Chapter Seven_Is This The End Of The Road For Me?

A handsome young man lay despondently on a wide, soft bed, his eyes staring blankly up at the ornate ceiling.

But the elegance of his surroundings were lost upon him, as a burden weighed heavily on his mind.

"Is this the end of the road for me?" Lord Rein asked himself, but refused to think of the possible answers to the question.

Beside him, his lovely looking mother, Lady Saru, sat with red eyes, grief evident on her face as she gently comforted her first son, and promised to find a permanent cure for him.

She caressed his face lovingly, then gently patted his hands that were folded on his stomach, quietly assuring him.

But Lord Rein couldn't feel anything.

He really, couldn't feel anything.

And that was the main reason for his despondency.
