Prologue

It was a frantic week for the poor woman. Lots of things to take care of, making sure everything would not produce a major problem, and cleaning around her humble abode. Today, at least, is a day she could rest easy. She took her time looking at her current surroundings. Everything felt a little emptier, but she could still smell the familiar hint of oak wood. It felt like home to her, but soon enough, she knew she had to move away from the treehouse she considered home.

Her thoughts drifted away when she felt something on her right shoulder. She looked to see a small human with transparent wings. It was a fairy. She chuckled with a hint of exhaustion before she held out her hand to the little creature. "I'll be fine, Primrose. Is everyone worried about me? Is that why you came here?" she asked. Primrose answered with a nod and then a frown. She used gestures saying that the woman acted differently for weeks on end. The woman rolled her eyes . "Because of the old woman, yes. But I'll be okay. I'm sure she's not sick anymore. Oh, well, we could pay him a visit later, yes?" she asked. Her listener looked at her for a while and then just nodded as a response.

Not too long after, both of them heard a soft knock in the distance. The woman knew there was someone at the front door, so she turned to Primrose. "Alright, I think you should go ahead with the others, okay? I'll catch up to you all in a while." She told her, as the fairy complied to her request.

She let the fairy go, and she then stepped toward the front door. She immediately knew who it was just by opening the door. "Hey, Silvia." The voice of a young man greeted him. She then saw his face. He had Brown and unkempt hair, and his blue eyes told her that he wanted to see her for the last time. "You're already packed?" He asked. Silvia nodded. "Hey, Burton. Yes, I'm all packed." she said, before an awkward silence followed. It wasn't until about a minute later when one of them finally spoke. "Are you sure you want to leave this town? I know it's been rough for you for the past month, but you know we'll all miss you." he asked.

Silvia responded with a little sigh. "I know. To be honest with you, I was conflicted about my life when the old woman left me on my own. I never knew my parents, but she took me in from an orphanage then raised me here. She Taught me everything I have to know about the creatures she took care of. But I feel like I can't keep up to her this way. So it's why I feel like it's better for me to move to the city to try and provide for me and the creatures I'm now taking care of." she explained. "But hey, you can stay here if you want once I leave. I trust you enough as your childhood friend, after all."

He chuckled, and put his fist up, followed by Silvia doing a fist bump with her. "I wish you the best from here. Good luck in Liber City, Silvia." Burton replied with a smile. "Oh, can you also pet Niya and Enti for me?" he asked. "Sure!" She replied with a bright smile.

The two shared a little bit more about their goodbyes, then Burton returned to his house not far from hers. She sighed a little before she stepped out of the treehouse and then headed up north, where she found a larger tree with a stone found at its roots.

The stone read "Velma, A kind soul, Beloved friend, sister, and grandmother".

"Hey, uh, Grandma." Silvia started. "I know you're not technically my grandma but you know how much I loved calling you that. It's been a month since you passed and it was too hard for me to accept that, harder to comfort those you love. I think it's better for me to move away from here to provide for myself and to those you really love taking care of. You won't be mad, right? You treated me as well as them, anyway."

Silence only followed, then the wind blew.

"I'll see you soon, Grandma. I hope you do well wherever you are now." She said, before she turned around and left. Right after that, she met primrose and all the other creatures she now takes care of, then with a carriage, used peacock deers Niya and Enti to move forward to her new life: Liber City.

Hey everyone! I'm not sure about what to say because this is technically my first publish in Webnovel despite having this account for like a few years now LMAO

But, well, I'm glad I finally came around to planning for publishing my upcoming novel! The book cover is technically a placeholder until I can find a way to make an original one (I used Canva for the cover so eh).

The idea for this story is somewhere between a pet cafe and a magical cafe where creatures have a part in preparing or getting a role in the place, like serving drinks or maybe cooking up food! Basically I was inspired by one Tumblr(?) post related to that, I sadly forgot what it was but it totally got my cogs working really hard within my 8 years of writing.

This initially used to be a school project (This chapter specifically) but I really had plans about continuing beyond that and making it my novel! I actually have an end goal in mind now, I just have to figure out how to connect the dots while making it enjoyable to read for y'all!

So yeah, with my school and college applications ongoing at the time i publish this, I expect to release chapters once every month, but if I have enough time to do what I could, I could publish it when I can! In the meantime, I am open for suggestions! Do you have ideas or comments about this and the upcoming chapters? Let me know in the comments! Thanks so much and enjoy!
