2 "She's good in music, but dumb in science!"

The afternoon class started, and all students had already returned to their seats. When Sydney returned, she found a small piece of paper at the top of her desk. Curiously, she opened it. She read the message inside and she frowned in annoyance.

'Hey… Let's be friends...'

Sydney turned her head towards her new seatmate, and she caught him staring at her!

Matt winked at her, smiling as he saw Sydney's annoyed face. He said in a soft voice, "I want to be your friend, Orc face."

Sydney widened her eyes in surprise. How did he know her nickname? She glanced at the girls seated behind him, and they were looking at her like she's an ant!

"It must be those girls… Greta's underlings!" Sydney thought. When she was a kid, her classmates were calling her an orc, because when she gets mad, she places her lower teeth forward then biting her upper lip with it. Aside from that, when she's mad or upset, she walks very grumpily like an orc on the battlefield!

While looking at Matt angrily, she tore the paper into pieces. He smiled at her like he was enjoying her angry, orc mode.

Unfortunately, the science teacher, Ms. Aira Brentvale, saw her unattentiveness, "Sydney, can you give me the names of the notable scientists I mentioned earlier?"

Sydney stood up, "Uhm… About…" she glanced at Matt, and it seemed like he was whispering the answer.

Matt softly spoke but enough to reach Sydney's ears, "Isaac Einstein… Albert Newton… Charles Curie… Marie Darwin."

Oh, the answers! Sydney was already thinking of changing her mind for once to become the VIP student's friend!

She gave a thumbs-up gesture on her side, and confidently answered, "Isaac Einstein, Albert Newton, Charles Curie, and Marie Darwin!"

All of her classmates clapped their hands!

Sydney was so happy, and so, she sat down. She even smiled sweetly at Matt, who she thought of as a hero!

"Why did you sit down, Sydney?" Ms. Aira said in a cold tone, "Stand beside the door until my class ends."

"Huh? But why, ma'am?" Sydney was puzzled. "I answered correctly, right?"

"No. You interchanged the first and last names. Now go and stand there!" Ms. Aira exclaimed as she pointed at the door.

Her classmates laughed, and she scratched her head, pouting as she walked sluggishly towards the door.

But before that, she first glared at the laughing Matt! There she thought that he would really help, but it was the opposite!

Sydney swore in heaven and in hell, that she would never, ever befriend the jerk who gave her the wrong answers in the strict teacher's class!

The orc lady counted every minute that had passed while she was standing beside the door. It felt like each minute was longer, and she stared intently at the ticking wall clock on the other side of the wall.

When the science class ended, Ms. Aira stepped out of the room and went to her next class. Sydney then ran in front of Matt's seat.

"You!!!" Sydney exclaimed, and her classmates glanced at her, while Matt grinned. She pointed her finger at his face, "You did it on purpose! You gave me the wrong answers!"

Olivet, who saw that her friend started a ruckus, stood up and approached her, "Sydney, calm down…" She knew that once Sydney entered her orc mode, she needed to calm her down again.

"No, Olivet. Let me get mad for a while," Sydney said, her hand gesturing to her friend to stop, then glared intensely at Matt. "Why are you making fun of me? What did I do to you?"

Matt seemed pleased that Sydney was talking to him. He sat comfortably at the wooden chair, while he stared upwards to the orc lady's face as she was standing. He said, "I was just helping you. But it seems like I answered wrong, so… Sorry." and he winked at her!

It was so obvious that Matt was teasing her. Sydney was very good at music and arts, but science is her greatest weakness!

"You liar!" Sydney shouted. "I knew it, a spoiled brat VIP like you shouldn't have entered our school-"

"Sydney!" Greta exclaimed, cutting her off. Her family's close to Matt's family, so she felt that she needed to protect him, "You're crossing the line!"

"And he didn't?" Sydney rolled her eyes.

Greta gave a smug look, "It's not his fault that you're dumb!"

"Greta!" Olivet called, "You're too much!"

Matt cleared his throat, and they all looked at him. He stood up, suddenly cupped Sydney's chin with his hand, and tilted it up, making her gaze into his deep grey eyes.
