Fear

She was beautiful. I couldn't take my eyes off her. When I found her I was crushed. The sight of her on the side of that bridge made my wolf howl in agony. He could feel her pain and new what she was about to do. My heart broke a million times over realizing I had finally found my mate only to see her die. My wolf tried to get through to hers but something was wrong. The second she started falling I ran into the water.

It was cold but something told me she was still alive after she plunged in. I linked my beta and told him to get here with the doctors immediately. She was still alive when I got to her. Clinging onto life by a thread.

I carried her over to the shore and sat there with her in my arms for what felt like forever before my beta finally arrived and took her from me. My wolf wasn't happy but I new it had to be done.

Day in and Day out I never left her side. When she finally woke up I nearly cried. She's okay, she's alive. Her confused look when I mentioned wolves had me worried. There's no way a human could have survived that fall. My wolf didn't care what she was no matter what and neither did I. I linked the doctors letting them know she was awake and to check up on her. While also letting them know she didn't know about wolves so they could try and figure out what she is.

I then cut the link and came over to help her get up by offering my hand. The shocks that came with the mate bond shot up my arm and into my heart only to immediately be ripped away. She was confused by them and had pulled her hand away. It had still hurt my wolf though since he didn't understand why she had done it.

I waited until she entered the bathroom then sat down on the bed. Her scent was stronger here and I loved it. She smelled like spring and sunshine. It broke my heart knowing I had almost lost her. But she was here, and I was going to make her the happiest person on the planet to make up for it.
