51 #51 Weak

The next day, Chabashira arrived with the rolled-up poster most likely containing the results of the midterms. Everyone had impatient expressions but no one was actually nervous.

Chabashira herself looked quite surprised while looking over the entire class.

"Honestly, I'm impressed by your scores. I didn't think that so many students would tie with perfect scores in most subjects. Even those less academic capable were able to score quite high...You all must have studied very diligently for this exam." Chabashira said with a faint smile, her words sounded even as praise but Yuichi could feel a bit of sarcasm, especially when she mentioned how they had to study really diligently.

"Come on, sensei, don't let us hanging!" Ike pled for her to finally proceed with revealing the results.

"Don't be so impatient..." Chabashira replied but she still proceeded to slowly pin the poster on the board with small magnets.

"YEAH!" When everyone saw the results, all exclaimed with full vigor while holding up their fists.

"What the hell is this? How is it possible for Sudo to score so many points?! Isn't he idiot like us?!" Ike immediately fixated his wide-open eyes in shock at Sudo's name and his scores while saying this aloud, most likely talking to Yamauchi.

"Sudo-kun, what the hell?!" Yamauchi also noticed it after hearing Ike so he immediately turned at Sudo with a shocked expression.

None of the 3-idiots failed and the least points one of them had was around 60 however Sudo's worst subject was English where he scored only 83 while scoring above 90 points in everything else. This caught the interest of a lot of people but they just thought of it as Sudo truly studying from old test papers very diligently. After all, remembering old answers isn't that hard and if one invests enough time into it, he can remember almost everything.

*Clap* *Clap* "All of you have been able to pass the midterms without any problem. I am glad that none of you have to part ways with us." Chabashira clapped her hands and this time it sounded more genuine than the first time when she revealed to them the school's system of Class points.

The next class began shortly after and when it ended, Chabashira asked Yuichi to help her carry her stuff to the Staffroom. Although he wanted to refuse due to hearing "Staffroom", he accepted with a bright smile in front of his classmates.

"Chabashira-sensei..." Yuichi called out as they were slowly walking through first-floor hallways. He was hardly carrying anything heavy and even if he truly did carry something heavy, he already knew that she wouldn't call him out just for that purpose since there were people like Sudo who appeared more muscular.

"What is it, Iwamura?" She asked with a fake curious expression but she still had a faint smile on her face.

"No need to act like that, sensei. Both of us probably have their own questions, we can help each other out." Yuichi closed his eyes for a second before replying with a calm expression while looking in front of him.

"Oh? If you have questions, go ahead, after all, I am your homeroom teacher...I should do my best to help out."

Yuichi glanced at her and she also glanced into his eyes with an intriguing look.

*sigh* "Sensei...May I be frank just this once?" Yuichi stopped walking and asked with an indifferent expression.

"...Go ahead" Chabashira was intrigued by what he wants to say so she also stopped walking and turned at him.

"I am grateful to you yet I hate you, sensei." Yuichi said with an expressionless face.

"Huh?" Chabashira seemed to be quite caught off-guard by his words.

"That unfairness we of Class D had to face..." Yuichi muttered.

"I see...it's about that matter but isn't that nice example of how unfair the world can be? There never can be equality if superiority is in the way." Chabashira said with a faint smile.

"True...However, I believe that there never can be equality. There never was equality to begin with since first humans occupied the Earth. Since the old ages, there was corruption, superior people to other "rubble". Yes, slavery was stopped with the advancement of the time but at what cost? Thousand years and what became of it? Not too long ago something similar picked up during the world war. Humans can never have equality because we weren't born to do such things, as long as human's egos will remain, nothing will change." Yuichi said with narrowed eyes.

"...Looks like you are pretty good at history, I am really proud as your teacher" Chabashira said with a sarcastic tone.

"What can I say, I like Chabashira-sensei's classes the best" Yuichi replied in the same tone with a bright smile before starting to walk once again.

"I am glad to hear that. Can you tell me in more detail why you said those blunt words? I would like to improve as a teacher" She asked with once again sarcasm in her voice.

"I am grateful to sensei for preparing me for the outside world and I respect sensei a lot for this but I also hate sensei because of what I have already mentioned. People struggle against unfair situations that are thrown at them, most of them will fall in the end but some of them might prevail and be able to crush those who were oppressing them, however, this doesn't come without consequences. The person who will prevail will most likely attain a higher ego, making him feel as if he is above others and in the end, he will end up as one of those who were opressing him in the past until someone else will come up and crush him. This is the never ending cycle I see."

"I hate sensei because you make me hate this inequality and unfairness, you make me want to erase it but I know that once we swap the places, I will be the same. I am weak, I can feel it..." Yuichi said with a faint helpless smile.

Chabashira stared at him with a slightly surprised expression before she smiled.

"That's a very interesting view of this world however you should change it a bit, you are trying to judge modern society here and not middle ages. Still, I admire how you can so easily say that you are weak. Maybe your placement into Class D was a bit hasty..." Chabashira said, this time without any sarcasm which made her sound very genuine.

"Please don't say that, sensei. Is it because of "Acknowledging your own weakness makes one a better person?" type of thing? I know there are more reasons why I was placed in Class D." Yuichi replied with a calm expression.

'Hm? Did he perhaps find out in such a short time? Was it perhaps because of our talk not long ago?' Chabashira frowned down and thought while glancing at Yuichi's bright green eyes.

"...Anyway, may I ask you something, sensei?" After Yuichi noticed that Chabashira had no intention to reply to him, he asked.

"Yes, that is if you will honestly answer my question after I answer your question..." Chabashira said with a faint smile.

"All right, but please ask me first." Yuichi replied with a bright smile.

Chabashira narrowed her eyes, seeing through Yuichi's intentions. She also confirmed that his morals aren't bad when it comes to promises but he was still careful when making them. He let her ask first because he would have the right to refuse to answer.

"How did you come up with the strategy to get old test papers? Did you give one to Sudo early because you were aware of his bad English?" She asked with narrowed eyes.

"Sensei, that's not fair, these are 2 questions...but I guess I can answer them since I am still a bit grateful to you. First, I came up with it thanks to your words when we talked 1 week ago, I also contacted someone and confirmed it. Second, yes, I was aware of Sudo's awful English. Sensei, you sound quite as if you were upset, did I interrupt one of your plans or something?" Yuichi answered before asking with narrowed eyes since he saw no reason why would Chabashira focus on Sudo's English.

"Not at all. Brilliant execution of your plan, having Horikita take the credit. I thought you would try to play ignorant regarding the old test papers but I was wrong."

"I am already aware that sensei probably already knows all students who gave me those old test papers...after all, we were supposed to get them to begin with if we all wanted to pass the exam. As for Horikita taking the credit...I don't see any reason to take the credit. It won't gain me points or popularity." Yuichi replied with an indifferent expression.

"But it would give you attention." She replied with faint smile and Yuichi frowned before looking at her as if she truly means it.

"I mean a different type of attention." She shook her head with a faint smile and closed eyes before replying.

"The bad one, you mean?" Yuichi asked with narrowed eyes but she never replied to him.

"Anyway, I wanted to ask if there is another way to advance to Class A, other than slowly climbing up." Yuichi asked his question.

"Hm? Heh, sure there is...You can buy yourself a spot in any class you want for 20.000.000 points." Chabashira smiled widely before confirming Yuichi's thoughts.

"I assume this has never been done in the history of this school and the person closest to it probably had at most half of those points." Yuichi asked with a composed expression which slightly surprised Chabashira as such an enormous sum of points didn't even flinch with him.

"Almost right, the closest person to this was B-Class student who managed to accumulate 12.000.000 points before he was expelled for fraud in his goal to get to Class A." She replied with an amused smile.
