on this type of manual labor that payed well.

I place down my plate and wiped my mouth with a napkin. Minjoon, just beside me, also finished up and gulped down his water before standing up.

" Let's finish up! Wheels up in 5!"

We soon enter to kill off the monster boss of the A rank dungeon.
