The tree cutter

Apparently, these four family members had some very interesting skills in their arsenal.

John had the skill named 'Wind manipulation', it had the same application as what the name suggested, he could make the wind around him move with his will to some extent making it a somewhat envious skill that Lucas wanted to have.

Ella had a totally different skill from all and the most important, it was called 'Heal aura' and had a very good use that even saved Lucas's life.

Ella could cover her hand in the healing energy which was glowing white and whenever she kept it on his wound, the feeling was somewhat euphoric. His wounds healed from the aura slowly but it had the means to heal the wound faster than modern-day medication and the achievement was nothing to scoff at.

Next was the annoying guy, Sean, who had the 'Strength enhancing' skill, the skill helped the guy give some kind of a buff to others and himself that increase the strength stat by 5-10 points for a minute.

He hadn't tried it till now and they knew all this after he narrated the skill's description.

At last, John's other son, Barney had the ability to move things without using his hands to a certain level, it's name was 'telekinesis'.

It had been six hours since they banded together.

"You have a shelter that you made in a few minutes that can upgrade, you have a skill that lets you know the uses of the plants around, and you... you still think our skills are better?" John said with a constipated look.

Lucas could only chuckle awkwardly as he said, "The herbalism skill was an extra for me that we both worked hard to get." He said while pointing at Sarah who giggled in response.

They were all sitting near the camp that was not lit and no smoke came out.

"Finally his skills are up to some good use..." A voice came from John's side from Ella.

"What skills?"

"Every month, this man goes to the forest and lives there for a few days, he is been doing it for a few years now." She said with a mild smile.

"It's not much, but things will become handy if we have some tools. After looking at those messages in the air about surviving for 10 whole days from something. We need some fortification." John said with a serious face.

Lucas was curious and asked, "What's the plan?" He was fascinated by John's way of living in the forest, but his family had never approved of it. They believed that he had enough luxuries at home and didn't need to live like that.

"There are so many trees around and no government or forest rangers around to pester us about not cutting them haha... so let's get to work. Sean, Barney.. come here."

Lucas felt that his statement was a little bit weird but in a world like this, it was nothing to cut some trees down. And it was okay because Lucas could see around a thousand trees in a span of only 10 meters and the forest seemed endless.

Lucas was going to get up too but Ella came to his aid and stopped him, she told him that he was not ready to do such work and had to heal first. He did not have any choice but to only look at their work.

John first surveyed the area around the shelter and found some trees that seemed to be very young, their barks were thin and their heights were only around ten feet, which was small compared to the fifty or sixty feet tall trees around them.

John, with the help of Sean and Barney, pulled a thin small tree out of the ground which took a lot of strength and sweat. In six minutes, John and the two were only able to pull out one tree.

Under Lucas's curious gaze, John went to a pile of uneven stones. There was a boulder that looked to be above 200 kilos on the ground and many more small stones there.

After carefully examining several stones, John selected one that was the size of a forearm just below the elbow. He grinned in satisfaction and then surprised Lucas by placing the chosen stone on top of a large boulder. With a powerful throw, he hurled another stone at the one he had just placed. The impact produced a loud sound that echoed through the forest.

BANG!

A loud sound resounded and both the stone broke. Lucas just stayed silent and observed, the man was making loud sounds but he was up to something.

John held the chosen stone in his hand and gave a small nod. He then began chipping away at the edges using a small stone, working on it for several minutes until the thick rock became smaller in size and started taking on an oval shape. Finally, he began rubbing the stone against the big boulder, creating small screeching sounds in the process.

Lucas realized with amazement.

John continued working on the rock with the smaller stone, shaping it from the corners into a blade and smoothing out the rough edges. He worked with such precision and focus that Lucas couldn't help but be impressed.

"Haah... finally done for now," John said, his hand had a hand-sized rock that had its corners sharpened.

"Is this an axe head?" Sean asked with a curious smile.

"Yeah, but our work will be done for now. I will make a handle for it later." John said and went to a tree branch. It was small yet thick, after checking it a few times, John broke it and brisked his way toward the tree that the trio had pulled out.

BANG!

He kept the pointy end of the stone at the center of the tree and used the thick bark as a hammer to hit the stone's back.

BANG!

BANG!

The stone went inside the tree by a little and it was time to turn the tree, John made another few hits on the stone resulting to make a line on the tree.
