1 Dusk Turns to a New Dawn

He'd been normal his entire life. He had just graduated from college with an average placement. Got an average job, had an average everything. Even for one thing he enjoyed more than anything, crafting. That was his sole hobby that he pursued it since he was able. He grew to love woodworking, metallurgy, blacksmithing, he loved it all. However, he's just mediocre. He had no talent. My one dream is to become a master craftsman in medieval times. Since that isn't possible, my life means nothing, i'll just continue on with my life an empty husk of a man...

-SIXTY YEARS LATER-

I have cancer, or so that's what the doctor said. i'm not surprised, I had been near a chemical leak for about fifty years. I wondered if my family will miss me once i'm gone? They haven't even visited yet.

As I was thinking my first son Quentin called, "Dad, it's me, i'm sorry I haven't visited, I didn't have the time to visit you. the office is so busy."

"It's okay." I replied, but in my mind it wasn't, "i'm sorry son I really don't have much left in me, the doctor said I have one week left, could you get the family to come visit me? I really miss them."

"I'm not sure dad, I've got so much work and the kids are scared of you, they think you look dead."

"Oh— Okay, I suppose that's alright. Well son it was good talking but i'm tired." I interjected.

"Uh huh, so did you see anyone die?" Quentin replied distracted.

Where am I? My hands are so small? Where are my wrinkles, my aching body. Last thing I remember is falling asleep and hearing a strange voice. What did he say. I cant remember.

"Sweetie!" A mystery women yelled.

"huh" I mumbled

"Sid, there you are." The young woman said to me then yelled, "Niko, Sid is awake, come to see

him!"

"I'm coming Sarah," a man replied in a hurry.

Who are you, I asked, however it came out as a babble.

"Awwww, he made a noise, are you trying to say mommy!" My apparent mother said.

"No, he's clearly trying to say daddy," A newly entering man replied.

"No he's saying mommy!" Mom said.

"Fine. Anyway have we checked his status, is he a strong warrior, or a intelligent mage?" My father asked.

"No, but the priest will be here soon to tell us!" Mom replied.

What's does he mean by status, does he mean like an RPG? What is he talking about. Hmm why does a priest need to come, am i getting baptized? Anyway it seems like the preist here. Wow, he looks just like a catholic priest from earth. I wonder if it's the same god.

"Today im here to check his status." the preist continued, " ohh okay let's take a look."

"I don't know, I haven't spoke to him since we ran away five years ago. However I will send for him." Dad replied.

Wow, so this world has magic, and my supposed parents are Niko and Sarah, who are they, and did they say my name was Sid. I'm so confused, but i'm also so tired. I'm just going to fall asleep...
