Welcome To Eden

Both Reiji and Yuta were busy and excitedly working on their computers, and their excitement was well placed considering what was about to happen. Ever since they finished that quest, Reiji immediately went to work with creating an automatic translator for the game while Yuta continued working on the server.

Since the game had just been made public to all countries and not just Japan, they would obviously be gaining players who spoke other languages. They wanted all their players to be able to interact with each other and play together, therefore they found the need to overcome the language barrier.

Thanks to the system, the automatic translator didn't take long at all to properly create. It not only automatically translate any chat messages sent, but also the words that the players speak instantaneously to whatever native language the players speak.

After making the translator, Reiji quickly went back to helping Yuta prepare everything for the server, and they were now quickly approaching the final stretch. They finished the hub and were now just finishing with creating the minigames.

"Finished over here, Yuta."

"Same here." Yuta responded simply to Reiji's words as he gave a small sigh. He then formed a small grin on his face as he sent the files over to Reiji's computer, who received said files with a nod. "All we need to do now is to release the update,"

"Speaking of which..." Reiji smiled as he quickly typed away. He then paused for a second before his smile widened, he soon then clicked down on his mouse. "It's released. Let's head on inside as well, I want to check out their reactions myself."

"Right." Yuta nodded in agreement before pulling up the analytics. "Dude, check out the sales!"

It had only been three hours since they last checked the sales to be around six thousand, and during that time it had already jumped from that to a whopping twenty-one thousand sales. They doubted that most of those were from overseas, traction couldn't have been grabbed that fast outside of Japan.

Though, perhaps a few of them are since some people who live overseas do watch Japanese streamers. In any case, both brothers were pretty sure that most of the sales so far were people of Japanese nationality, but it's only a matter of time.

For now, they had a server to check out!

Yuna had been in the middle of making a few finishing touches on her house when the update came, and out of obvious curiosity, she exited the game to install it. Looking at the progress bar, the update didn't seem to be too large as it was quickly filling up.

"Multiplayer? Huh..." Yuna was reading through the update notes on the game page as she saw the few features that were being added, which were only two in number. First being the automatic translator, and the second was obviously the Multiplayer function. "This could be interesting."

When she first opened the game to play, she noticed that the only thing really available to her was the Singleplayer option. There didn't at all seem to be a way to play with anyone, not like she really cared since she didn't really have any friends to play with in the first place.

"Oh, it's done."

Quickly opening the game back up, Yuna fell unconscious once again in her chair before waking up and being greeted by the starting screen in the void. Shaking her head a bit, she looked at the menu to see the new and very obvious addition to the screen.

Between both the Singleplayer and Skin Customization option was the option simply labelled Multiplayer. Obviously, she was quite curious to see what was being offered, so she calmly and casually raised her hand before tapping onto the option.

"Infinite players?" Yuna blinked when she saw this. It wasn't uncommon that some games might put a limit on things, such as a certain number of players within a certain area, to reduce things like lag. "Won't this cause problems? Whatevs, maybe they've already considered issues with lag."

Tapping onto the server, Yuna was then prompted whether or not she wanted to enter the server. She obviously clicked onto the accept option before she found the world around her shatter just like how she first created her Singleplayer world.

『Connecting to the server』

『Logging in』

『Location: Eden Hub-1』

When she clicked the button, she soon found herself in her player model that she designed. She had based it off of her real-life self, although with some major changes since she obviously didn't want to look pretty much exactly like she did in the real world.

Instead of her green hair, she changed it into a brilliant silver, along with extending her bangs on the right side so that they completely covered her right eye. Her clothing consisted of a pair of tight black shorts with silver lining, and her upper body was covered by a hooded short-sleeved jacket that was colour blue and white.

This jacket was worn over what looked to be a simple black shirt underneath, nothing special could be seen about said undershirt. Finally, on her feet she wore a pair of tall boots that match the colours of her jacket, with the soles of her boots were silver

Yuna's eyes soon widened considerably, the world around her came into existence and it was something Yuna was not at all expecting. The world she soon found herself in was an absolutely gigantic area that seemed to be a combination of both futuristic and medieval themes.

Looking around, she took in the unbelievable sight. One half of the vast area she spawned in was full of beautifully built medieval houses that were separated by a few gravel streets, there were also numerous hand-built trees she hadn't seen naturally in her Singleplayer world, and so much more as well.

Turning to the other side, she saw that instead of a medieval city, it was instead full of numerous skyscrapers that reached relatively high into the sky. They weren't modern skyscrapers either, they looked as if they straight came out of a legit sci-fi film.

However, the most astonishing thing...

"Woah..." Yuna froze for a second when she looked upwards to see two massive dragons staring down at the entire area. One dragon was a massive western dragon with red and golden scales, and other was a serpentine dragon that looked to be entirely mechanical, having been built with a white metallic material. "They almost look real..."

If it weren't for the fact that these two humongous dragons weren't moving, nor were they showing any signs of sentience, she probably would've been pretty damn panicked, Realising that they seemed to just be built structures, Yuna calmed down and continued looking around.

While everything was already surprising to her, what she noticed as well that really seemed to stand out were the large swirling purple structures that were built into the landscape. There multiple paths leading to each one from both the medieval and futuristic sides.

"Survival Games? Build Battle?" Yuna spoke out those words as she noticed the large floating holographic texts that were present above each of the portals. She wasn't entirely sure what they each meant, but it definitely intrigued her.

Just like her, hundreds upon hundreds of other players began storming into the server as they also looked around with clear astonishment in their rectangular eyes. None of the players knew how to react to the grand area they had found themselves in.

"This is awesome...!" Turning her head, Yuna saw a male player looking around excitedly with his jaw hanging down. Looking above the individual, she was able to see the name as well as some other pieces of information regarding the person. "Wh-Whoever built all this is incredible!"

『Yama』-『Country: Japan』

"That guy looks excited." Yuna snorted a bit in amusement before smiling as she looked up towards the two dragons once again. Her eyes soon giving off an excited glint of their own as both her square fists clenched beside her. "Eden, huh..."

As all the players stormed into the server, two certain individuals could be seen standing on top of the one of the skyscrapers with smiles on their faces. One of them was standing with crossed arms, while the other was sitting down on the edge with both legs swinging back and forth.

The first male had straight smooth snow-white hair with green front bangs, along with having a pair of matching neon emerald eyes. The male had slightly pale skin and wore a simple form of attire, consisting of a tight white and black t-shirt, long black sleek pants, and a pair of metal tall white boots with black soles.

The other male had a pair of crimson red eyes and royal blue hair that was swept to the right, and having the same skin tone as the former. This individual wore a red t-shirt underneath a simple black hooded leather jacket, along with having on a pair of simple black shorts and white running shoes.

These two were none other than Reiji and Yuta respectively, and they were currently observing as all the players came into the server and began gawking at everything they made. This was only the hub as well, there was still so much for them to see.

Just like the players down below, these two also had names above their heads.

『Genesis』-『Country: Japan』

『Revelation』-『Country: Japan』

The reason these two chose these names was a bit interesting, they chose them as a form of secret message. Reiji's name, Genesis, was used to mean the beginning of something, the start. On the other hand, Yuta's name of Revelation meant revealing something, disclosing a truth.

Together, their names basically gave an insinuated message of "This is the beginning of something new".

Anyway, aside from their names, they watched with satisfied looks on their faces as they saw the hundreds of players reacting to everything around them. This was the exact reaction they were hoping for, and it amused them to no end.

This was only the first hub as well, there were also hundreds of players in others hubs probably experiencing the same feelings and emotions as these ones. Each hub was capable of comfortably holding around eight-thousand players.

Since Minecraft was obviously going to get more and more players in the future, to avoid major traffic with so many players trying to get around, they made multiple hubs to separate the players. Players could obviously go back and forth between hubs, but each one had a limit of eight-thousand players at a time.

Anyway, the players down below were all unique, it seemed that pretty much every single person that has bought the game here in Hub-1 already designed their own skins. Some have yet to do so though, some still had on the default Steve and Alex skins.

What was most interesting though was the varying sizes of the players, more specifically, the height of the players. Considering people of all ages would be playing, they decided to add a growth feature in a sense.

To put it simply, if the person playing the game were a child, then their in-game character would reflect that and make appropriate height adjustments to match their real-life selves. The older the player, the taller they would be. This way, players could tell if a person they're playing with or talking with is far too young or not.

Swearing was an inevitable thing, and while they could obviously censor it, parents don't like their children hearing anything to do with swearing, even if it's bleeped out. Hopefully, players will watch what they say if they know when impressionable children are around them.

This rule also applied to both Reiji and Yuta as well, Yuta's player model was significantly shorter compared to Reiji who probably stood around twice the height that Yuta was. Of course, the maximum height for players was still around two blocks.

"Looks like they've already started exploring." Reiji chuckled slightly as he saw multiple players running into either the medieval or futuristic buildings in the hub. "It's only a matter of time before the food and entertainment areas begin filling up, what are you going to do?"

True to Reiji's words, this hub also had multiple places for the players to relax and have a good time hanging out. These places included parks, playgrounds, restaurants, and more. This was made for players who wanted to relax from playing things like minigames and such.

"Hmm..." Yuta swayed his head left to right for a bit with a thoughtful expression on his face. "I'll probably hit up one or two matches in the Survival Games, there are bound to be some people who will play as well. Why don't you join me?"

"Yeah... I think I will."
