The hunter with the low ranked skill, Insight.

"Welp, I guess that is that, that dungeon wasn't much of a fight. I guessed from the start, oh well." Said one of the individuals, who settled on a rock nearby.

"Yeahh, Kong really stepped up again, defeating the boss as usual. He's just too strong, sometimes I think he's not even a D rank." Another individual, a female spoke, hugging Kong from behind while he giggled from her touch.

Meanwhile, as the team were discussing, Kim remained on the ground, his eyes widened in fear and his fingers trembling.

"You're fine… you're fine." He kept repeating to himself.

With a slight hiss, he shoved his fingers inside his pockets, shaking his head as a means to get rid of the fear he was feeling.

"So how many crystals did we manage to pull from this dungeon? it better be worth it or I swear I'll have issues with the guild." Utterd yet another member of the team, his axe balancing on his shoulder.

When Kim heard this, he immediately raised his head, watching as Kong pulled out a sac from the back he carried.

"Let's see." Kong began opening the sac, and then he spoke, "Woo, actually good, we have 4 purple and 2 blue".

"You're right! Damn, that's actually good, we are only five in number, just one purple is enough to take care of our expenses alone, hell, maybe we can even exchange it for more." The female spoke happily.

"I knew we made the right choice using the computer kid, finally, we get good shit out of this."

A sad smile hitched on Kim's face, and not one he knew he was going to set off. Slowly rising to his feet, he understood what was going to happen next.

"Here you go." Kong utterred, tossing one blue crystal towards Kim.

Immediately, Kim opened his hand to catch it. "Thank you." He bowed his head, his smile still on his face, like he was trying his very hardest to keep it on.

One blue crystal amounted to just 15 zens, not even enough for a day's worth of food, while the purple crystal was around 500,000 zens give or take.

But it had always been like that ever since he decided to be a Hunter. Unlike the rest of the Hunters around him, Kim's skill wasn't meant for battle.

Insight, Kim's R ranked class skill allows him to read whatever he sets his eyes on and equally analyze it to tell information about said target. But that was about it. He decided to use the skill to his advantage and help parties find dungeons with the most reward and high quality crystals, ranging from blue, green to red, each of different prices, while he always got the lowest share.

"Next time kid, stay with the party before you get yourself killed. I wouldn't want a murder case just cause we needed a radar boy." Kong advised, before walking away with his party following behind him.

Kim sighed.

'I heard you.' He uttered in his mind, raising his head to take a closer look at the crystal. Another sigh escaped his mouth, and then he walked away.

…..

The world wasn't always like this, filled with humans that defied the laws of nature and physics. It wasn't always filled with monsters and dungeons.

A long time ago, the world was as normal as it needed to be, people only had to worry about robbers and regular human problems.

Until it came, The great disaster.

It took the world by storm, giant looking things showed up all around the world, it was said they were so big, it could be seen from miles away.

These things that were later called The Observers, began to snow up more often. They slowly began to merge with the world. Two worlds collided, causing a breach of both worlds.

Monsters roamed the streets, dungeons and mysterious gates began to show up from nowhere.

Thankfully, the breach affected humans in a positive way, granting them powers to defend themselves. Only a few were blessed with this and those few were named Hunters.

…..

"I'm here to exchange my crystal." Kim utterred, standing in front of the counter. He placed the crystal on the scale and pulled out his Hunter ID for her to see while the cashier at the other side stared at him.

She could see how dirty he looked and the amount of injuries on his body was even more alarming.

"Are you okay?" The woman asked.

"Uhn?"

"N-Never mind…, so uhm, that would be 15 zens for the exchange." She uttered, grabbing the blue crystal and immediately reaching for her drawer to give him 15 gold zens.

"Thank you."

With that, Kim left the Hunter bank, his bag on one arm as he shoved his money down his pocket and made his way back home.

Opening the door to his home, Kim spoke while pulling off his shoe, "I'm home!".

"Big bro!" A female voice instantly greeted back.

A smile showed on Kim's face as soon as he saw his sister walking towards the door to greet him.

"I didn't think you'd still be awake, didn't you say you had something important to do tomorrow?" Kim walked in, dropping the groceries he bought on the counter.

"Yeah… I was…reading for a test."

Rapheal, his lil sister who was still in school and getting ready for college replied, a sad look forming on her face the moment she saw the state of her brother. He was injured all over, his clothes thorn and his hand completely bashed up.

Being only 18 years of age and his sister 16, Kim had always been the one taking care of the house. His dad works in a different country and his mom has been missing for a while, so it has always been just him and his sister.

"I brought dinner, you can eat, I'm a bit full already." Kim smiled, patting his sister on the head before walking off.

He entered his room, closed the door and laid flat on his bed. His room was small and cozy but all around him were posters of different famous Hunters that the world adored.

To be one of the famous Hunters and join a huge guild had always been Kim's dream. But with the skill he possessed, he knew that dream was only but a fleeting lie.

'Screw it, don't think, just close your eyes and sleep.' Kim thought to himself, the weight of the day's burdens pressing down upon him like a suffocating blanket. With a resigned sigh, he reached for his threadbare blanket, drawing it tightly around his weary frame as he sought solace in the embrace of sleep.

The room descended into a hushed stillness, broken only by the rhythmic cadence of Kim's steady breathing as he succumbed to the embrace of slumber.

Yet, amidst the resting, a small shift began to stir in the air, a palpable tension coalescing around a mysterious source of luminescence at the room's center.

A brilliant light bathed the surroundings in a magical glow, its radiant tendrils dancing and flickering with an otherworldly energy that crackled and sparked with unrestrained fervor.

With an almost sentient grace, the light's core began to unfurl, its inner sanctum revealed with a mesmerizing allure that seemed to beckon to Kim from the very depths of the unknown.

And then, without warning, it happened.

A colossal eye, its iris a swirling vortex of unfathomable depths, materialized within the heart of the radiant phenomenon, fixing its gaze upon Kim with a chilling intensity.
