Let's get married?

He gently tugged her hair behind her ear and whispered into her ears, "What else would I need while you are there?" "What more could I desire when you’re there?".

Chapter 1

Evelyn POV:

"Agghh, such a grumpy man," I said to myself with a grimace and got seated.

Why does he have to be this way all the time? Why can't he be a little nicer to me? I sat down in my seat. I really hate my CEO because he's very snaky at times, but I really have to do this job of being an excellent personal assistant; after all, I have to look after myself. Being an orphan is not easy to trust; it's very difficult at times, but I have a very good friend named Idami with me so far, and she's everything to me.

Miss Evelyn, come to my cabin!

I once again went to Mr. Hadden's cabin. He was seated on his couch next to his cabinet.

"How can I help you, sir?" I said it with a stern face so that he would know how I was feeling, though I knew he certainly didn't care.

"I apologise Miss Evelyn for being a bit insolent," he said with a firm face while going through the documents.

"No problem, sir, is there anything I can help you with?" I said with a stern face.

"Miss Evelyn, come and sit here," he said politely while looking at me.

I was stunned to see his tone change, though I was very content with that apology.

"Yes, sir, I'm coming," I said politely with a smile as I sat in front of him.

With his hazel eyes, buss cut hairstyle, sharp jawline, tall physique, and lean muscles, I love seeing his biceps trying to escape from his shirt; he's very attractive. He looks so captivating, and here I am crushing over his physique—such a shame I should remain composed.

"Miss Evelyn, are you done with the staring?" He said it with a smirk.

"Sorry, sir, I was thinking of something," I said out of embarrassment.

"Are you contemplating something, or me?" He chuckled as he said it.

Agghh, this man is so irksome, but he looks so striking while smiling. Right now, I'm melting.

"No, sir, nothing like that; is there anything I can do for you?"

"Please postpone today's meeting and reschedule it for tomorrow at 11 a.m.," he said with a composed face.

"Ok, sir, I understand," I said politely.

"Now you can leave, Miss Evelyn," he said.

Is that all he wanted to say!!!! I guess he could have said that while I was standing, what was the point of making me sit beside him? Such a dumbbear

I left his cabin; though he's grumpy, he's also a bit affable.

So it was almost 5 p.m., so I gathered my things and went out to see Mr. Hadden. As I could see from his window, he was still working. I knocked on the door.

"Come in," he said while writing something on a piece of paper.

"Sir, it's time to leave," I said with a smile.

"Oh, yes, wait a minute; I'm coming," he said.

Indeed, he's very industrious when it comes to working.

We left the office.

"Goodbye, Mr. Hadden." I smiled.

"Goodbye, Miss Evelyn," he said with a composed face.

I drove to my flat; it's a bit run-down, but in the future, I'll undoubtedly purchase a better flat. I knocked because I knew it was Idami's day off and she would be at home.

When we enter my apartment, there is a tiny living room, a kitchen over the left end, a straight path, and two bedrooms, one on the left end (Idami's room), the other on the right end (my room), as well as bathrooms in each of the bedrooms.

"How was your day, girl?" She said it with a smile.

"Not very good because that grumpy bear scolded me in front of the entire staff for misplacing a few important documents; I know my mistake, but I felt very humiliated," I explained.

"And then?" she asked.

I responded with relief, "He did apologise, even though I wasn't expecting him to."

"Great! At least he apologised, which is something new," she said with amusement.

"Yeah, whatever; I'm going to freshen up; see you later," I said as I entered my room.

I got freshened up and laid on my bed, as today was a bit exhausting. I slept for about an hour, after which Idami called me for snacks. We chatted, and then I went to my room. So tomorrow I have to set up the conference room for a meeting, and this time I won't give that grumpy bear any chance to humiliate me.

When I think of him, I picture a confident, bold, industrious, and composed type of person. And I always make mistakes that can even get me fired, but he's good enough not to do that. I doubt that I would make a good secretary for him since I believe that there are many people who are more qualified than I am. If I think about it, he has always shown me a lot of consideration. Perhaps it's because I am younger than him—currently, he's 29 and I'm 23—but I'll undoubtedly learn a lot from having him around.
