Chapter 45

"Let's find a better place to sit", I said when he stood beside me and walked out to sit near the poplars tree where I mostly sit with Jennie when we have nothing doing for sometime. He didn't utter a word and just followed closely behind me. As we walked out, some girls were just staring at us in awe. I wasn't surprised by their stares because it's really not normal for Ryan Parker to follow me so closely without trying to bully me. When we got to our destination, I sat on the bench near the tree waiting for him to sit but he just stood there as if he couldn't move his body.

"Why are you still standing there?", I asked him.

"Well, you didn't ask me to sit right?", he asked back. Since when did he wait for my permission before doing something.

"You are really surprising me today…. well, you can sit", I couldn't stop myself from speaking what was on my mind.

"Thanks", he said when he sat down.

I didn't know where to start from after he had sat down but one way or the other, someone had to start the conversation. I then cleared my throat to speak first.

"Urhm…what was is you wanted to say this morning?", I asked in an unfriendly tone.

"Well, nothing serious, I just wanted to thank you for saving me the other day", he simply said.

'Now you realize you have to say thanks', I thought to myself.

"Well, that's nothing to thank me for, I just did what I had to do to save a mate in need", I shrugged.

"I didn't know you would have helped me after all I did to you", he continued.

"The new me doesn't hold grudges, so you were just lucky "

"Mmmm I see", he smirked. I turned to look at him with that smirk on his face and honestly, he really has the looks. I looked away as fast as I could to avoid any silly thoughts that would want to show up.

"Anyways, did you visit the hospital ?", I asked since I couldn't stop worrying about his health.

"It was nothing serious that needed any attention so I just went home to rest"

"What?…. You were dying and you are saying it isn't serious ?", I yelled angrily at him. I didn't know why I was feeling that anger but I just didn't understand why he would say it wasn't serious while I saw for myself what was happening to him.

"Hey, relax Ash… sorry I mean Aislin. I'm really fine",the way he corrected himself fast made me chuckle.

"I didn't know you could be like this", I had to confess to him. He was really cute just now.

"Be like what?", he asked curiously.

"I always knew you to be cold, why are you being like this today?"

"Some situation can change people completely you know?".

I knew he wanted to say something but he was hesitating. I didn't want to loose the chance of finding out the truth about all that had happened before my admission.

"What do you mean by…?"

"Ash", I was interrupted by the mention of my face name. I turned just to find Keenan staring at me fiercely that I could feel the heat of his stares. I had to cut everything out with Ryan so I could go talk to Keenan but I didn't have enough time to end our conversation properly. Before I could finish what I wanted to say, I was held on the wrist and dragged away by Keenan.
