Chapter 39: Trouble 1!

After Azrael had gone, Alex Bayly sat back quietly with a smile. She looked at the door that Azrael had walked through and pondered, 'Has he become so in love with me that he now treats me like an equal? How do I go from here? what if people find out...'

As she was pondering on those things she suddenly heard a bang from the gate. It was a very explosive noise that leveled the entire gate.

Alex Bayly was more than startled by the sound, even invisible Bianca Zul who was hovering over her was also shocked as well.

Bianca Zul flashed and appeared by the gate with her ghostly apparition form and on getting there she stopped in her tracks.

What she saw was frightening. She wasn't afraid for herself, but for Alex Bayly. Azrael wasn't even a werewolf yet so his presence would mean nothing, besides, even if he was, could he handle the multitude of werewolves who were currently breaking into Alex Bayly's residence?

Bianca Zul immediately flashed away to inform Azrael of the development.

Alex was shaking in her seat, too afraid to even go near the window to find out what was going on outside.

She ran straight into her room and locked the door. She locked the windows and threw herself under the bed.

~Gba-Gbagba-gbagba~ There was a sudden banging from the front door, but no response came.

~Gba-Gbagba-Gbagba~ Another banging came, but there was no response.

A voice then sounded from the door. "Kannais, open up, we know you're in there..."

silence...

"Kannais, respect yourself and open up now when I'm playing nicely... If I come in there, it would get ugly and ruthless fast."

Silence...

There were suddenly sounds of breaking of bones and shifting. A dog sniff and a howl followed. ~Kra-ka-ka-kra-Ka~ The sound of shifting and breaking of bones

~pufffffffff~ With a single slam the front door was forced inward such that only the rim of the edges held it in place by bulging.

~gbooiivvvvvv~: Another hit followed and the front door was thrown inwards.

While that was going on in the Alex Bayly residence, Azrael had already arrived at the designated training house of the protector, 'Yiu Ming Zul'.

Yiu Ming Zul was meditating on the floor with his legs folded into each other and his hands on each of his laps.

He didn't respond when Azrael entered. He simply continued to meditate.

Azrael watched him for a while and decided to sit down. He wanted to speak but he felt he might disrupt the concentration of Yiu Ming Zul.

Just as he sat down, he started feeling agitated. He sprang up like someone who had just been stung and held his chest.

He felt uncomfortable and couldn't explain why. "Why am I feeling like this?" He asked himself while looking around to see if there was any immediate threat.

Just as he was pondering on his discomfort, Bianca Zul appeared before him in a flash.

"Azrael, hurry, Alex is in trouble, I can't do anything to protect her, her residence is being currently attacked by werewolves and most of these werewolves are under my curse so they are immune to my ghostly powers... You need to save her..." Bianca Zul spoke hurriedly but Azrael was able to get everything she said.

Azrael rushed out of the house without looking back.

Yiu Ming Zul was distracted and stopped his meditation. "Azrael wait..." He shouted but Azrael had gone before he could get a word in.

Azrael rushed out of the bushy path into the main street like a maniac and jumped on an approaching vehicle with no care in the world.

The driver slammed the brakes and shouted, "Are you crazy..?"

Azrael had an immediate knee injury due to his contact with the bonnet of the car. He slid down slowly while pain ravaged his legs.

He didn't mind the excruciating pain, he wobbled slowly to the driver. "Please, my wife is in danger, please I have to save her, she would die if I don't get there on time..." Azrael explained to the driver.

"That is none of my business, you shouldn't have jumped in front of my bonnet like that you crazy lunatic." The driver spat out in anger.

"Have you ever been in love before?" Azrael suddenly asked while gripping the driver's front door tightly, "Would you be happy if something were to happen to your lover? Won't you try to protect her? If you were in my shoes... Would you not be as aggravated as I am...?" Azrael spoke softly this time and like a trick, it seemed to work on the driver.

The driver tilted his head to the side as he spoke, "Get in..."

"Thank you...." Azrael wobbled to the front passenger's door and opened the car quickly and got in.

Bianca Zul flashed away to return to Alex Bayly.

Azrael felt the full brunt of his knee injury as he sat down. It was like his legs had been hammered. It was bleeding and excruciatingly painful.

He grimaced as the driver turned the car around. "Where are we going?' The driver asked.

" Ya-Sun estate, Alex Bayly residence..."Azrael responded promptly.

The driver stepped on the gas and sped into the distance. He seemed to have been possessed as he sped off.

They broke so many traffic laws as they sped through a slow-moving line of cars.

Some had to stop suddenly, marching the brakes with everything that got, and some had to turn in another direction to avoid the speeding car that Azrael Herrington was in.

Azrael's leg was aching seriously, but his mind and heart were focused on one thing and one thing alone, Alex Bayly.

If anything were to happen to her, it would complicate matters a lot, and even more over time. For one, It would be more difficult to kill the werewolf king, Azrael would have an almost impossible task to get to the peak of his powers without Alex Bayly, his soul mate if he wanted to challenge the powers that be and a lot of things would be messed up, everywhere.

Azrael kept picturing Alex as the car sped continuously...
