Gamechanger

"Wow..." One of the scouts covered his mouth with a hand, clearly surprised by the proceedings on the field of play. He was a Caucasian man, who had ginger colored stubble covering his jaw.

"Are you surprised by that boy scoring his second goal?" His compatriot asked, a younger looking man with long hair.

"Not that... But the game intelligence of that boy who assisted him. You may not see it, but his presence on the pitch changed this game."

"Him?" The scout pointed to a tall, lanky boy with a buzz cut. His shirt seemed to big for him, and he didn't seem to have anything special for him. "Beside being fast, I don't think there's much to him. I'd prefer if we got that yellow team striker, and both the red team wingers. Also the midfielder in that yellow team looks good."

"You're mistaken, just watch the tall African boy for a while and you'll understand."

Play began and the ball found it's way into Isaac's half. Isaac had to stay high to recieve the long balls that would be sent to him.

Their striker, dribbled through Isaac's defense with ease. After he skillfully escaped his markers, he sent the bag flying in toward the goalpost. The keeper jumped toward the ball, his hands outstretched to stop the shot.

The ball shot toward the goal like a bullet, and Isaac watched it with baited breath. It drew closer, and closer, and just when Isaac felt like he'd get a heart attack, it hit the crossbar. The defender sprinted toward the loose ball, before clearing it.

"Make a run!" Isaac yelled at Sfiso as he sprinted to where the ball would land. He found himself next to the opposition midfielder. Isaac leapt into the sky, while battling against the midfielder.

Being taller, he obviously had the aerial advantage, and that led to him reaching the ball.

He directed the ball behind him, toward Sfiso. The ball flew through the air, and into Sfiso's chest. With impeccable control, he had stopped the ball, and he was ready to attack.

Isaac made a run into space, so that he could open up an easy passing angle with Sfis.

"One-two!" He called, as he made the run.

Sfiso's didn't hesitate passing the ball to Isaac.

When Sfiso had recieved the ball in the half space, he immediately returned the pass to Isaac before running in behind. Isaac knew that he was only passing because he knew he'd receive the ball again.

Isaac came to the ball, and adjusted his body position so it seemed like he would send a first time pass to Sfiso with his left leg. But he knew it would not be that easy. The opposition defender was already before him, ready to tackle and win the ball.

"He's in front of me... So there's space behind me..."

Space meant he could pass. He faced his back to the goal, and waited for the opponent. The opponent neared, and every muscle in his body seemed to be waiting for Isaac to take his first touch. Isaac knew when he did, the tackle would come .

That's why instead of stopping the ball before him, he let it pass through his legs, before using the heel of his left leg to smash the ball behind his right leg. The ball flew past the unprepared defense, and into the path of none other than Sfiso.

Sfiso didn't disappoint, he sped towards the goal before sending the ball into the top corner.

"Niceee!" Isaac ran to his team and rejoiced.

His teammates ran to him, all of them happy to no longer be losing. Though in the first half they didn't pass to Sfiso due to the fear of him outshining everyone else, now, they realized that it couldn't be worse then losing or being marked down by the coaches from being greedy.

Furthermore, Isaac had won them over by helping his team comeback. He had 2 assists after all.

"Nice assist!" their winger said, running up to Isaac.

"No, it's him who scored and made the pass worthwhile!" Isaac said with a smile as he pointed toward Sfiso.

Sfiso awkwardly walked up to Isaac, he didn't speak much, but he was prideful. It was difficult for him to speak to Isaac at all, since he'd never considered Isaac a good player. He was even surprised when Isaac was selected alongside him for the trials.

"Nice pass." he muttered before jogging back to his position.

"Why is he so arrogant?" Their right winger, who was known as Theo asked."Nobody likes his attitude. He doesn't even speak to the others."

"Don't mind him," laughed Isaac. "He's got a quiet personality."

He jogged back to the halfway line before turning to his team.

"Come on, we have the momentum! Let's complete this comeback and show them who the red team is! Let's show them that red stands for danger!" Isaac shouted, as loud as he could so that not only could his team hear, but also the opposition. He clapped his hands to place emphasis, and his teammates followed his actions.

" Come on!"

" Let's do this. "

For the first time that day, the red team showed some unity and determination. All this was because they finally had a leader.

The whistle was blown, and the game commenced at 3-3.
