At the beginning of the Brazilian league, Coach Diego settled for a very reserved and defensive formation mostly because of the circumstances of his club.

Sao Luis football club was unlike other clubs from the very onset.

They were unable to get players the normal way.

Their budget was below sea level.

Coach Diego had to improvise with the little he had to get players, and with Endrick's help, he got the idea to seek other players like him, Legion, and Maria.

It worked; he was able to create a team at the nick of time.

His dream finally came to pass, Sao Luis FC became a reality.

He finally became a real professional coach.

Despite all these though, Coach Diego did not let the excitement to get to his head, he was grounded in reality. Having read and heard enough about football due to his family background, he knew exactly what he was heading into.
