The herd of creatures

To not make much noise, Sean boosted the strength of Lucas whose arms were strong as it is, in order to complete the secondary task quickly. While the tree was getting plucked from the ground by Lucas, the others were looking around vigilantly.

Their primary goal was to look for something to hunt and level up at the same time. The forest was too dense with various colors in the same place making things that wanted to hide get a better chance at it.

In total, Lucas took out 5 small trees from the ground, and with the help of others, these trees were sent back to the shelter in the pile of logs to be processed later.

"It is abnormally quiet..." Sarah said while looking everywhere. She was right, when they both entered the forest before, they found a humongous carnivorous plant within a few meters but now that they were ready for the dangers, there weren't any coming toward them.

John was marking the trees with his spear by making carvings on them in order to return back after the travel. During the whole Journey, Lucas found many plants that were going to be good for his use. These plants ranged from some clovers that were the size of his finger and others that were bigger than his leg.

They all were important and were carried by everyone in their pockets.

After 10 minutes of travel, there wasn't much hope, Lucas was just going to say that the travel had been a bust but John stopped him from walking further by keeping a hand on his shoulder.

"What is it?"

"Shhh..." John told them to be quiet and pointed to their left, Lucas looked to the left and saw clearly.

There was a clearing where no tree was present for a few meters and tall green grass surrounded everywhere. The grass was not the only thing inside in the expanse, there were creatures grazing on it.

Lucas couldn't tell what they were but from afar, they looked like a deer yet it only came in its category.

These creatures had six legs with a slightly longer neck than a deer, there were no horns on their head. Their fur was greenish, making them look rather unpleasant, yet Lucas had different things in mind.

"Clothes... food..." He muttered making everyone nod with a gulp.

These animals didn't look any better than the deer on Earth that were very easy to kill if the part of killing them being unethical is taken out.

"The game is right there... What's the plan...?" Sarah asked while looking at Lucas and John. In the group, there was still an unanswered question of whether Lucas was the leader or John.

While John was older and had a better experience, Lucas was the one accommodating the people in his shelter and was the highest leveled person.

"We got the numbers but if that thing's traits are anyway near the deers I know, then we need to be careful."

"It looks like a deer, what's there to be careful about?" Lucas asked but the question made everyone look at him with a weird expression.

"These animals have a very keen instinct, If we even break a twig.... they will get alerted and run if my knowledge extends here as well."

Lucas didn't notice the judging eyes of others and took in all the information like a sponge. In a world like this one, he had no way of surviving on his own if he did not even know how hunting worked.

"So, how do we get them then?" Lucas asked the point question that everyone had been thinking about. John looked at those mutant deer-looking creatures with a serious gaze as if thinking of a plan.

".... I don't know." he said with a sigh making Lucas bulge his eyes out, he made that much suspense only to say 'I don't know'?

"The thing is, I have never hunted without my long rifle. My aim is good and am confident in killing with my gun but not with this.... spear," he said with a little frown.

Lucas kept a hand at his chin thinking of how to proceed next. They were far enough to only see these guys herding on the grass. Lucas kept thinking for a few seconds until his gamer brain awakened for a while.

"Hey... Don't you have the wind skill?" He asked with excitement to which John only nodded wanting Lucas to continue.

"You said your aim is good so why don't you throw the spear like a javelin at the deer thingy?"

John's eyes shone for a second yet he became dull again, "I commend your mind but I can't really shoot this spear without making them notice me first."

"I know that but you can try throwing it while applying your winds manipulation." A grin formed on his face.

John still didn't catch up and the others just looked at him as if saying to speak ahead. He explained his plan to Everyone and John was the first to get baffled.

Lucas provided him with a simple explanation - to channel his winds around the spear's back to increase its speed. However, the challenge was whether John could execute the skill with finesse, as he had yet to develop a proficiency for it.

After some collective decisions, They all decided to go a little further while also checking for some other predators around so as to not get third partied.

"You ready?" Lucas asked, not to the expectant John but to the other guy, Sean.

Sean just nodded in response, he used his skill on John making his strength increase by 5 points for a minute. John didn't waste any time.

He held his spear and concentrated on his wind skill. After concentrating with closed eyes for a few seconds, he threw the spear like a javelin toward the deer, and as Lucas had suggested, used his wind manipulation to increase its speed.
