Why am I wearing a wedding dress?

My head was throbbing and the last thing I could remember was a group of my family's flunkies throwing me into a car. Slowly I opened my eyes expecting to see the family parlor. "…" "...….." "….Ok I give up where in the world am I?" The room was full of flowers I loathed flowers. In front of me was a door with a cross on it "…Does that mean I'm in some sort of church or something?… " standing up from the chair I tripped over… A fluffy white ballgown gown? "why am I wearing a ballgown?" After my third attempt at standing, wrestling with the glittery fabric and high heels I stayed seated on the floor and looked up to check out the room once again. Towards the back I noticed a floor length mirror. In the mirror was reflected A pale girl wearing a veil with perfect make up and flowers braided in her hair. I looked around but I was the only person in the room me and my poofy dress. I managed to stumble my feet in a panic ripping a small hole in the dress during the process. "What kind of fool's head prank is this!" I said scrambling towards the door. Just then my step mother walked in with another lady. Judging by the baggage she was carrying she must've been a make up artist of some sort. "Oh! Looks like sleeping beauty is finally awake!" Said the strange woman. "Miss Alicia don't you look beautiful you must've been so tired from wedding planning you fell asleep before I even entered the room how do you like it is there anywhere you want me to touch up?" "… My name is Alex not Alicia. You must mean…" I was interrupted before I could finish. "Yes yes Alicia I know occasionally you do prefer to go by Alex specially when you're around family but you need to grow up now. This is not like the old days do you have to be more feminine." Said the stepmother. I stared at her blankly she clearly knew that I was not my sister Alicia so why was she claiming that I was. A sudden pit of dread burbled in my stomach. My stepmother continued, "Oh she went by all kinds of nicknames when she was a kid Alex Lily Sia don't pay much attention to what she calls her self this is our darling Alicia isn't that right dear." I stared at her for a minute then replied. "Uuuhh sure". I was at a total loss as for what I was supposed to be doing here. " I think Britney the bridesmaid mentioned she needed some help with her make up why don't you go out and I'll have some last words with my darling daughter." The other woman hustled out of the room. Darling daughter my butt she hated me. "So your supposed darling daughter is confused as to why she's being called Alicia and wearing a wedding dress what does darling mother plan to do about this? What Was Alicia too busy doing her own make up and couldn't be bothered to make her own wedding." I smirked. My stepmother's lip curled. "Count yourself lucky to get this opportunity and if not you'd still be trying to scrape up enough money to save your mothers life. Can't even afford your own medical expenses can you. Poor dear." "Wait so she really was late to her own wedding?" "No you daft girl she ran away with her lover she didn't wanna marry that cold hearted CEO no proper woman should." huffed stepmother. "… So you want me to marry this horrible man. No thank you I'll just continue paying off the medical bills by waitressing." Her stepmother rolled her eyes "Please you don't have a choice. Do you know our family owns the hospital we can make you pay it back right away or delay the treatment and I'm afraid your mother won't survive that long. In other words you don't have a choice dear you're marrying him have a nice life and if he finds out you can guarantee we won't even have to lift a finger to destroy your life hell surely do it for us." She gave a wicked grin. I grit my teeth knowing that everything she said was true. In fact they owned all the hospitals in this part of the country. I briefly considered moving but I knew I didn't have the funds for that. I have to somehow make this work. "And who exactly are you planning to marry me off to?" "CEO Qin," "Oh yes just marry me off to the cold blooded man who is known best for his hatred of women." "Again darling you don't have a choice. Don't even think of running because if you do your mother won't live very long." She laughed and sauntered out of the room. As the door slammed behind her, one of the flower bouquet fell off the wall and hit me on the head. "Yeah this was gonna be a great day."
