8 Kim Seongwon (II)

The world was fading away once again, Seunghyuk's vision was getting blurry, almost like he was sinking into an eternal fog. Kim Seongwon took the jewel and held it up to the air, admiring it and taking his own sweet time to look at it from different angles. He knew Seunghyuk was done and no longer posed any threat to him, so he did not pay even a single bit of attention to the poor Conqueror losing his blood as every second passes.

"I need to...stand up...urghh..." Seunghyuk willed himself to stand up, but the hole in his right thigh sent out warning signals that caused the nerves all over his body to scream in pain, causing him to sit back down, "Ahh! Kim Seongwon...why must you do this? You're a whole company and I'm just a single Conqueror..."

"Exactly why you failed terribly, Choi Seunghyuk...You shouldn't have been so confident, striding in like you knew you were definitely going to conquer the Obelisk," Kim Seongwon bent down near Seunghyuk and shook his head slowly, his bald head rocked left to right as he contemplates, "You could've avoided all this if we've found you sooner and got you to join ConcCube."

Seunghyuk tried to sit up straight but the pain rushed through his every blood vessel and forced him to stay slouched in pain. He stared straight at Kim Seongwon, who he actually started to have a casual conversation with, and sighed softly as he did not know what to do. Seunghyuk did not like Kim Seongwon, definitely, but here he is expressing a side of him that somehow bettered his obnoxious attitude so far.

"Well, looks like the company's doing well without you, still, so I guess you weren't really needed, as you're really just a weak Conqueror..." Seunghyuk heard Kim Seongwon's words and immediately retracted his previous thoughts, his face contorted with anger as he shouted out at Kim Seongwon's face, "You're the worst of bald people that I've seen, shouldn't have mistaken you for a monk...haha..."

Seunghyuk laughed weakly as he coughed out blood into Kim Seongwon's face, which earned him another punch to his stomach. Seunghyuk knew he was done for, and there was nothing he could do to turn the tides when things have worsened this far. Kim Seongwon stood up and his facial expression changed abruptly, flashing an expression along the lines of annoyance and frustration. Seunghyuk was confused for a good 10 seconds before realising that Kim Seongwon's listening skill, Bat's Ears, he must have picked up the skeleton's footsteps before he did. Judging by the heavy footsteps, Seunghyuk remembered the Skeleton Leader who was barely-clothed from before He also made the link relatively quickly in his brain, knowing in the end that the Skeleton Leader was supposed to be the original Boss for this Obelisk.

"Oh for God's sake! Why are you even here!" Kim Seongwon hit his bald head with his palm furiously as he activated his Horned Charge skill, "Looks like poor Choi Seunghyuk's death has to wait."

Seunghyuk looked at the manipulative Kim Seongwon go head to head with the Skeleton Leader, and the only thought in his brain was how Kim Seongwon might have actually messed with everyone's brains like how he messed with Seunghyuk's own mind. Kim Seongwon was a dangerous, manipulative guy that would do whatever he could do get his things done, no matter the cost. That was what made him a resilient man, or as many others said, a stubborn Conqueror.

Without Seunghyuk knowing immediately, the Skeleton Leader dropped a small glass into Seunghyuk's lap. Seunghyuk only realised the existence of the glass and understood that it came from the Skeleton Leader. Currently, Kim Seongwon was seen gritting his teeth and fending the Skeleton Leader off with great difficulty. Seunghyuk picked up the small glass and pulled off the cork, then, he immediately gulped down the small amount of blue liquid. He did not have the time to contemplate and find out whether the liquid was acidic, poisonous or harmful, he had to do anything to live and here was his chance. He thought he would be completely stupid not to hold tight to the chance rope and slowly, he could pull himself back up.

"I already feel much better, thank you so much, the Leader of Whitebone Skeletons," Seunghyuk thanked the Skeleton Leader in ancient Byeodae once again and was shocked to see the Skeleton Leader being able to nod his head even though he was in the midst of a crazy battle with Kim Seongwon.

"You crazy set of bones! Just crumble already!" Kim Seongwon summoned his horn yet again and spun in the air, dealing countless slashes and cuts to the Skeleton Leader, and at the end, it fell forward and crumbled, breaking into many pieces, "Finally, this set of bones are using up the freaking calcium in my body!"

Seunghyuk could feel his big hole wound in his right thigh close slowly, like it was being stitched up automatically by magic. Not only that, but he's energy was replenished completely and all the fatigue was shedded away from his body like he changed into a completely new skin. Seunghyuk never felt so refreshed and new in his life except for when he was born right out of his mother's birth canal, which was not a thought that he should be thinking when Kim Seongwon had already noticed him.

"I don't know how, but you're already healed," Kim Seongwon provoked Seunghyuk and walked forward menacingly, the horn still intact on his forehead, rid of blood as skeletons don't have blood running through them, "You're just going to be a little annoying, like a rowdy rat running about, but if I can kill you once, a second time shouldn't be a problem."

"But wouldn't it be fun if I kill you with the Obelisk's treasure? If I'm not wrong, this should be Ophiuchus's Gem! It's a B-Grade item!" Kim Seongwon chuckled to himself sadistically and prepared to use the jewel, which was actually upgraded to A-Grade, on Seunghyuk, "Let's see how long you can survive then, little rat."

Kim Seongwon held the jewel tightly in his hands, but he suddenly froze in his spot, unfamiliarity rushed into his blood and he suddenly lost his train of thoughts. Seunghyuk then instantaneously realised that Kim Seongwon did not have a ring or a necklace, or any other gem-holding accessory to equip the jewel, hence he could not use it. Seunghyuk had to thank the awkwardness that filled Kim Seongwon's body and took that short time of hesitation to rush forward. Since his ability ran out, he then had to use it again, however, he had not seen any setbacks or consequences for using it consecutively.

"Short-Fused Explosion!" Seunghyuk yelled and that even shocked the dazed Kim Seongwon back to reality.

Seunghyuk's stats raised back up to 8, and he leapt up high, swinging his kick down like a hammer. Kim Seongwon tried to raise his hands to block the kick, but that was exactly what Seunghyuk wanted Kim Seongwon to do, and Seunghyuk's kick's magnitude smacked the jewel out of Kim Seongwon's hands.

"No!" Kim Seongwon screamed and dived for the falling jewel, but Seunghyuk leapt towards it first, like a predator hunting its prey, he eyed it tightly, "Choi Seunghyuk!!!!!"

Kim Seongwon started to lose control of his emotions and the jewel landed in Seunghyuk's hands, which jumped into the ring on Seunghyuk's right hand in the speed of light. Now, Seunghyuk had the Ophichus's Snake-calling Jewel, and all he had to do was to finish off Kim Seongwon.

"Hey, you manipulative bastard, " Seunghyuk walked up to Kim Seongwon and pointed his right hand with the ring to Kim Seongwon's face and he called out, weirdly, with familiar confidence, "Snake of Ophiuchus!"
