New Secretary

"Don't bring the food here in our room next time!" Ivy murmured as she arranged the cutlery they used.

"Just leave it there and Lydia will come to take it later,"

"You know I don't want anyone in our room," Ivy said, clearly upset with Edward once more.

"Sorry!" As he grabbed the dishes from Ivy, Edward said. He'd forgotten that Ivy was adamant about not allowing anybody else inside their personal space.

After a few minutes, the two of them were already in the car, with Edward driving and Ivy checking her email on her phone.

"Baby, I think we should go to the mall and get you some clothes."

Ivy shifted her gaze to Edward as a reaction to what he said. She had already considered it, but due to the volume of work she is currently managing, she is unsure how to proceed. Ivy remained silent and resumed reading her email.

Out of respect for the owner and the new President, the employees greeted them right away as they arrived at the office. They walked onto Edward's modest office, which Ivy would now occupy.

"Do you have HR's local phone number?" Ivy inquired as to Edward who was standing next to her.

"Why?"

Ivy said as she opened her own laptop, "I wanted a new secretary for me."

"Don't worry, baby, you've got a new secretary!" Edward smiles as he responds.

"I have already?" Ivy asked incredulously.

"Yes, there is one, and it's me!" Edward exclaimed with pride. When Ivy heard Edward announce that he would be his new secretary, she frowned.

"Is that a joke?" As she began to arrange the papers in front of her, Ivy answered unwillingly.

"I'm serious!" Edward yelled as two people entered the room, carrying a table and placing it near the door.

"Does the company no longer have the financial resources to hire a new secretary for me?"

"It's not like that Baby, I just really wanted to be your secretary, so we can be sure that no spy can enter and steal the important information of our company."

Ivy was still not convinced by what Edward was saying. She still doubted that he would be able to do the duty of being her secretary, and instead of making her job easier, it might be even heavier. Another thing he is very clingy as if he does not want to let her go.

"Don't worry Baby I promised that I would work harder to ease your job." Ivy saw the determination in Edward's eyes so she agreed reluctantly she just thinks that she will try first if it ever becomes a burden and then she will look for someone else to replace him.

"Okay, if that's what you want," said Ivy as she continued what she was doing.

"So what's my first task?" Edward asked barely excited.

"Go to all the managers and tell them that we will have an emergency meeting regarding the company. They need to prepare all the necessary documents that to be reported to the president. Set the meeting exactly ten in the morning in the conference room." Ivy said directly while studying the report given by Peter concerning Tekno Innovation. She studied all Edward's wrong decisions that result in the company in this situation.

"Right away Boss!" Edward replied saluting before leaving Ivy alone.

Ivy just looked around and the room became even more crowded for her because of Edward's table that he just put on the side of the door as if he was her guard.

Ivy carefully analyzes all the data so that she will come up with a possible solution to the company crisis. While Edward was busying calling potential partners to ask for an appointment for the new President. Ivy sees that Edward seems serious about what he's doing so she just lets him go, especially since he's not ashamed to be her secretary.

Ten minutes before ten Ivy stood up to attend a general meeting to talk to the managers. Edward quickly followed him as he took the laptop she was carrying.

When they entered, all the managers were already there. It is in their faces that they are excited to meet the new President.

"Good Morning Ma'am and Sir!" they were happy to see Ivy and Edward enter.

"Good Morning!" Ivy said seriously while Edward had all the smiles that you thought were greeting his fans.

"So, let's start the meeting!" said Ivy sitting in her chair. While Edward sat in the right chair near Ivy before speaking.

"Our agenda in today's meeting is regarding the company, it includes our manpower, financial status, marketing process, product development at sales. So let me introduce first our new President Ms. Ivy Nolasco." Everyone was surprised because Edward was the one who said the agenda, so to make everything clear, he also said his new position in the company. "I am the new secretary of our new President so if you have a concern or want to say something to her you can tell me."

Edward would not be too embarrassed or degraded in the eyes of his former employee, Ivy spoke. "It's only temporary and the purpose is to train him how to manage the company properly, so don't ever think that he just a mere secretary now!" Ivy felt Edward grab her hand and squeeze slightly in gratitude for what she said

Because everyone seemed to understand what Ivy said, the meeting started.

The first that gave their report is the Human Resources. Rose Salcedo is the HR manager. She discussed the number of employees currently employed in the company and Ivy could not believe that from 500 employees from the past, it has only become 100 now. That's why she doesn't see a receptionist and security guard downstairs because there's really no one for that position.

"Do we have a problem with employee compensation?" Ivy asked.

"We don't have any problem regarding that and we can still pay everyone for their salary on time," Rose said while looking at Edward as if they have something that Ivy shouldn't know.
