21 Let's Imagine: Side Story! A Terrible Fate!

| Osaka, Japan, Three months ago |

A beer bottle is slammed towards a wall. Alcohol drips down the surface as glass cracks upon reaching the ground.

An older man wearing a suit grins.

"Hand me another one!"

"Y-yes, dear."

An older woman walks over to the kitchen and opens the refrigerator.

The man snaps his fingers.

"Girl, come sit next to your daddy."

He smiles and pats the seat next to him.

The young girl, standing in front of him, balls her first in frustration.

"You're not... my dad."

The man stands up from the couch and walks over to her.

"Ungrateful little bitch!"

He grabs her by the hair and throws her to the ground.

"If I want something, you better do it, little girl."

"Yuumi!"

The mother rushed over to her.

"Please…Please don't hurt her."

"Then teach her some dam respect,"

He walks back over to the couch and flips through channels on the TV.

"Or I'll kick your asses out, and you'll be sleepin' on the streets!"

The woman picks Yuumi up, walks towards the door, and opens it, leading to the main hallway.

"Why? ...Why do we have to put up with him, mom?"

Yuumi's mother looks down and clutches her dress.

"It's only for a little bit…I just need a bit more time to get back on my feet. He's helping us out financially."

Breaking away, Yuumi runs up the stairs and dashes to her room, slamming the door behind her.

Her mother sighs and walks back to the room with the older man.

Yuumi jumps into her bed and thrashes her head into a pillow.

"Dam him, Dam him, Dam him!"

She peaks to the left and glimpses at a picture of her late father, who passed away last year.

"I miss you…papa,"

She quickly dozes off to sleep.

. . .

CRASH!

Yuumi awakens only a few minutes from her nap and picks herself up, rubbing her eyes.

Thunder can be heard roaring outside as the high winds cause the trees around the property to shake ferociously.

"What was that?"

She moves toward her door and paces down the hall.

"Mom?"

She races down the stairs and runs towards the kitchen.

Yuumi opens the door and gasps.

"MOM!"

Her mother's body lay lifeless on the ground as a red fluid expulsed from her head.

The older man can be seen with a beer bottle in his hand.

"Fuckin' bitch, get up."

He kicks the body and hicks from his large beer intake.

Yuumi rushes over to her mom.

"Mom! Mom!"

She rolls her mother on her back and lays her head on her lap.

"She's fine,"

The older man stumbles forward.

"... Jush a bit of ah headache, she'll walk it off."

Yuumi glared with fiery red eyes.

"Stay away from her, you asshole!"

"The…the fuck ju jush' say,"

He advances but trips over himself and falls to the ground.

"Awh shit.."

Her mother's eyes opened, and she looked at her daughter with console.

"Yu-Yuumi,"

Her life bleeding away, she rests her palm on Yuumi's cheek,

"Go now…run…."

The older man balances himself and stands up crooked.

"You wanna die to bitch?"

Tears start to run down Yuumi's face.

"I'm not going anywhere!"

"P-please.."

Yuumi's mother's hand slowly drops to the floor.

"Mom? Mom?!"

Yuumi shakes her vigorously to no avail.

She turns to the man now advancing toward her and steps back, carefully resting her mother's head onto the ground.

"I-I'll go and get help, please hang on!"

She rushes towards the door.

The man chases after her but trips over the lifeless woman.

"Fuckin' whore,"

He kicks her hand away and attempts to stand.

Yuumi rushes to the front door and pushes it open. A large driveway with many expensive cars in sight, she runs past them and to the main gate.

The rain crashes down, and thunder can be heard crackling in the distance.

She puts in a code, and the gate opens. Looking behind her, a large mansion with bright lights was displayed to her.

A mixture of rain, sweat, and tears run down her face as she breaks through the small opening of the gate.

Sprinting down the driveway, she turns into a forest and breaks for the main road.

Her socks cold and damp with nothing to shield them, she steps on rocks and pine-cones, enduring the pain.

The dimness of the night led the fleeing girl astray as her footing is lost on a decline. She tumbles down the hill and hits trees, rocks, and bushes, scratching her exposed arms and legs.

Her head is hit on a rock before the hill ends, and she falls onto black pavement.

Yuumi looks up in a daze, barely able to make sense of her surroundings,

"... Somebody ..."

Two bright lights are seen in her line of sight. She turns to face them as it makes its way toward her at full speed.

The bright light presses on and continues forward; The lights now reflect off her pupils.

"Please…hel—"

. . .

Yuumi opens her eyes and frantically stands up. She looks around to make sense of her surroundings.

A large silver veil danced above and below her.

"W-where am I?"

"The real question is, where are you going to go?"

Yuumi faces a woman in a white dress with golden eyes sitting on a throne with legs crossed.

"What? Who the hell are you?"

"Hey!"

A girl with aqua hair scowled, standing next to the throne.

"Don't talk to Lady Helena with that tone!"

"It's alright, Seraphina."

Helena raised her hand.

"Humans deal with a roller-coaster of emotions after death. It's only natural that she's venting."

Helena lowers her hand and gazes upon the red-haired girl.

"Unfortunately, you've died just a few seconds ago."

"I-I what,"

Yuumi blinks then throws her hand in frustration,

"Don't fuck with me!"

Seraphina steps forward and snaps her fingers. Yuumi immediately freezes up and sits in her chair.

"T-the hell... did you do to me?"

Seraphina smirks.

"This is what happens when you speak shamefully in front of Lady Helena!"

Helena holds her hand up, and karate chops Seraphina on the head.

"Owie!"

Yuumi is quickly let out of the paralysis and gasps for air.

"You apparently haven't learned from your previous mistake," Helena insisted, "Maybe we don't want video games for another month?"

"NO! Please anything but that Lady Helena!"

Seraphina whimpers and turns to face me.

"I'm sorry, Ok!"

Yuumi shifts her gaze over to Seraphina and back to Helena.

She points at the blue-haired goddess with a satirical expression.

"I don't believe her."

Helena raises her finger in the air.

"No Genshin Unpact for another month!"

"NOOO,"

Seraphina falls to the floor and balls her tears out.

Yuumi chuckles. "So I really died, huh.."

"... Wait, what happened to my mother? Is she here?"

Yuumi looks around frantically.

Helena looks at her in wonder, then snaps her fingers, a book appears in front of her, and the pages flip hastily.

The pages stop turning, and she looks up.

"Unfortunately, your mother is deceased..."
