Chapter 5

It was truly lovely and heavenly as I strolled through the garden. A tree in front of me attracted my eye since it had a rose bloom growing underneath it. I got closer and picked it up, recalling that my mother had previously given me this specific rose bloom.

Suddenly, I heard my name " Mary" being called out. I looked around, but no one was there, so I decided to follow the direction of the voice.

"Mary", Another voice called in thinner tone, then I saw my mother, sister, and father.

I yelled, "Mom, Dad, Liz," and went towards them, trying to give them hugs but I realized I couldn't touch them. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you, my Child," Mom spoke in a tearful voice.

I asked, "What are you talking about?"

"We died sis, that horrible man killed us", my little sister Liz responded.

It was all my fault; they perished as a result of me, I stood there somberly crying.

My mother said, "Don't cry my child, no harm will come to you".

"The world is in danger Child and only you can save it with your special gift," my father stated.

I cried out, "Can someone help explain what's going on here?".

"You'll understand everything soon child," were the last words of my Dad before they all vanished.

I yelled out loud, "Mom, Dad, Liz!!! Don't leave me." I opened my eyes as I felt a hand tap my shoulder and saw his brown eyes staring at me.

"Why are you screaming Princess, a nightmare, perhaps? Hello, life again ", he chuckled.

I snatched his hand off my shoulder and said, "Don't touch me!". He backed off immediately and headed to the door. "I'll be back Princess", he winked before exiting the room. I rolled my eyes before getting up from my bed to stretch .

I spent a few minutes looking around the beautiful, pink-painted room I was in. there was a cushion on the left side of the room and that was it, no TV, no windows and I frowned. "I really need to figure out a way to escape", I muttered to myself, there was another bed next to mine and I figured it was his. Later, he came back carrying a tray of food. As he set the tray in front of me, he grinned. Definitely enticing, the food's aroma made me realize I was hungry.

"You must be incredibly hungry since you haven't eaten in two days because you've been sleeping. He fixed his eyes on me while he spoke.

" I'm not hungry", I snapped, my stomach started to grumble, and I quickly covered my eyes with my hands out of shame.

"Not very good at lying, princess," he chuckled once again, "eat it up, it's all yours, and there's more in the kitchen. There is a bathroom in the other room in case you wanna freshen up, I bought you some nice clothes too and I bet you'ld love them", he smiled again before saying he was going outside for a little jog. I took time to study him before he left the room , it was the first time I had really looked at his body and good God, he was bare chested, I almost gagged at the sight of his toned arms. Once more, a loud noise from my stomach reminded me that I needed to eat. I promptly bit into my sandwich, and it was delicious.

I said to myself, "Not just a hottie, but a good cook as well." I was such a fool to think about someone who had abducted me in this way, he could harm or kill me at any time.

When I was done eating, I found myself wanting more, I had never tasted a sandwich as delicious as that. I went straight to the kitchen and got some more sandwiches, I found a fridge close to the kitchen counter, I opened it and saw a lot of drinks in it. "He's such a drinker", I rolled my eyes, "well at least we have something in common", I smiled as I grabbed a bottle of vodka and headed back to the room.

I was awoken by the sound of his car outside, I had been sleeping the whole time and I didn't realize it, I drank a lot of wine and I fell dizzy. I heard the entrance door fling open and he walked to straight to the room. He looked a bit surprised seeing the empty bottle of wine and my scattered hair, "Just a few hours of my absence and you're already misbehaving", he shook his head and chuckled, he pulled me out of bed immediately, "you need to go freshen up immediately", he added.

"Don't give me orders, you kidnapped me remember and you're not supposed to care if I freshen up or not", I fumed. He didn't utter a word, rather, he took a few steps forward until he was standing a few inches away from me. He was really tall and huge and I found myself admiring his beautiful brown eyes again, I looked at his lips which looked very inviting. I noticed he was looking at me too and I turned away feeling ashamed. I cursed myself in my head, hating the fact that I found this kidnapper attractive. "I need to get out of here soon before I get killed", I thought to myself as I headed to the bathroom to go have a clean bath. Just as I took a few steps forward, he grabbed my arm and pulled me back. His tight grab on my arm sent shivers down my spine.

"Henry", he smiled.

"Wh- what?", I stammered.

"Call me Henry", he responded ," I'm not kidnapping you okay, I am protecting you sweetheart". He added. I found myself staring into his again as he lowered his head towards mine, our lips a few inches apart.

"I don't need your protection", I shut my eyes and spoke, swallowing my saliva hard. "Don't you ever touch me again", I added before pulling away and exiting the room.
