1 Chapter 1:

So this is how it all started.

It was just another normal day. Normal system checkups, normal census and health checkups of the crew and the citizens living inside, and normal patrol with periodical post changes between the guards. when suddenly, the ship's alarm went off.

The ship's alarm is designed to go off only when an extremely serious problem occurs. And it is an extremely serious problem, up to the very extreme.

The people inside all gathered in the main hall as they practiced in their monthly drill, where announcements were made in case the alarm went off or when there is something big to announce.

they were all clamoring about what could have possibly set the alarm off. Did they find something seriously wrong with the ship? did someone from the crew die? Are there any spottings from another ship coming to loot them? all these questions sent them into panic and confusion.

Finally, the announcer came on stage, above where the people were standing and talking fast. He cleared his throat. 'ahem...ahem...dear citizens, may I have your attention please?' he asked sternly.

Deril was a very calm man. He knew how to handle any situation calmly and that's how they mostly tried to calm people down. Panic is never the right answer in a serious situation.

'We are experiencing some...inconvenience in the ship...but I'm sure there is nothing to worry about...we will fix this by tomorrow. There is nothing to panic about, you may leave to your respective rooms and rest your heads for the day. we will get right back to you once we are fixed with the problem.' he declared.

It seems like he set a positive yet unconvincing remark on the people. They still didn't believe him but the crowd seem to quieten a bit. It's like when a teacher walks in and the students don't stop talking but whisper instead.

The chattering was still going on. People didn't seem to believe him that much.

Deril had a talent for convincing people. He turned off the mic and sighed.

This situation might've gotten out of control even if there was the slightest bit of hesitation from him. His job is just as hard as the others. 'any word from the commander?' he asked through his communication pad.

There was no reply from the other side. 'hello? number 008, come in?' he repeated. No answer. He was getting impatient. The alarm was still ringing and there was nothing they were doing. 'Goh! come on! the alarm is still ringing and they are not leaving!'

The people were standing there and one of the babies started to cry loudly, sending some of them into more panic. 'ahh...nothing to worry about my dear people, it's just a system error, we will be getting that fixed later on.'

'FOR GOD'S SAKE WILL SOMEONE TURN THAT THING OFF!' he yelled backstage. There was still no answer.

'Commander Deril, come in! this is the crew captain and steerer speaking. It seems there has been a warping error and we are getting sucked inside Despondos. The location we're entering is unknown..' he replied.

He was in utter shock when he heard that. How is he going to explain that to this herd of goats down there?

'what? are you going to get that fixed sooner or will it not be?' he asked.

'We don't know now for certain, as the warping is set by crew manager Cyran.' he replied.

'Cyran?!' he shocked. 'I knew that boy was bad news! he never did anything right! why did you even make him supervisor?' he sneered. Cyran and Deril were facing a conflict just not so long ago.

'What we can do this now is make the people calm down and analyze what kind of problem we are facing now. Our assistant manager skrill and the rest of the crew are working on it. We can't do anything to stop it, unfortunately.' he sighed from the other side.

'Oh for the love of!' he grabbed the mic angrily and huffed. Stay calm, he thought to himself, this is just like another episode of Love is war, where she cheats on him and tries to stay calm about the situation.

'citizens, there is a serious problem, we are getting sucked into nowhere and we need your all's a corporation for this thing to be resolved.' the voices raised and people were screaming now. Ugh! do you ever listen to me? I said calmly! he thought.

Meanwhile, a young boy was struggling with controlling the ship.

'Engine down at 60 percent the machine alarmed. the lights flickered red and the sound of the alarm disrupted his thoughts.

'Engine down to 50 percent.' It yelled again.

He flicked the emergency button, but in vain. He tried again, and again, but still nothing.

The functionality is suddenly disabled. Not disabled, sabotaged!

'Well do something!' he yelled at the machine. It didn't react.

His eyes were swelled with tears and his forehead was sweaty. He didn't want to do this. But he had no choice.

'No one would believe me anyway.' He said through his tears.

If he gets ejected with his space suit, there is a chance his whole body explodes if someone also sabotaged it. And even if it wasn't, he will be still floating in space and it will only be a matter of time before they find him again.

The only chance he'll have a chance of survival island on another planet. But with the engine along with the shields down, he might land with too much force and not survive. But if it has a thick enough atmosphere…

He hasn't explored this part of space. Everything is new to him. Normally this would excite him, but he was sort of in a life-or-death situation, so he couldn't.

The celestial bodies, the comet that just passed by, the various planet systems, he passed through all of them but didn't stop at any.

Suddenly, everything started glowing, the pod thrust all its energy into this anti-matter hole.

'what is happening right now-' the light was too bright for him to see. He covered his eyes as the massive force pushed him through, tearing the fabric of space and time itself.

'setting coordinates for the nearby planet.' It set several digits with a latitude and longitude as the gravity of the planet pulled them through. His eyes were still too damaged from the bright light, so he couldn't see himself falling to his death.
