Releasing Bloom was extremely risky considering they only had a day to bond but it was better to test its usefulness sooner than later. Bloom was growing constantly each time it absorbed the Soul Herbs so Number One wanted to experiment before it was too strong to control. 

"He is all yours. Eat up," Number One ordered again as he crouched next to Bloom and gave it an encouraging pat. "Make sure you don't leave any crumbs."

Bloom no longer hesitated after Number One's words and jumped excitedly with its body extending like a nightmare from the shadows. It creeped towards Burning Dragon from all directions as if trying to swallow him whole and that caused panic in his eyes. He activated the stone in his last effort to survive and it momentarily exploded towards them.
