15 Discovering Limitations

A fan appeared out of thin air in Kikyo's hand, " Just know Leon I won't go easy on you. " Instead of responding Leon tilted his head to the right avoiding the thin needle that shot towards him. Her aloof demeanor disappeared as Leon started to close the distance in between them, opening her fan Kikyo waved it in an arc cause the air to distort slightly.

Leon started to randomly swing his sword in front of him, instead of hitting thin air Leon's strikes sparked as he struck more invisible needles.

' What's going on Leon shouldn't be able to detect my Nen needles, and there's no way he learned En in the span of an hour.

So it's his Nen Ability but what is it. ' Closing her fan Kikyo pointed it straight at Leon's figure, wanting to test something Kikyo let her needles become visible as they rose from the ground before they all flew unerringly towards Leon.

In a feat of pure skill and strength, Leon used his sword to deflect half of the needles coming his way. The ones he could block he had to dodge, with a final back handspring Leon found an opening. Throwing his sword it flew unerringly towards his mother's face, it was a last-ditch effort but he knew it wouldn't work.

Raising her hand Kikyo caught the sword with her fingers as he needles all stopped right before they pierced Leon's body.

With glee Kikyo started to clap, " How could you try and throw a sword at your's mother face. I'm so proud of you Leon, and it looks like Milluki enjoyed it too. "

Looking over Leon saw a puggy baby looking over the edge of the arena, walking over Leon picked up Milluki looking down at the pit filled with animal corpse all dragged to the side of the pit to form a makeshift ladder. Kikyo looked down at the pair of brothers, " Leon what's your Nen Ability. "

" I call it Conductor's Manual, I don't know its full range of abilities but if I observe a person they're written down in my book. It gives me supernatural insight into what a person might do or attack. " Pausing for a second Kikyo tried to decapitate Leon her hand aimed straight for his neck, dropping to the floor Leon swept out with his leg trying to trip Kikyo.

Jumping over the attack Kikyo smiled, " It defiantly seems you can't be caught unaware, did you learn anything else. " Leon sighed at his mother's behavior, " If we were to fight to the death right now I'm sure I have a least a fifty percent chance of winning, it seems that the more a person attacks me the more and further I can predict. " Kikyo grinned, " Such a perfect ability for an Assassin once you spot your target all resistance is futile. "

Leon nodded, " I need to get back to training I don't feel like I've discovered all of my Hatsu's abilities. " Putting Milluki on the ground Leon started to run back towards the manor, ' I wonder how I would face against grandpa. "

-10 minutes Later-

Leon crashed into the wall of the room coughing up blood, after explaining his Nen ability to Zeno the old man had attacked him out of the blue. While Leon would know it would happen it didn't matter as the old assassin strikes were too fast for him to react to.

Getting to his feet for what must be the hundredth time Leon grabbed his left arm before forcing it back into the socket. Rolling to the side Leon avoided the axe kick that would have broken his neck. Zeno smiled at his grandson, " Well done that was the first one you dodged. "

Gritting his teeth Leon's mind was racing, ' There's no way I can survive this fight, I need to stop him from attacking. If I understand it I can change it to fit my plans. ' Conjuring his book the tome opened to his grandfather's piece, not resisting the next attack Leon let himself go flying as he observed the pages.

' If this music truly relates to people maybe I could...' With a jolt of inspiration, Leon flexed his Nen causing the music to change landing on his feet Leon looked at his grandfather, ' I really hope this works. '

Leon watched as his grandfather in almost slow-motion flew towards him his arm aimed to pierce his heart, Leon had just enough time to grab Zeno's wrist before his feet were lifted off the ground.

Grunting Leon looked down at Zeno who held him against the wall making a curios sound Zeno dropped Leon, " What did you do child, there is no way you should have been able to catch my wrist. "

Leon spat blood and rubbed his neck, " I figured out that music has a tempo or rhythm, each person has a rhythm their heartbeat which there's a limit to. I just made your body speed the same as your heartbeat. I call it Heart's Tempo. "

Zeno grinned, " Very well done, you've worked hard enough. The rest of the day is yours. "

Rubbing his still sore neck Leon left his grandfather's room, ' Damn it, did he really need to do that. ' Sighing Leon ran into the forest trying to find a certain animal, stopping as he spotted a large set of dog tracks Leon grinned before he sped up.

After a minute Leon landed on a large purple wolf that was chewing on a human corpse, " Mike are you eating in between meals again. "

The mountainous wolf tried to hide his meal before it lowered its head in shame and whimpered, chuckling Leon searched behind Mikes's ear that was nearly as large as him. " Don't worry I won't tell Mom if you do me a favor. " Shaking his head in agreement Mike listened to the plan Leon whispered in his ear. "
