1 Chapter 1: Levi Frost

"Long ago, before the era of men, was the era of Gods. They say that there were 12 Gods known as the Zodiacs who protected Terra. These Zodiacs are towering creatures as far as the eye can see, their feet are the same size as a small village and their power and might are as vast as the ocean. A swing from their arms could flatten mountains and create natural disasters. Each of these Zodiacs controlled the 12 regions of Terra, they keep them safe from wars, discord and the forces of darkness known as the Legion. These creatures are demons from the underworld who attack and possess weak-willed creatures and can bring an upset to the balance of light and darkness if not maintained, but after many many years, the Zodiacs and the Legion vanished without leaving a single trail. So much that not even the history books have any information about them, but some say a war broke out between the Zodiacs causing all of them to be wiped out including the Legion. Others say that they don't exist at all, and that all stories about them are all fabricated, but no one really knows what the truth is."

Suddenly a guy spanks the head of the storyteller.

"HURRY UP AND HELP ME CARRY THESE THINGS LEVI"

"Sorry dad, I got carried away with mom's story again. Here let me help you with the fruits"

"We'd better be finished before sundown or you're not the only one who'd get carried away...from the house".

Levi suddenly remembers his mom's furious face.

"Gugh, I still get chills seeing mom like that"

"WOAH!" A boy from the crowd of children listening said. "How do you guys even carry those things" he said while looking at the pile of food and necessities Levi and his father is carrying.

"I dunno, Im just strong I guess"

"Still not strong as me" His dad says.

"Only by an inch! Just you wait dad, I'm gonna beat you to a pulp next time we spar" Levi replies.

"Alright alright just don't trip on a rock while carrying those"

As they were about to leave, a boy from the crowd of children asked Levi.

"Hey mister, what do you believe in?"

"Hmm? About the Zodiacs? Oh, they're here alright. Watching from shadows, invisible to the naked eye, waiting".

"WOAH!" The children said simultaneously. "I wanna be a zodiac"

"Me too" a kid says while mimicking a giant.

Levi and his dad carried off with their shopping.

"Hey dad, how many are still unchecked" Levi said pointing at the list his dad is holding.

"Just one more actually."

"Uuggh finally, what's the last one?"

"It's uhh... A bundle of carrots"

"Okay dad, you go on ahead home. I'll catch up as soon as I buy the carrots" Levi says as he handed his dad the fruits he's carrying.

"Sure, just remember. Before sundown okay?"

"Yep!" Levi says as they parted ways.

Moments later, Levi reached Rosemead, a shop on the outside walls of the kingdom.

Levi enters the shop.

"Excuse me grandma" Levi says.

"Watch your mouth you brat! Can't you see how young I am" the granny says while posing.

Levi was bewildered while looking at the granny.

"I'm sorry I didn-"

A young lady softly shoves the grandma aside.

"Hello, welcome to our shop Rosemead, where we sell all kinds of food and necessities. I am Mathilda, granddaughter of the owner. What can I do for you today?" Mathilda says smiling.

"I'll have a bundle of carrots" pointing at the carrots.

"OH! And these too" drooling while pointing at a strawberry croissant.

"How many croissants?" Mathilda asks.

"Just 1" Levi says. *I hope my money's enough though*

"Okay that would be 10 copper pieces plus one croissant for a total of 15 silver pieces"

Levi looks at his money *only 10 huh, I should've asked dad for more in case I wanted to buy something for myself*

"Oh, just the carrots today I guess. I'm short on money"

"Is that so? Okay then here you go"

After mathilda handed over the bag of carrots.

"NOBODY MOVES!"

A band of thieves with knives suddenly came in the shop. 5 of them in total.

"You're right boss. This shop is packing with all kind of things and I think they're full of coins too" A thief said.

"Round 'em up" a buffed thief said with a deep voice.

"IT'S THE BLACK BANDITS, the sickest thieves in the outskirts of the kingdom, and DON JOHNSON is with them, the right hand of the of the thieves' leader." A passerby frighteningly said.

"What are they doing here? That shop is toast for sure, they don't leave anything behind, not even people." Another passerby said.

"Why are you even still standing there, get some help, call the guards."

"No the guards don't stand a chance against Don, only the royal guards can help, but none of them ever go out of the kingdom"

Don is wearing a dark jacket but you can still see how big his body is.

"HEY WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING HERE SCARING ALL MY CUSTOMERS!" Mathilda shouted.

"Shut up or we'll take you too" a thief said.

"JUST YOU TRY!" Mathilda said while shaking.

Mathilda got hold of a broom and attempts to hit one the thieves but the thief quickly slashes the broom in half with a knife.

"That's it. You just signed yourself a death wish young lady"

The thief grabbed one of Mathilda's hands.

"Hey what are you doing, let go of me"

Two of the thieves are quickly bagging up the inventories in the shop and the other one would get the money from the register but Levi was standing in the way.

Levi was facing the register and the thieves was facing his back.

"Hey boy, if you don't want to be beaten to death you better stop standing there and MOVE!"

Levi stood still.

"HEY!" The thief shoved the carrots from Levi's hands.

"You deaf boy?"

Levi got down and picked up his carrots. He puts them on the shop's register beside where he is standing.

"A wise man once said, manners maketh man" Levi said.

"Kid wants to be a hero." One of the thieves getting inventory said.

"Alright you die now" said the thief closest to Levi

Mathilda gasps as the thief was about to stab Levi but Levi quickly dodges it and grabbed the face of the thief and smashed it into ground leaving him unconscious. Granma who was just watching everything was shocked and has now taken quite an interest in the boy but would quickly turn to disappointment once the boy failed to fend himself. Two of the thieves was surprised and before they could react, Levi quickly jumped to one of the thieves and gave him a knee to the stomach followed by downward strike on the back with both of his hands. The other thief who was bagging the inventory charged at Levi but before his knife would hit Levi, Levi grabbed the thief's wrist and kicked him so strong that the thief flew across the street from the shop just barely hitting Don along the process. The last thief who was holding Mathilda was struck in awe and didn't notice that Mathilda had broken free. Mathilda grabbed a pan and hit the back of the thief's head making him unconscious.

"Fool, you should've just moved out of the way, you just had to get yourself killed" Don said.

"I acknowledge that you're strong, would it be okay if we leave this shop and take this on the street? You wouldn't want your goods to be smashed now would you?" Levi said.

Grandma smiled after hearing Levi's words.

"Remember those words boy, they'll be your last" Don said.

Levi walked towards the entrance of the shop calmly and upon reaching Don's position, Don walked side by side with Levi. You can see how big Don is, doubling Levi's height and width. After walking out of the store the crowd who was watching from afar became more cautious of their distance but would ultimately still be watching.

"That's Don! Who is he walking with?" A civilian said.

"He's just a commoner" another civilian said.

Upon reaching the center of the street, the two faced each other.

*This guy is nothing like the other thieves he was with* Levi thought to himself while seeing the ominous aura oozing from the body of Don as he grins menacingly.

The whole place became quiet. The only sound you can hear is the sound of the wind gently swaying their clothes and with the wind was a leaf riding it. The leaf ended up falling in between them. When the leaf touched the ground, both of them simultaneously made a punch and collided each other's fists. An aftershock was made from the collision and it left a wave of heavy air that bursted outward leaving the surrounding things to be pushed back. The clash continued as both of them struck each other rapidly blow for blow without leaving any time for each other to react.

"HAHAHAHA NOW THIS IS THE FIGHT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR" Don laughed as he fought Levi.

Levi suddenly grabbed Don's left arm and quickly jumped and kicked Don's head using his right foot but Don blocked it with left hand then Don grabbed Levi's foot and swung it sending Levi flying across the street. Levi landed with both his feet on the ground without leaving any scratches. Levi brushed off the dusts on his sleeves and cracked his neck and knuckles.

"I WOULD'VE BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED IF YOU JUST SUDDENLY DIED FROM THAT. THANKS FOR ENTERTAINING ME MORE." Don said as Levi was walking towards him.

"The only thing disappointing here was your punches old man" Levi answers.

Don's smiling face suddenly became serious.

"I've had enough of your words boy, I'm sorry if this will kill you" Don replies. "TIGER'S STRENGTH, TIGER'S STANCE"

~Tiger's strength : the user's strength doubles for a limited time.

~Tiger's stance : the user does a tiger-like stance with both their feet lowered to the ground, one in front of the other readying for a quick lunge and his fingers growing claws.

Don's clothes ripped apart upon using Tiger's strength visually representing how big his muscles grew.

Don growled menacingly and jumped towards Levi so fast that he leaves lightning trails in his wake. His arms wide open readying for a cross slash with his claws.

"Mediocre" Levi says as he continues walking calmly towards Don.

"Let's see you talking after taking this hit boy" Don says as he's flying towards Levi.

Before Don was able hit Levi, time slowed so much as if it completely stopped.

"Spear of light" Levi whispered while his eyes were closed.

~Spear of light : user's weapon lights up blindingly with light energy, striking with light speed.

Spear of light is typically used with a weapon but Levi used it without one having a greater toll on the body and having less damage output.

Levi's eyes glow white as he opens them. His hair is rising up from the intense pressure of his hand as it starts to light up blindingly. He aims his hand then struck at light speed.

*That's HIS technique, I didn't know they had a son* Granma says as she watched the fight from inside the shop

The collision of the two was so loud and big that it made the onlookers deaf for a moment. Dusts and debris spread across the area upon contact leaving onlookers with little to no visual.

-Inside the castle of Excelsius-

"What was that sound?!" A high ranking officer sees the explosion outside the walls and quickly headed towards the king.

The king after sensing the explosion smiled a little as if his day just got interesting.

"Your majesty, the kingdom is under attack by an unknown enemy" the officer said.

The officers standing beside the king gasps in shock.

"An attack?" An officer asked.

"Who would do such a thing?"

"It's not an attack." The king said calmly.

"Far from it. Send a platoon with a royal guard to check." the king added.

-Outside the walls-

"What happened?" An onlooker asked while holding his hat from being blown away.

"I can't see from all the dusts" another one says.

-Inside Rosemead-

"Here's my payment grandma" A person says as he leaves 10 silver coins on the register.

Grandma was shocked as she barely sensed the presence of the person who walked in, but she quickly remembered whose voice it was and smirked.

"Take these too" grandma says as she tosses 3 croissants to Levi.

"They're thanks, for helping the shop and my regards to your father and your mother" grandma added.

Levi nods and he heads outside the shop.

A breeze touched Mathilda's skin as she was looking at the street through the shop's door. She looked at where the breeze came from but saw no one.

Moments later the dust settled down and the site of the explosion became clearer. The onlookers saw a man kneeling down with fear etched into his face. His eyes wide open, pupils dilated and can't stop his body from shaking. Almost as if he saw his own death flash before his very eyes.

"M-m-mon-monster. He's a monster" Don murmurs.

"IT'S DON! HE WAS DEFEATED." an onlooker shouted.

Everyone cheered as the thieves menacing their town was defeated.

"Grandma Mira! Don was defeated by the guy who was at the shop earlier!" Mathilda says with glee.

"He was sooo cool, punching and kicking back and forth!" Mathilda blushed.

"Uurgghhh I wished I could've at least thanked him but I can't see him anywhere"

"You might still just catch him though" Mira replied.

"Really?" Mathilda's eyes widens with joy.

"Where grandma?"

"Go straight to your right and you'll see him along the side of the road." Mira said.

"Thanks grandma!" Mathilda says as she grabs a croissant and ran towards where Levi is.

"Wait! I alre-" Mira stopped talking as she realized Mathilda wouldn't be able to hear her after rushing out.

"Oh, young love"

-The area of explosion-

A royal guard followed by a platoon arrived at the scene. The silver armor marked the uniform of the guards, while the royal guard's armor was lined with gold accompanied by a horse with the same armor

"It's a royal guard" the people murmured

"The royal guard has arrived"

"What happened here?" The royal guard asks as she looks around the surroundings.

The royal guard took off her helmet and climbed down her horse.

"Report" the royal guard said as a guard from her platoon approached her.

"They said a battle happened here between Don Johnson and a commoner"

"DON JOHNSON?" The royal guard shockingly asked.

"Where is he right now?"

"Here commander" a soldier says while pointing at Don.

"He doesn't respond to any means of communication. It's as if his mind went completely crazy from fear"

"How could a commoner defeat such a beast that even a royal guard would have trouble with?" The royal guard said.

"There's more, commander" the guard added.

"What do you mean there's more?"

"We found 3 thieves unconscious inside the Rosemead shop and one more across the street from there. It looked like he was blown away commander."

"What monster could do such a thing"

"It wasn't a monster commander. The shop owner said it was a person who recently bought from their shop."

"I must speak with the owner immediately" the royal guard said as the guard guides her toward the shop.

"This way commander. Inside here." The guard said.

"He's not here anymore." Mira says as the royal guard enters the shop.

-in another part of town-

"MISTER! WAIT" Mathilda shouts as she runs.

"Hmm?" Levi says as he looks back at the person calling him.

Mathilda finally caught up to Levi.

"Mister. Haah, mis...ter" Mathilda says as she was chasing her breath while in a tired position.

"Hi Mathilda, what are you doing here?" Levi asks.

Mathilda suddenly realizes her situation and quickly got up straight and blushed.

"I uhh.." Mathilda stutters as she presses the croissant against her chest in embarrassment.

*I didn't know talking to a boy was this hard*

*Okay breathe, inhale, exhale*

*He's just a normal...cool looking...handsome* Mathilda blushes even more.

*boy...*

"Mathilda are you okay? You seem red" Levi asked as he holds Mathilda's cheeks to check her temperature.

Mathilda suddenly bleeds from her nose, making her lose consciousness. Her spirit leaves her body and hugs Levi. Levi holds her shoulders as she was about to faint but she gains consciousness immediately.

"Hey Mathilda are you okay?" Levi asks as he shakes Mathilda softly.

"Y-yes Im fine" Mathilda says as she smiles awkwardly.

"But your no-"

Mathilda quickly rubs off the blood from her nose in one swoop of her hand.

"Anyways as I was saying. The reason I came here was to give you this." She pushes the croissant in front of her and leaned with her head facing down.

Kinda looks like those cliche Japanese scenes where the girl confesses to the mc by giving him chocolates.

"It's thanks for helping the shop and saving me. Please come to the shop again another time" Mathilda says.

"It's okay I already got myself a croissant" Levi replied.

"Eeeeehhh?!" Mathilda says then she returns to her normal posture.

"Who...who gave you one?"

"Your grandma gave me three" Levi replies as he shows her the three croissants.

"EEEEHHHHH?!?!" Mathilda shockingly and dissappointedly said.

*Beaten by my own grandma?!?!*

*Doesn't three mean I love you?!*

*I didn't know my grandma likes young men*

*no no no no, not grandma*

*Is this really happening?*

*WTF DAWG*

Levi suddenly sees the sky getting dark. The sun is setting. His eyes widens as he remembers he has to be home before dark or he'll be sleeping next to the cold hard ground outside.

"I just remembered I have to get home before dark. See you Mathilda" Levi says as he is running and waving his hands to say goodbye.

"I'll swing by the shop some time later!" Levi added.

Mathilda stretches her hand as if to reach out Levi but ended up just waving too.

"At least tell me your name" she says under her breath.
