9 End of ConcCube

Kim Seongwon backed himself up to a wall and immediately lost all his confidence he had racked up moments ago.

"Hey, you manipulative bastard, " Seunghyuk walked up to Kim Seongwon and pointed his right hand wearing the ring to Kim Seongwon's face and called out with a familiar feeling of confidence, "Snake of Ophiuchus!"

"You have learnt the skill Snake of Ophiuchus, currently 0 out of 5 stars."

A purple figure emerged from Seunghyuk's ring and flew out menacingly, the snake of Ophiuchus swirled around in the air as it looked at Kim Seongwon like it was locking on to its next meal. Kim Seongwon knew he was going to lose his life, so he turned his head around abruptly and took off running, jumping through the hole he made when he first broke through the metal door with his horn. Ophiuchus's snake chased after Kim Seongwon with an insane speed, even Seunghyuk had troubles keeping up with the speed.

"Seunghyuk! You've already gotten the treasure! Just let me go!" Kim Seongwon begged for his life to be spared as he continued running, however, Ophiuchus's Snake seemed to close the distance in an insanely short amount of time, "Seunghyuk...Please...I could make you ConcCube's Assistant Leader...No...I could even give ConcCube to you! You want that...right? You could use ConcCube's Conquerors all you want! Like how I used them, you could also sacrifice them to get what you need!"

Seunghyuk bended his wrist back with the ring facing himself, Ophiuchus's Snake then stopped midair, waiting for its next command. Kim Seongwon watched as Seunghyuk immediately walked towards him and his eyes immediately lighted up with hope. He rushed forward and extended an abrupt hand to Seunghyuk, knowing he would get his life saved.

"That's actually not a bad offer..." Seunghyuk contemplated and Kim Seongwon nodded like crazy, losing all his cold demeanor as a leader of a big Conqueror company when he was faced with a huge problem, "But I'm just going to reject it for the sake of rejecting you."

Seunghyuk turned his wrist back the other way, his ring facing out, and Ophiuchus's Snake hissed loudly, rushing forward as it coiled itself around Kim Seongwon, wrapping him tightly. Almost all the air had been squeezed out of Kim Seongwon as the Snake of Ophiuchus delivered one last fanged bite into Kim Seongwon's shoulder, and the Level 4 Conqueror with average stats over 10 was out cold.

"You deserved this. You gave up everything immediately when you are faced with danger, even ConcCube, and what a huge scum you are for using your own Conquerors under your company. You've lost all humanity and I see no reason for you to live anyway." Seunghyuk said out loud, even to the lifeless Kim Seongwon lying motionlessly on the floor, he wanted to get his point across even if he had died.

Seunghyuk's skill Heart of Cold Steel activated automatically and Seunghyuk did not feel nauseous at seeing the death of someone right before his eyes. However, he had to say he was getting used to deaths and losses of lives everywhere as this is how the world is now. Seunghyuk stood up and walked past Kim Seongwon's body. Seunghyuk did not even think about taking what Kim Seongwon has, he was so disgusted of his acts that he did not want to have anything to do with him. Even if he wanted to take his skills and stat points, it was just impossible for one Conqueror to 'steal' the points of another, even if the Conqueror is dead. That's just how the system works.

Seunghyuk turned the corner and his face shuddered in shock. The whole alleyway was littered with bodies and weapons lying around, blood splattered all over the Obelisk's floors, walls, and ceilings. There were still some injured members of ConcCube alive, their whole bodies trembling in pain, but most of the members have lost their lives holding the skeletons and buying time for the despicable Kim Seongwon. At this point of time, Seunghyuk did not despise ConcCube at all, he only hated Kim Seongwon to the core.

"Stop! Stop taking their lives! They were only doing what their leader ordered them to!" Seunghyuk shouted out loud in Ancient Byeodae and the Whitebone Skeletons put down their weapons and walked away, roaming around the Obelisk.

"Hey! Are you okay? You're still awake, right?" Seunghyuk went up to a woman who was coughing furiously, and with every cough, blood spluttered out from her mouth as she held her throat in agony, "You're Oh Yumi, right? Do you have any healing items on you?"

"Ho...How did you know my...na...name?" Oh Yumi asked slowly and Seunghyuk only understood what she was trying to say a good ten seconds later, so, he immediately stopped her, "I have my secrets, but this isn't the point right now!"

Oh Yumi weakly tapped her side pocket on her chest and coughed out more blood. Seunghyuk did not hesitate even one bit as he reached his hands into the chest pocket. Seunghyuk then realised he was touching and rubbing a woman's breast furiously as he was looking for the healing item.

"The skill Heart of Cold Steel has been activated."

Seunghyuk remained calm due to his skill and took out the red liquid from her pocket and immediately opened it.

"I'm sorry for touching you like that but it was an emergency, I hope you understand," Seunghyuk seeked Oh Yumi's understanding and apology, seeming calm on the surface but deep inside he was deeply ashamed as a man, "Come on, drink it."

Seunghyuk watched as the wounds on Oh Yumi's body healed immediately and the first thing she did when she was healed was hug her chest ashamedly. Seunghyuk could not help but felt abashed as well, hence he rushed over to help heal the other members with Oh Yumi's healing items.

"You handsome little boy, why did you help us? What's your intentions?" Oh Yumi suddenly jumped onto Seunghyuk and looked into his eyes with her pink eyes, "You know you can tell noona(elder sister called by a younger male) anything, right? Did you kill our leader"

"Conqueror Oh Yumi used her Seduction skill on you. The skill Heart of Cold Steel was activated and nullified the skill."

"By the way, your Seduction skill won't work on me, so save yourself MP and trouble," Seunghyuk told Oh Yumi nonchalantly and the fact that Seunghyuk was not affected by her skill shocked her, which made her ask millions of questions about how Seunghyuk knew her name and her skill, "Mrs Yumi, I'm not going to answer your questions. I have my ways. Secondly, even if you don't use your Seduction skill on me, I would tell you why I saved you people. Thirdly, yes, Kim Seongwon died, I killed him."

Oh Yumi gasped and could not wrap her head around how a newly-awakened Conqueror like you could kill a Conqueror Company's leader with at least 2 years of experience. Oh Yumi gathered the others promptly and there were about 20 members of ConcCube alive, all of them standing in front of Seunghyuk waiting for an explanation.

"Basically, I don't know if any of you know that Kim Seongwon has been manipulating and using you all as mere tools," Seunghyuk asked and all the members just looked at either feet or their friend's eyes awkwardly, only Oh Yumi looked at Seunghyuk and said, "Yeah, we all knew but we were paid well with money and items. It was the safest place we could be too, even under a disgusting leader."

Seunghyuk nodded in agreement as he understood Oh Yumi's train of thoughts. The world has changed since 2035 and no place is safe when you are not strong or skilled enough, hence the only place where you can hide under someone's strength, is a Conqueror company. Seunghyuk looked at the members who are alive, then he scanned his surroundings to look at the members who have lost their lives and exhaled deeply.

"I guess I only saved all of you because I couldn't stand Kim Seongwon's unrighteousness. He deserved to die anyway, also, all of you should leave the Obelisk soon, it would collapse soon since I've taken the artefact from here, if I've got my information right." Seunghyuk said and expected Oh Yumi to leave with her members, or even thank him, and then leave, but what happened next was unpredictable.

"Choi Seunghyuk, I'll admit that I know of you only because Kim Seongwon asked me to find out about you, and as the Secretary of ConcCube, I am curious and interested in your abilities even as a newly-awakened Conqueror. Being able to speak with skeletons, kill Yeon Taekjoon and even Kim Seongwon," Oh Yumi said with a wide smile on her face and looked at the other members for some sort of approval and when the others nodded she nodded even more affirmatively, "Choi Seunghyuk, would you like to lead us, as the leader of ConcCube, and climb higher up the ranks together with out help?"

Seunghyuk was definitely taken aback, but he was able to remain calm and composed with the help of his skill Heart of Cold Steel. Seunghyuk thought through the pros and cons of leading a company and he leaked out a small smile.

"No, I'm not going to lead ConcCube," Seunghyuk stated firmly and disappointment crossed the faces of Oh Yumi and the other members, "But I'm going to lead Legendclad."

This time the members' faces flashed with confusion, all except for Oh Yumi which had a huge smile on.

"It's time to say goodbye to ConcCube and say hello to Legendclad—Our new company's name." Seunghyuk voiced out confidently and Oh Yumi only smiled wider and took out a gem from her pants's pocket.

"Looks like I was right to prepare another one..." Oh Yumi gave the gem to Seunghyuk and Seunghyuk absorbed the gem with his ring, startling himself as he felt stronger, "Mr Choi Seunghyuk, with the Gem of LegendClad worn, you shall now be able to lead us as the leader."

Oh Yumi knelt down, and the members followed. Seunghyuk only stood there mildly shocked at the scene unfolding before his eyes and merely closed both his eyes and smiled softly. All this calm after a storm, he thought he should really try appreciating it.
