4 03. The future school of the DEAD

After taking a quick shower, Kazuki left his room wearing only pants and without a shirt. He went to the kitchen, which had a nice aroma coming out of it, and saw Kyoko in an apron finishing their lunch. It seems she went for something safe for westerners, tonkatsu with rice.

'Nice,' thought Kazuki while ogling her a little. She seemed to be humming a song he didn't know, in a good mood given her swaying while cooking.

After a bit, she turned off the fire and turned back, seeing him leaning on the kitchen entrance with crossed arms over his bare chest and a hint of a smile on his face. She stood still, mouth open, while looking at his chest and arms.

'Gulp. Oh my god, why doesn't he look like a high schooler, dammit? Is it something in the food here? He totally looks like a college student. I can't see him as a teenager at all. Nee-chan, forgive me, for I won't be able to keep my hands away from him.'

Kazuki, seeing her state, knew that his preemptive strike was successful. He then went to her and with a finger touching her chin, closed her mouth.

"Kyoko-nee, let's eat, I'm starving." He didn't mention anything about her state, so after waking up from his call, she, with a bit of an alluring smile, responded to him.

"Yes, let's eat. I want you to eat a lot." She said, licking her lips a little bit.

This time it was Kazuki's turn to be frozen still. Kyoko grinned as she finally got a reaction out of him. Before she separated from him and went to the table.

After eating in silence while appreciating the good food, Kazuki then asked.

"Hey Kyoko-nee, can you show me around the neighborhood later? Also, if there's time, could you show me around the school?"

"Hmm, I suppose I should give you a tour around. The school though is around 40 minutes from here, and as it's cooling down, it's good for you to put on a warm shirt and bring a jacket too."

After that, they got ready and had first a walk around the neighborhood. Kazuki noted where the markets, pharmacies, tool shops, and even a department store were.

'A high-grade neighborhood with a lot of condos and high-rise apartment buildings. There aren't detached houses here. Being a teacher at this school pays well, it seems.' Kazuki contemplated, determined to keep his distance from this place in the future.

Through their makeshift date through the neighborhood, Kazuki always asked questions about Kyoko, about how long she had been a teacher, her subject (which was math), and she even told him about being the Ping Pong club advisor. He also answered her questions about his childhood and if he had any girlfriends that he left behind. His answer at first was just a suggestive smile that made Kyoko blush again before he laughed and told her that, no, he didn't.

Overall, this first day of theirs had done wonders to bring them closer. They felt as if they had known each other for years already, and there wasn't any of the awkwardness of meeting a new relative that you didn't know about before. For Kyoko, Kazuki's presence was comforting and much appreciated, as she was always alone at home before, and now she was confident that the future wouldn't be that way anymore now that Kazuki was in her life.

After the neighborhood date, they got into Kyoko's car and went to Fujimi Academy. On the way, they continued to talk and tease each other, creating a comfortable mood between them.

As soon as they got there, Kazuki's first thought at seeing the school was that it was HUGE. It made sense as it was a private boarding school, and the amount of space and things it had was astounding. And given that it was Friday at around 3 pm, there were a lot of students roaming around.

Many of these students looked at the usually stern, no-nonsense, and somewhat bitchy Math Teacher going out of her car with a smile on her face, accompanied by a handsome foreigner who seemed like a college student. Many were shocked by this, as they thought that hell would freeze over before they saw that teacher without an 'unsatisfied with life' look on her face.

Many girls were whispering to each other about who that guy was and why he was with their teacher. Was he her boyfriend? He seemed younger than her. They were curious, but once Kyoko looked in their direction, they scurried away, feigning ignorance.

"Ohh, so this is the scary mode Kyoko-san," Kazuki said with a smirk.

After making sure that her students weren't looking her way, she turned to Kazuki with a healthy blush on her face.

"Cough cough, stop that, Kazu-kun!" Kyoko tried to return to normal.

"Okay, let's go take a look around then… It seems there's a lot of things to see."

Fujimi Academy is on a large campus with multiple buildings in a fenced and gated area. The main building and at least two other buildings are four stories tall and connected by walkways on the 2nd and 4th floors. In addition to the main building where most classes are held, there is an administration office building, a dorm building, and several smaller buildings.

The largest of these smaller buildings appears to be a gymnasium. On top of the administration office building, there is an observatory that extends above the rest of the school and contains a large telescope and a room for Astronomy students to sleep in. The interior of the school looks like a typical school in that there are hallways lined with classrooms running throughout the building and many stairways in different locations around the school.

As with many schools in Japan, female students wear sailor outfits and male students wear military-style gakuran. The sailor blouses are white with green collars and a black bow on the front and are paired with a green skirt. The gakuran are black and consist of a long-sleeved jacket and matching pants.

'At least it's not an ugly outfit, so I'm fine with it. Some in Brazil are much worse.' Thought Kazuki. 'Oh, so there is the infirmary... Let's see if I can take a peek at my second girl.'

While Kyoko was showing Kazuki around the school, the rumors about Hayashi-sensei going around campus with a smile on her face together with an unknown man spread like wildfire. And it happened while they were in the corridor going to the infirmary.

"Oh, Hayashi-sensei, so you're indeed at school with a man," said a male slimy voice that made Kyoko's face turn into a scowl almost immediately before turning into a poker face. And Kazuki almost immediately knew who it was.

'Koichi Shido, the asshole that used his father's connections to do whatever he wanted. If I remember correctly he influenced people so well that in 2 days people were having orgies on a bus, it will be fun to take those girls away from him and make them mine heh, Miku Yuuki is nowhere near the main girls but she can be useful if tamed well and tame her I will hehe.' Thought Kazuki almost smirking.

"Shido-sensei, I can't seem to understand how who I am walking around with is something you should concern yourself with," answered Kyoko with a dry voice.

'Dayum, so that's how she is at school. Well, with a guy like Shido walking around I can't fault her. Cool that only I can see her cute side heh,' Kazuki almost chuckled, but his thought was cut short by the change in the conversation.

"Don't be like that Hayashi-sensei," said Shido with a fake smile on his face while approaching Kyoko, getting closer than he should. "After all, you didn't accept having a date with me, so I wanted to know which kind of man was your type. Should I say I'm disappointed in you-" Kazuki, having heard enough, cut Shido's speech.

"Hey, you're being awfully inconvenient right now. She doesn't seem comfortable with you invading her personal space. And think carefully about what you were going to say about someone you don't know, as they say, nobody will take you for a mute if you stay quiet." Kazuki, with a serious voice that Kyoko never heard before, said. He then pulled Kyoko's hand to have her take some distance from Shido.

Shido's eyes met Kazuki's and narrowed in annoyance.

"You're not someone from this academy, as a teacher here. It's my duty to make sure of your intentions on the sacred grounds of this institution," Shido said after noticing that there were still some students around.

'A snake trying to hide his poison. It would be a reasonable reason if I didn't know anything about him,' Kazuki thought.

"Oh, so there isn't even more of a motive for you to concern yourself. I'm transferring here; Kyoko-san is being kind enough to show me around the school before I start on Monday." Said Kazuki, making sure to emphasize the way he called her, gaining a few kyah's from the girls and some murderous gazes from some delusional boys. 'Heh, this anime trope makes me certain that I can get those girls.'

Shido's eyes actually brightened after knowing that Kazuki would be a student.

"Oh, so you will be our student, I'm sorry for misunderstanding your relationship. I hope to meet you in the classroom next week then; now I will take my leave." Shido theatrically left.

 Kazuki and Kyoko, who didn't say anything during their little spat, narrowed their eyes thinking about the same thing, 'this fucker will try to screw me/him over'.

After their annoying experience, they looked at each other and continued walking, Kyoko said in a low voice only for Kazuki to hear,

"Thank you; you didn't need to do that, but I'm grateful. We will talk about that at home."

"Actually, my mood kinda soured after that guy appeared. I have a preliminary understanding of the school now, so let's go home."

"Mine too, so let's go then."

While they were going out, Kazuki met eyes with someone, a girl with yellow eyes and light orange hair cut short that was kept back with a hairband. She also had a pair of earrings in each ear and a second earring in her left ear that was staring intently.

'Yuuki Miku, didn't think I'd see her today, but it's good. From what I know about her personality, she will come to me on her own. But let me give her a helping hand, heh.'

Kazuki returned the stare and made a motion as if he was looking her body all over, focusing on her eyes again and with narrowed eyes gave her a little sly smile and mouthed. 'See you soon.' Looking at her flushed cheeks, he knew this one was on the way already.

'Well, the initial survey of the school went almost without a hitch. I wanted to have crossed paths with the main cast, but I suppose I can't have everything.'

Then Kazuki entered Kyoko's car, and they went back home, calling it a day.
