'A ball with stats like these? What type of football game is this?'

"Congratulations". The old man smiled at him. "You are the 2nd player from New Brazil in Planet Earth to have completed the new beginner tests".
"For your incredible achievement, you will receive an additional reward".
"…!" Endrick was instantly fired up.
The game Unity was still an entirely new thing to him, he still had a lot of questions that he needed answering but the little premise that he saw already excited him. Of course, he was hyped to receive an additional reward.
"As the 2nd best from a Country in Planet Earth, you have been rewarded with 2 additional footballer levels".
His game interface lit up at this exact same time.

"Congratulations once more". The old man's voice interrupted him. "It has been a nice time with you, now you can finally go to the fantastical world of Unity".

The old man waved him off.
The next moment, Endrick saw his avatar disintegrate into white particles.

When Endrick regained orientation of his surroundings, he discovered that he just appeared in an entirely new world. He was in a futuristic city that was modeled after the current real world but with lots of game elements.
There were cities floating in the skies and all that, but before he could do anything, he was attracted by the green screen that suddenly blinked to life before him. At the top right corner of this screen, an icon blinked.
Endrick focused on the icon and it displayed a name.

Endrick clicked on it. Instantly after clicking it, the icon enlarged as a map was projected before him, showing the name of this city and its layout.

There were a lot of random elements in the map simplifying this fleshed-out world but Endrick's attention flashed to the stadiums. 'These 4 stadiums are probably the focal point of this game, right?'
'It's a football game Afterall'.
After exploring round the map some more, he finally left the icon. On leaving it, he discovered another icon blinking, on focusing on it, a name also appeared.

"Wow, that's impressive". Endrick was amazed.
Though as a stat representing his overall football ability, it was nowhere enough since football involved a lot more elements with some even metaphysical, Endrick still appreciated something like this.
"It reminds me so much of the FIFA games from my previous life".
"I…" Endrick paused as he felt a gaze focus on him.
"Which previous life?" Curiosity laced the voice as he asked.
Endrick turned his head only to see a short white-haired human boy standing beside him. 'Oh f*ck, the old man really said I was not the first to come here'.
'So, this little boy, he is the first to complete the tests for Brazil players?'
Legolas looked at the green tab that hovered above the boy's head.

He smiled. "My name is Endrickdinho, what of you?"
The boy had no change in his expression as he cooly gazed at him. "What did you say about previous life?"
"Ah, nothing, forget about it, I was just blabbering…"
"Ok". He turned around, instantly losing interest.
'Uh…' Endrick was surprised. 'What a weird kid'.
Not sure of what he was to do in the game, he just stood watching the incredible scenery alongside Legion when other players started appearing.

A few minutes later, the 3rd player arrived, making them a total of 5 players who successfully completed the entry tests to the game.
One common fact about them all was that they all came with their own balls, and Endrick keenly noticed that they were all different.
"Congratulations to all 5 of you, you are the first to finish the test in this region and therefore qualifies to form your own mini team".
Endrick recognized the voice as he raised his head only to see the old man.
"Unity Football is a game created for leisure, but it also has its competitive aspects. To enjoy the game, all you need is your personal ball".
"With it, you can kill other players and NPCs to get XP and level up, unlocking skills in the process, turning yourself into the ultimate unstoppable player".
"The only other way and faster way to get XP and level up is by contesting in football competitions".
"When you get to a high enough level, you will meet another test to pass which will allow you rise from this football plane into the next plane".
"Higher planes give you the privilege to meet alien footballers from other planets, they will converge to fulfill the ultimate goal of our game, unity".
"Overall, this is the casual and leisure part of Unity".
"As for the competitive parts, it would be starting soon".
"Apart from enjoying yourself in the game, the alliance of the 5 Universal Civilizations created tournaments which we call leagues which was modelled after knowledge from the old 21st century that we recovered".
"Very soon, the elite team trials will start".
"The requirements to take part in the trials is to access the lowest-ranked stadium, and to access the stadium, you need to become a level 5 player".
"If you can prove your skills there, you have a chance of being contracted and employed into one of the elite teams that will soon be established".
"You will be paid handsomely as a professional football player".
"After the establishment of the elite teams, there will be local leagues for each continent in Planet Earth. The best 5 leagues will earn the privilege of competing in the league of elites, the Champions League".
"During these competitions, the best of the best will be chosen from among you to get a chance to once again compete in the nationals".
"Through the nationals, the best will be chosen for the national team".
"The national teams get to compete in the Planetary World Cup that will be organized by your race. Once again, the best will be chosen from among you to be part of the ultimate team to represent Planet Earth".
"Team Planet Earth will get to compete with the ultimate teams of the other 4 races in the Universe Cup that will be coming up in 2 years".
"…!" Endrick froze.
It was like electricity just went through his brain.
'A Universe Cup?!'
'A cup even above the World Cup of my previous life?!'
His eyes moistened with emotion. 'Thank you, Tokyo Sexwale!'
