Main Xing Clan

A lonesome man stood in a huge chamber, hidden underground, watching 21 shining red spheres floating out a humongous and ancient opened arch double door. His eyes were warm, yet somewhat startled at the odd current events. Nearly a hundred years had passed since he rose up and became the latest patriarch for their declining Xing Clan.

Every new patriarch was given a single treasure passed down from many generations. This treasure was just a single piece of paper written with a few sentences on it. It was written by the 5th patriarch, the last sage of their Xing Clan, that an arch double door with a statue on each side will appear on a certain day and time so they could receive the final members of their declining Xing Clan within the Ancestor Chamber.

Because of this piece of paper, the Xing Clan had decline rapidly over the thousands of years, trapped in a vast isolated space. They were optimistic, not because of the final Xing Clan members, but the freedom that they will finally obtain. Thousands of years of being trapped can cause many irreversible psychological damages, but luckily, they had millions of textbooks to study upon.

Their Xing Clan used to be a powerful clan that was feared thousands of years ago in the Lunar Continent and many others but due to unfortunate events, they were killed to near extinction and isolated themselves from the world for thousands of years. They could not reproduce, nor could they escape their trap but were granted a limited lifespan of 3,000 years.

This lonesome man was the 14th patriarch, as the 13th was close to nearing her death. Albeit, in 99% of the clans, they wouldn't allow a woman to take over the patriarch roles but due to being isolated for so long, they did not discriminate by gender, age and preferences. There were only 81 members left, since many had accepted their death in peace, not wanting to waste their precious resources.

As the 14th patriarch stood there, the 21 red spheres landed onto the ground while the double doors slowly shut itself. The eyes of the beast-like statue on the left and the eyes of the warrior statue on the right lost its lustrous glow, appearing life-like and finely detailed to the eyes of those who hadn't witnessed the event.

Once the red spheres covering the Xing Clan members of Jade City dispersed, they observed their surroundings in wonder. Because the 14th patriarch hadn't shown his presence, most of the members finally collapsed in grief, trying to grasp the previous situation in their minds.

Their Xing Clan was destroyed by meteors, their members killed by demons and now, they found themselves saved but transported to an unknown location.

[Detecting A Powerful Lifeform Nearby]

"Father, who's that?" inquired Xing Chen, pointing at a middle-aged man standing from afar after his system detected the 14th patriarch.

Although he felt bad, he didn't have much ties to the Xing Clan members since a majority ignored him. Even so, this was a crazy event that changed his point of view. Besides his parents, he did mourn over his uncle and Elder Sim inwardly. Even though they used him for his intelligence, they did treat him kindly and gave him many benefits. In his heart, he would definitely avenge both of their deaths and the Xing Clan members too.

After such a traumatizing event with the demons, he didn't want to lose anyone close to him ever again. Especially his parents. Xing Chen would never be able to forgive himself if his parents had been harm since he had such an amazing leveling system.

Hearing Xing Chen's question, the other members turned their head to the lonesome man. Most had decent cultivation, especially Xing Yun. In fact, Xing Yun couldn't sense the lonesome man's cultivation at all. It was as if he didn't exist, yet they could see him.

"Welcome to the main Xing Clan," announced the 14th patriarch, inwardly stunned by Xing Chen's observation skills. The kid seemed 6 years of age but was able to sense him without any type of abilities. Besides obtaining freedom, he became somewhat interested in Xing Chen's potential.

"I am the 14th patriarch, Xing Mushu. Please follow me to the main hall to discuss any concerns you may have."

'What's with that strange look,' thought Xing Chen when he noticed that Xing Mushu's eyes lingered onto him with keen interest.

'Please don't tell me he's into male children…'

If Xing Mushu could read Xing Chen's mind, he would slap Xing Chen silly for thinking such ignorant and illicit thoughts. An upright man like him would never have a despicable hobby. The only thing in the minds of the main clan were to obtain freedom and travel.

Everyone looked at each other, unable to tell if this Xing Mushu was telling the truth or not. Originally, their Xing Clan was a branch clan that had escaped thousands of years ago and the main disappeared into the annals of history. Even their books did not have any further information regarding where the main clan was located, as it mysteriously vanished during an era changing war.

Only their clan, full of survivors, travelling across the Lunar Continent until they finally situated themselves in the mid-tier Jade City. Since then, the fame and power the Xing Clan once held became buried along the old era.

Finally, all 21 members agreed and followed Xing Mushu out of the Ancestor Chamber. In a new place, with little to no information, they had to accept the situation they were in. Such an expert was speaking to them as kin, so they no longer dared to harbor suspicions and decided to go with the flow. If this Xing Mushu had bad intentions, they would be instantly killed without him lifting a finger.

Afterwards, they reached the main hall of the main Xing Clan. All of them were overcome with awe once they step foot into the hall. The main hall was spacious, decorated in various decor and items they've never seen before in Jade City. Everything within the main hall matched the descriptions written in their clan's library. Even an idiot could tell there were some secrets that only their patriarch would know. Most of the members turned their heads, Xing Yun entering their vision, hoping some explanations.

"Xing Lei only told me about the gate key and how to activate it," responded Xing Yun, noticing their gazes. He could only shrug it off, since he too, didn't know the secrets of their Xing Clan either. The only thing on him was the spatial ring his brother left him. Before Xing Lei had died, he took the restrictions off the spatial ring, allowing Xing Yun to check the contents since it had become ownerless.

Eventually, Xing Yun would check the contents later after grasping the situation at hand. Right now, information was what they needed the most.

"Since we're here, I'll answer any questions you have," informed Xing Mushu.
